To be fair you’ve got a year to book the weekend off. Or even just one of the days.

Big event and guest announcement Thursday at 7pm
petrorabbit replied to showmasters's topic in General chat
Whatever it is please let it be in Manchester. -
Please dont give up on Manchester. Not after only 2 of them. The attendance for MCR could be great if you keep building on it.

DST 2017 for the 30th aniversary.
petrorabbit replied to AnyaWilcara's topic in Destination Star Trek Europe
Getting Jonathan Frakes to actually attend would be a big deal. -
It's staggering to think there are guests out there that are saying they want to come, are popular with the fans and haven't even been invited. Bizzare.

Latest Guest Announcement - JONATHAN FRAKES
petrorabbit replied to showmasters's topic in Destination Star Trek Europe
Including LFCC That's 6 years of cancelling in a row I believe. I'll never get to meet him. FRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKES !! -
I was just listening to the interview with Nana Visitor on the official Star Trek podcast and the host who is attending DST50 asked if she was going too and she said she hasn't been invited but would love to go if asked. Seems like a no brainer. She'd be a wonderful addition to the show.

Destination Star Trek Europe 2016
petrorabbit replied to showmasters's topic in Destination Star Trek Europe
I'm sure there are plenty of announcments to come. -
Glory to you all. And your Houses.
-
You know, by the time this show is held we should know at least what actors will be in the new TV series as it will only be a couple of months away. Getting someone from the new show would be a big deal. Obviously we have to wait till the show gets cast first....

Has anyone used or know of the free rail service that runs from Birmingham airport to the NEC ? Any info on it would be greatly appreciated. -
Destination Star Trek Is Back!

so, if it is in Birmingham, IF, it is... Where do people think the venue would be ? -
Showmasters have just announced Vernon Wells for a couple of cons this year. Showmasters if you read this I am literally on my knees typing this begging you to get him for Manchester. I would literally do anything!!!

Some video game related guests would be nice this time. Voice actors for example.

I Know I'm Going to Get Shot Down for This.
petrorabbit replied to IceCoolPsycho's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2015
I got a second autograph this year for my dad this year as he wasn't able to attend. Another friend got a second one for a birthday present for someone who couldn't attend. Both were delighted with their autos. So no, one auto per person is unfair. A limit of 5 is acceptable. It's the comic book people that get me. I've had people in front bring in stacks of 10-20 comics for a writer or artist to sign not caring for the people behind them. -
Arnie would be a dream but there's no way I'd want to put up with the size of a queue he'd bring based on the ones for stars from this year. Even the diamond pass holders weren't guaranteed an auto unless they were willing to queue up for hours.

Films Showmasters should celebrate for 2016

Don't be afraid to call out the queue jumpers
petrorabbit replied to petrorabbit's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2015
It always baffles me when they get aggressive when they get called on it. -
You know who you are people. Have some respect. We are all in the queue together you don't have any right to push infront of anyone else. (that means you too ice king cosplayer) Have some respect for those around behind and infront of you. Don't be afraid to call queue jumpers out, shame them. Everyone around you will back you up.

There will be literally hundreds and hundreds of wonderful cosplayers around the event who go to exceptional effort every year. It's one of my favourite parts of the show. None of them feel the need to be announced or be called Professional. They are all great people who create such good fun at the event and do it of their own accord.

There are always quite a few different variations on hashtags for showmasters events on social media sites. Instagram, twitter etc. Showmasters should put up their official hashtag for each event so people know what one to use for each event. Makes it easier for people to search for too. Just an idea I wanted to mention.

great post. One thing that I have a little confusion with that would be a great addition. What if you can't print the virtual tickets out. If you don't have a printer. Are there alternatives ? Can you use the email on your phone ? Is there somewhere you can go beforehand to print them off.
