smcelhenny
The horror forum seems pretty dead this year (no pun intended) Thought I'd try and get the horror chatter and debate jump started again. The good horror films have been few and far between so far this year so am getting my horror fix with 80s horror trailer reels and soundtracks. I am going to start making horror theme compilations to listen too for my long train journey home from work. It's the modern day equivalant of a mix tape I guess. The first one I've done is more of a contemporary horror theme collection. I will look at doing the more classic horrors collection soon. Does anyone else have any horror mixes they've compiled themselves and if so, what tracks have you got on yours My contemporary horror mix is as follows (it is quite goblin heavy but that's not a bad thing. The unreleased Hellraiser theme by Coil - Great piece of music Creepshow theme tune - Grows on me every time I hear it Demoni - Claudio Simmonetti - great memories for me as one of the very first horrors I saw City of the living dead - Fabio Frizzi - Love that tune Phenomenon - Goblin, a fantastically over the top theme tune Suspiria - Goblin again. Wow just wow, one of my favourite movie themes ever. Inferno - Keith Emerson - Bat-s*** bonkers piece of music, I love it Tentocoli aka Tentacles - The movie looks absolutely terrible but the theme tune is just so god dam catchy The Beyond - Fabio Frizzi Tenebrae - Goblin, yet another Goblin classic The Running Man - I know most may argue this isn't horror but for me the idea of how close we're getting to producing reality tv like the Running Man is a frightening one, plus the tune is so goddam awesome. New York Ripper - god the Italian's produced some good horror tunes Cannibal Holocaust - Riz Orilani- for such a brutal film, the music is absolutely beautiful Phantasm - The Captain Zorro disco mix - that's right a disco version of the Phatasm soundtrack and I defy anyone not to have a smile on their face listening to it. Indiana
Can't honestly say I've ever has the desire to listen to horror music outside of the film in which it featured. Well, maybe with one possible exception - The Gonk by Goblin, which I tend to pay loud on my iPhone when I am amongst a group of slow moving people who lack direction and spacial awareness in town centres or conventions! smcelhenny
I love The Man Behind the Mask by Alice cooper, such a great theme tune. I have a mate in work who sings it all the time even though no one knows what it is. I'm loving your profile pic by the way Matthewman

GoldenGreen
I've not done a Horror Mix tape, but I do have a few Horror albums downloaded that I listen to from time to time. So may put some stuff on if I am in the mood. Have to agree the Goblin stuff is always good to listen to, but I do like to listen to some of the classic Horror tracks as well, love James Bernard's compositions for Dracula and some of the other early Hammer Horror. Plus there's always Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells from the Exorcist.
