Most people will arrive on the Friday, and may want to meet a guest or two when it's quieter, and spread it out a bit over the weekend. It's a lot more comfortable around the dealer area too. I always book the day off work and go down, it's great... nice a quiet(ish) and i get to meet the people i want to meet when they are there, saves the wait on the Saturday or Sunday. It's not hurting anyone I go on the Friday for these reasons, plus I stay over so I don't need to travel down at the crack of dawn on the Saturday.
