  1. This pretty much says it for me. I've always gone for auto's over photo's as I really love having my signed posters, however if it came down to it I guess it would have to depend on the guest and what the options were re signing. As a huge Sherlock fan if I got to meet Ben C again and he wasn't signing his full name I'd go for a photo instead (probably).
  2. That's easy for me, basically most of the Sherlock cast/crew as I was last at Sherlocked. Benendict Cumberbatch Mark Gatiss Stephen Moffat Una Stubbs Louise Brealey Jonathan Aris Andrew Scott Clive Mantle Sue Vertue

    Filming

I got to see some of the filming of Empire of the Sun way back when. The Brownies and Guide groups my sister and I were in were invited to go and watch so I was quite young and as a result don't have the best memory of it - I vaguely remember Christian Bale running passed the windows of a big house and got to meet Steven Spielberg. I saw them filming a bit of Mr Selfridge last summer - they were filming on our road just as I was leaving work so I stayed a few minutes to watch.
  4. I actually loved the Excel as a venue and would be very happy if it were held there again.
  5. Yay, new events next year!
  6. VQ's haven't ever guaranteed an auto as they are literally what they are named - they are just a place in the queue. If you've got hundreds in front of you the guest will only be there until a certain time and depending on how quickly they sign it is always possible that you may not get through. As vicky said it doesn;t happen too often and it's usually only an issue with the bigger/rarer guests.
  7. I can't remember what the evidence was for as I was trying to tune him out at that point but he kept saying 'go on my site and look at the 3rd photo...'
  8. Have you contacted ExCel to see if they have a lost property section?
  9. Yes! That was him! I was too polite to ask him to shut up and initially he seemed OK so I was happy to talk to him, it took him a short while to get really ranty and weird. He gave me his business card to look at the evidence on his website - it went straight in the bin.
  10. Anyway I was wondering if there was going to be a 2nd Sherlock con then wouldn't they of announced that there would be another by now? I mean they have just been with the company that probably have the go ahead with these things right? so surely they will know if there will be another or not unless the next one isn't going to be official which might suck if that's the case as it may lead to lesser quality of guests? its been a week since the event now and all SM have been posting is stuff about LFCC I know they are probably busy and it has just been 1 week just meh I'm probably getting too impatient xD Sorry if this seems wrong or something lol its midnight here near enough and I'm sleepy lol I'd love another UK Sherlocked con though! They are concentrating on catching up with the other events. Even though they are a while off they will have loads of emails to go through considering the amount they had to deal with for Sherlocked and they are going to have been receiving loads as a result of announcing MJF. There have been rumours that they are considering putting on another but we can only tell you that they will announce it when the can and not before.
  11. I did hear that something happened in his afternoon photoshoot, that must of been it. I really don't know why they bothered to come when they clearly had no interest in the guests or the show.
  12. Hmm, I don't recall. He had a massive backpack and a moustache!
  13. I prefer A3 or bigger, it really depends how much writing is on it. You don't want it to be too cluttered. If it's in a poster tube it's not too hard to carry.
  14. Wow, that's brilliant Etmuse!
  15. As QS said, it's best to keep an eye on the store.
  16. The 2 under Marks are, in order, Louise Brealey and Lars Mikkelsen. To the left of Lar's is Una Stubbs and the bottom 3 from left to right are Jonathan Aris, Andrew Scott and Rupert Greaves.
  17. My 2 Stargate posters that I may get RDA to sign. The pictures were taken a while ago now so the blue poster has a lot more sigs on than seen here. This is the Displate I had signed at Sherlocked.
  18. It was basically 'we take this date and location and get Ben for a day or it doesn't go ahead'
  19. They didn't have much choice in the date they picked for this event as it all had to be done then or not at all. Personally the Marathon didn't affect me at all. None of the trains I got on were full even though thre where lots of us and runners going to the same place.
  20. Personally I don't get my items framed until I consider them finished but as that can take some time with films/shows with a lot of cast members you might not want to wait until then. I'd always recommend getting signed pictures mounted when being framed as I don't want the ink touching the glass just in case. You could always buy an inexpensive frame with a mount inside that is easy to open yourself so you can remove it in the future for other events and then get it professionally framed and sealed when you think it's done.
  21. I've been meaning to take a picture of it. I'll try and do it later and post it here.
  22. i'd advise against asking the guests for their auto whilst in the photo session as it will only cause embarrassment to all concerned.
  23. I agree re the fanfic question. I'm a big reader of them myself and am happy for writers to do what the heck they want in their fics but when it's clearly out there what the opinion of the cast is it, people shouldn't go there, do they think Ben and the others are suddenly going to go 'you know what, I've changed my mind'. I think it was on Graham Norton a couple of years ago when he showed Martin some fan art they had printed out specifically to show him and it was pretty racy. I couldn't believe they put him in that position all for the sake of being able to go 'oh look at what the crazy Sherlock fans are doing'. I don't have a problem with the shipping and the art because it's between the fans and should be kept that way. I'm glad David was MCing as he had the balls to move things on and to tell people to stop. I'm glad he told everyone before not to ask for hugs ect.
