  1. <----- My name was Missie (full name Miss Marple) and my brother was Pod (Poldark). She had a son we called Grape (Grey Puss originally to differentiate him from his brothers and sister). Dead pets ...........................................Wahhhhhhh. I'm pet less at the moment though as I don't have enough room for one.
  2. I think you would need to contact the shop first, I wouldn't buy one first as I don't believe refunds are usually allowed and you may end up with 2. The shop will be the only people who can help you with this.
  3. Swapping shoot days cannot be guaranteed. You need to talk to the crew as soon as possible on the day and they will see what they can do, but if they expect the other shoot to be full they may not be able to move you to it.
  4. Diamond passes only give you priority with those specific guests. Unless you also have a gold ticket you only have the dame priority as the day ticket holders. You will have to be in the regular entry queue and get VQ tickets for the other guests the same as everyone else.
  5. That's what I'd say as well, yeah gold and bronze will be too similar to stand out.
  6. This will actually be RDA's third UK event so he may do more but whilst I wouldn't say he's 'rare' I would say he's not frequent.
  7. Looking for, but not hopeful of finding a good quality but quite small Hobbit BOTFA picture.
  8. I've only been to events at Olympia in December so can't advise. It's got very high ceilings but not sure that's going to allow much air to circulate.
  9. Yes. All guests (Apart from MJF) can theoretically be visited this way. check with the crew member sitting with them but if they have no queue and there's no one waiting to buy auto's from them then with permission you can go up to chat. You always have to stop and leave if a paying attendee comes up but you can go back again. With the big guests this is extremely unlikely to happen as they will be busy all day.
  10. Not sure what you mean. They will not be allowed in the queue even with a VQ just to meet the guest if the queue busy. During busy times only paying attendees are allowed through. You are only allowed to go in to just chat if it is an open queue or not busy in which case the VQ's aren't relevant so it doesn't matter if they have taken one and aren't using it. Also maybe they took a VQ intending to use it and changed their minds. Unless I misunderstand you.
  11. You do not purchase VT or VQ's just so that you know - the ticket is free and is just a marker place in the queue.
  12. I had a couple signed recently and I love signed books. One was with a black sharpie on normal book paper pages (the ink might absorb into the page fibres a bit if the nib was on there too long) but I think looked nice and the other was with a bronze sharpie on the shinier type pages.
  13. There probably will be some at the event but don't rely on them having what you want, if you want something specific it's best to get it before the show. Places like HMV and Forbidden Planet sell them but there are plenty of companies on line.
  14. I can pick some up for you if it's easier and you won't have to rush around to find them, I have a Rymans down the road from work and I know they usually have them in there I'm intending to go to LFCC on Saturday so could leave them with someone there for you or perhaps the info desk in case I don't see you. Or if you ever want any in the future send me an email and I can post some over to you.
  15. Sharpie. The metallic ones are a little hard to get on occasion. But persnoally I find there's least smudging risk with those. You can get them quite easily in the UK now I've found as more and more people are buying them. Have a look in any Rymans, WH Smith or Staples, on line or in shop as they often have the metallic ones available, usually in multi-packs. http://www.ryman.co.uk/sharpie-metallic-permanent-marker-pack-of-3for example. there are lots of other colours but be aware of how they will look on different pictures and it's best to test them beforehand. Also store and carry with the nib down to prevent it drying out!
  16. That depends a bit on the kind of paper. I had different results with bright glossy. If you can stretch to it get spares (Pictures and the different pens you are considering) and test the different pens on it. I did that with the Sharpie paint pens I bought and I'm glad I did as I hated them and would have ruined my picture if I had taken them to the event and had them used without testing them. The regular Sharpies are fine though I think.
  17. There's nothing wrong with that at all, like you said you are paying and you want to be happy with your item. I've got multi colour sig posters, and there's nothing wrong with them, but I must admit I prefer my single colour poster as I think it stands out more and is a bit more pleasing to the eye. As long as the sigs are far enough apart that they don't look like they are one it's fine.
  18. I took a bronze to my last event and got the picture all in the same colour. It looks good. Don't be shy about asking for a particular colour if you want it. Be careful about black though, in the hubub to get through it's easy for the guest to accidentally use a dark pen on a dark bit of the picture so I always go for silver, gold or bronze as they stand out well.
  19. More were added and yes they have now sold out. They may add more on, it looks like the Gold passes are being added in batches up to their limit - they aren't going to sell an unlimited number of them as they are part of the entry limit as well. If they haven't reached that limit they will add the next batch on at some point.
  20. Definately getting: RDA on a Stargate poster Possibly getting: Sylvester McCoy on a Hobbit poster Charles Dance for Imitation Game Might consider: Aliens guys.
  21. I think you'll stand out anyway Spacecadet......I don't think we will see many other camels there! I could bring one of my sisters alpaca's to help carry my stuff I suppose but you'll be a lot bigger than that!
  22. I have taken photo's of the guest whilst I've been queuing before as I lets me get the chance to get a decent close up. With talks unless you have a super professional camera I find I can't get good pics if I am more than a few rows back. I try to avoid photographing the attendees though and just get a picture of the guest between signings or if the attendee isn't right up close to the desk.
  23. I hope over the table photos will be allowed - some of us don't like photoshoots and the (in my opinion) unneccesary expense where a table pic is a much more nicer keepsake than something (which is too formal). Taking a pic at the table (without flash) takes less than a second but we are all different And holds up the queue. Some consistency would be good with this - if I know I can have table photos, then I won't buy photoshoots. Other than 'no photos' nothing else can be totally guaranteed. A guest might be willing to do table photo's initially but have reason to change later. Not everyone is considerate enough to turn the flash off and if you've got that going off in your face a lot you are probably going to get a headache at some point. Also there is the physical toll it takes - at Sherlocked Louise Brealey was insistent on giving every attendee in her queue a hug but it left her in agony from the constant bending over. If SM say all guests are allowing table photo's all day so people decide not to buy photo shoots, if the guest asks for this to be changed for the above reasons people may complain especially if the shoots are sold out. The best way to look at it is if you want a guaranteed picture get a photoshoot and then if you get one at the table, great, it's an extra memory. The shoots do add up cost wise but at least you know it's going to be a professional picture. Personally I'm a rubbish photographer, especially in situations where you need to be quick so rarely get a really good table picture.
