Man Cave (or woman cave) or dedicated Sci-Fi room if you will

Anyone out there got a room in there house / flat that they use as a home cinema room (other then the main living-room) or a place where they store and display all there sci-fi stuff, like autographs, photo taken with the guests, posters, figures, replica weapons, models etc

Thinking of turning the back bedroom (second bedroom) into one of these such rooms. No kids on the way just yet, it seems a shame just to have it as a boring old guest bedroom that only gets used 2-3 times a year at most.

Plan is to get a nice big TV mainly for watching blu-rays (rooms not really big enough for a projector) and a sofa bed in there and put some of our sci-fi stuff in there as well. Just wondering who else has done similar to this and what you've done exactly?

I'm still at university so no room available to do this, but I fully intend to do so as soon as I get a house, ultimate man cave definitely necessary! I'd love to see some photos of people's stuff being displayed, there used to be a thread about Star Trek collections which had some great stuff in it, which can be found here http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index....p;hl=collection :P

Yeah seen that thread, some great Star Trek rooms there. Wondering if anyone has a room with other stuff in it besides trek (when our room is finished I know its going to be filled with Trek stuff too though, along with other items)

Hopefully when my hubby and I get the back room sorted I can take some pics to put on here. Should be done with in the next month or so (at most) needs to be as I'm hoping (fingers crossed) to organise a small party round ours for my 30th in December. Don't expect much though when I do get round to photographing room, not exactly loaded with cash..

I did have my own Star Wars cave - 35 years worth of collecting - toys, books, posters autographs, shop displays etc etc. .....

but then I had kids so most of it got sold - the rest is now in the loft as my precious room became a playroom!!!

Any photos of it survive? I'd love to see!

TV is on its way and so is the new sofa bed, now is the hard part, deciding what autographs, photos etc to hang where, what type of storage to get, where to hang our bat'leths and where to put all my Me To You Bears.

Now I do wish I was having kids, cause setting a simple bedroom up for them seems a lot less stressful then doing a multi purpose room lol...

  • 2 weeks later...

I have an office room (spare bedroom with no bed!) in which I have a small 'wall of fame' with photo's of some of my fave actors and shows, and a couple of old Buffy posters. Hoping to add some Merlin and Primeval stuff after Xmas. I keep my DVD's in here and some of my books too. I also have magazine collections boxed up in the 'wardrobe' which has some free standing shelves added.

If anyone is looking for specialist archival stuff I stumbled across Arrowfile a while back, I got some CD storage books from them to compact down my cd collection. They do all sorts, including specialist genealogy storage. They have a website arrowfile.com

I'm working on my woman cave. I plan on hanging my beautifully mounted 'Carry On' autographs on the wall. Having ripped off wallpaper, replastered the room, re-wallpapered and painted (all by myself, I might add, proudly!) I really need to put the curtains up, otherwise they will be faded into oblivion...

I have one - it's called my bedroom. Action figures, 400+ dvds, christ knows how many comic books, graphic novels, books, nintendo plushies, video games, autographed photos....

I possibly have a problem! :firedevil:

Snap.

That sounds like my bedroom. :YAHOO:

Sounds like my room to!
