Never been to a CM on a Friday before and was just wondering if they differ much to Saturday's/Sunday's? I'm hoping it may not be as busy as Sat/Sun and just generally easier to meet the guests.

Also, I know video recording isn't allowed at events such as Lockdown or Eclipse but is it allowed at CM?

Thanks very much!

Yes, Friday is generally the quieter day as a lot of people are still at work, and don't come down until that evening :P

I've seen people filming before. Some guests have been against it in the past, but there should be signs up stating that if it is the case.

The first Collectormanias that I attended Friday was great because as said its quieter due to peoples school/work commitments and back then most of the guests attended all days including the friday.

More recently not so many guests have attended the fridays making them not worth the travel unless of course you live local or are staying local all weekend.

This time however there are more guests attending on the friday and if it werent that Jamie Bamber was only going on saturday then id be going on the friday cos the other 3 i went will be there then!

I'm going to be debating whether I should go Friday or not till Thursday evening.  I still think its the best move for me as 'nearly' everyone I want to meet is there Friday.

I always do the Friday, either as my only day or normally stay over for the Saturday as well. Friday for me is the best day. Its nice and quiet and you get to have a decent natter to guests without the pressure of a big queue behind you, and you normally have no problem getting posed pics. It also ideal to walk around the dealer tables which is practically impossible at the weekend without a cattle prod!

I'll be down on Friday as well.  As has been said the only downside to Friday is that generally less guests attend on that day, particularly the UK guests, who tend to do Saturday and/or Sunday.

The shopping center is certainly no where near a busy which is nice!

friday is a very easy day if you want to pick up autos from the guests and more likely to have a little more time to chat to some of the less busy guests

so if you can get there on the friday you will find it a very different show altogether

Yeah, you get a lot more time with the guests on Friday afternoon than you do Saturday/Sunday. I've been lucky enough to make it every FRiday and on occasion have been able to spend 5 minutes chatting with guests, without creating a hold up in the queue. Definitel recommend the Friday!

In principle no-one can really stop you at CM, since it's a public area (as long as you're not harassing anyone!). In practice, if you're actually planning on filming a guest (rather than just you and mates at the venue) I think it's about being aware of their preference - some guests might be ok with it, some might not - so I guess the best thing would be to ask. I would think that if a guest have a "no posed pictures" sign they probably would prefer not to be filmed.

Tell you one thing though - this might be a cheap way of making a film with some good guest stars - get John Rhys Davies to bellow a line into the camera, edit it together with some other footage, and bingo   :cylon:

And then have him sue your ar$e for everything you own because you don't have a signed release

Filming at CM MK is fine. As Mike has said, just be aware that some of the guests don't like it and to be honest it's only polite that you ask first. I'm sure you'd not be overly happy if someone started obviously filming you without asking you first.
