remote
A friend told me he heard Buzz Aldrin is charging £90 for autographs surely this is rubbish ? on top of an entrance fee as well ! will that be the same shallow experience of the big stars we seem to get at other events no dedications, photos or other wording i would want a bit of moon rock as well for my £90 never been to one of these before but not very motivated if this is true is there a list of charges for other stars ? anyone know how much Ursula Andress will charge remote
mightymax
It sounds about right mate. If you ever wonder how much guests are charging just visit MSPG website and go to the pre-order section. They will have a price on there just deduct about 10quid from it and you will have the approx cost for signatures.
remote
William Shatners been to a lot more planets than Buzz Aldrin been back and forwards in time , travelled to parallel universes and he`s only charging £25 at this weekends Collectormania 8 although he`s not offering a very good experience and going through autographs like lightning perhaps he`s in a rush to go on another Trek remote
Crostini
Remote A friend told me he heard Buzz Aldrin is charging £90 for autographs surely this is rubbish ? This is very cheap considering he's one of only 12 others to ever go somewhere noman has done before. This is a sure investment. His autograph varies from anywhere around £250-£750 depending on what he signs. will that be the same shallow experience of the big stars we seem to getat other events no dedications, photos or other wording Not sure on personalisations, and has been known to charge people for dedications or even one word but photos are a Definate YES. anyone know how much Ursula Andress will charge Ursula Will charge £25-30. This is a first ever for Ursula so shes a must. Hope this has helped you a bit Edited September 30, 2005 by Crostini
Crostini
going through autographs like lightning Hes only doing this because he has to keep his fans happy. he was going to be late arriving at 3pm but luckily arrived allowed fans to take photos before he started signing and he got through around 700+ autographs in 45 minutes
remote
Similar here £28 for train £35 for gold pass possible hotel expense if stopping + food etc then autographs on top of this £90 is much to dear and if i go i definatly won't bother its a numbers game i suppose the reasoning is less people x £90 = more than more people at £25 but if they get their sums wrong and price to many out of the market they`ll end up with a lower profit overall If Buzz's Agent is reading this bear the above in mind read up on pricing theory and do some expected "what if" income calculations on excel hopefully you`ll realise it makes sense to charge less don't say nobody told you remote
lee_c00per
Surprisingly, i think he will get a very large ammount of people over weekend who will pay £90 for his auto. I am not one of them. I reckon he will do about a thousand over the three days. That's £90,000 Edited October 1, 2005 by lee_c00per
remote
I don't think so myself many attendees will be film fans they will only bother with non film people if the price is right unfortunatley we'll never know remote
Crostini
ah but if you've never been to one of these events before you'd be very surprised at the amount of Astronaut fans there are. This is what Dave and Garry mainly specialise in. The idea of the show came to both Dave and Garry whilst on a buying trip to the USA during which they met some of the men who walked on the moon. They realised at that event that shows in the UK lacked a little something! UK shows tended to be either smelly sports halls or giant barns half full of traders selling everything from bags to Beanies, but rarely autographs, (at least rarely genuine ones) so they decided to do something about it People ARE DIFINATLY going to pay £90 for his autograph just cause of what he's done. just like Alexei Leonov. People will pay big money for him cause he did the first spacewalk. The rarer the guest the more likely people are going to pay more money
Garry King
How could anyone compare Bill Shatner with Buzz Aldrin ? Buzz has been to the moon for real, Bill struggled with a visit to Milton Keynes! On his signature price, i will post the actual price to be charged plus any other details here as soon as i can finalise all the details with him, but currently he is away and unobtainable. He has attended only 2 other events before, both in the USA and he was charging $150 at each one, and will be charging a comparable figure here. Once a guest has set a figure like that, they cannnot come down in price. He also has a number of contracts with companies in the USA and elswhere which means he can only sign at certain times and at certain prices, and not at less than he has already agreed with those companies. This figure compares very favourably with the $250 he asks through the post. In addition, he does shake hands, he does look up, he does smile, he does talk, and he does allow photos, AND HE HAS WALKED ON THE MOON FOR REAL! He will also be attending the diner on Saturday evening, will be at the pre dinner drinks reception, is staying in the same hotel as the show, is giving 2 Q and A sessions over the weekend, attending another dinner in the hotel on Friday evening (now sold out) and will not be hiding away from everyone whilst he is at the show! If you look at the guest list you will aslo see that we have Charlie Duke, another one of the 12 men who have walked on the moon. Charlie was also the man who was CAPCOM during the Apollo 11 mission, and was the other voice you all hear when you listen to the recording of the mission 'We copy you down' etc was the voice of Charlie Duke. A good % of our crowd are Space enthusiats, but after giving out over 10,000 leaflets at collectormania, and speaking with hundreds of potential customers, i can assure everyone that most of the film fans will also be wanting to meet Buzz. In the years to come when your children or grandchildren come home from school and ask you about the moon landings, you will be able to tell them that you have not only met Buzz Aldrin, but you have a photo with him too. Do you think they are ever likely to ask about the captain of some out of date old TV show? Indeed, will anyone even remember Star Trek in 25 years time? On the point about the ticket price etc, If you buy a Gold pass at £35 it will get you in early all 3 days for the show, will get you into the drinks party on friday evening with our guests and some free drink, allows you into the drinks reception before the dinner on Saturday evening with more free drink, into the drinks party after the dinner on Saturday and gives you £50 to spend in the 'Casino Royale' which will be started by Ursula Andress, and gets you 2 low number viritual Queue tickets for both Buzz and Ursula. Now if that is not good value, perhaps someone could tell me what is!
rich5wolves
Youve missed the point, the point is people are unaware of how much it is to obtain his signature, so after spending £35.00 to get in, expenses to get to Heathrow, staying in a hotel whilst there, £90.00 is a lot to spend on one guest. No-one has indicated that Buzz's signature is not valuable just questioned after all these expenses whether its affordable. There is a big difference. Buzz is a great guest, no-one has even mentioned or questioned that. At the end of the day it comes down to affordability.Oh and the reference made by someone comparing Shatner to Buzz was an attempt at humour, it wasnt a serious comparison. Please. Moderators Dave Phillips Posted October 3, 2005 Moderators Share Posted October 3, 2005 Hello Guys I think the mathematics are in question here. No'one is saying that you have to buy a gold pass get a £28 train ticket or stay in a 5 star hotel to meet Buzz. The simple facts are you can come for a day and buy a £15 ticket and go home the same day. Please remember not everyone has to come a long distance to the show and not everyone comes for the weekend. I would suggest that you come along and see for yourselves why the show attracts so many hard core followers. Buzz is expensive that is not in question. Is he worth it, well that is a matter of personal taste. As Garry already said he will at least look up at you and shake your hand. Autographica is attracting a whole new audience from collectormania and i guess those that like it will vote with their feet. More guest announcements on Wednesday Bond fans are you ready for another worlds first signing Yes or no !!!!!!
lee_c00per
I have to agree with Dave. Autographica is attracting more and more people all the time. I found out about Autographica at Collectormania 7 and was excited about this event. I have payed £35 for a Gold Pass even though i am only going on the Sunday. I did this to Guarentee myself an oppertunity to meet and get an Ursela Andress autograph and leave me time to go to the talks and meet the other guests i am after like, Julian Glover, Brian Blessed, John Terry, Peter Bonetti and Maybe Prowse and Baker. (Depends on money) £90 is alot for someones Autograph but you have to remember that nobody is forcing you to buy his autograph. Remember that the Value of it will already be more as soon as you get your Signature. Does anyone know whether Ursella Andress will be allowing photos or not. I would love to have one with her

Im coming anyway with my Gold passes already purchased. Will no doubt get Buzz signature. I do have to come a long way and thought therefore id stay overnight as a consequence. Cant blame anyone for that. In fact, considering staying at the Hotel itself, not sure yet though cant wait.................. Im sure itll be a great night and look forward to your new guests.............
Moderators Dave Phillips Posted October 3, 2005 Moderators Share Posted October 3, 2005 Hello everyone If you are considering staying overnight treat yourself and stay at the Radisson. The hotel is great and the single room rate of £60 compares well with local hotels. And it includes the best breakfast you will ever eat. We are working on the Ursula Andress photo situation will let you know about this later. Trust me on Buzz Aldrin get his signature you will not be dissapointed. lee_c00per
£60 is very reasonable. I think it is especiaaly good for the Bond Fans cos it means that they can stay the night and make the most of meeting the fantastic Bond guests. I hope Dave will give some clues as to who these guests will be?

GoldenGreen
Personally, I am seeing the Buzz situation as partly investment and partly a historic opportunity. I have loads of autos already, both Space and other, but this is one guest that had achieved something very few have, and even if the announced plans for a new Moon Landing in 2020 go ahead, it is somewhile before this will happen, and no one will ever take away the fact that Buzz went on the first manned mission to the Moon. Can you really put a price on a such a unique part of the earth's history ? It is potentially a once in a lifetime opportunity to not only get the auto, but meet the man in question as well. And when you have done all that, there are a whole host of other great guests to meet as well.

Neil Armstrong would be one guy id love to meet but after that Buzz has to be the next most valuable signature regarding space......would he not? mooby81
£90 is actually cheaper than i thought it would be. this isn't just some film/tv actor he's actually been to the moon and to meet and get something signed by a moon walker is definately a once in a life time oportunity. I'm gutted I can't make it cos I would have loved to have met Buzz
CurlyKirsty
I am going just to meet and obtain an auto and hopefully a handshake from the moon-walkers. It will prob be Sunday, I do not need hotel though as I live nearby. I may even bring the children along to let them participate too.
remote
The Comparison was of course a joke Sorry for the confusion some people take life much to seriously trek will be remembered it has a large fan base which still continues to grow i still think its dear even if he does shake your hand they should shake your hand for £25 as well after all its only a signature that whether you like it or not you cannot actually prove to anyone else is genuine ( One of the dealers pointed that out to me at a previous convention) remote
