Bernard Hill

hey everyone,

just got back from a great day at collectormania! The highlight was meeting Bernard who although was late, grrrrr was totally cool. I had ticket 393 and got to see him about 2:30pm ish and he was still personalising and very talkative. Although he hadn't had a break still kept going. When i met him i had three scribbles to get at a very reasonable £15, 2 for me with lotr and 1 titanic for my dad signed them no problem. Then when i asked him which was the best director he had worked under, we had a short convo about clint eastwood and true crime.

Also sean was cool with the microphone and all and how he said that politics was a factor getting in the way of him directing. Plus some touching words he said to the people in front of me really hit home what a cool awsome guy his.

And Bruce, i so wanted him to quote the finding nemo thing "Fish are friends....... Even when he smiled it was bruce the shark.

Showmasters a pat on the back more guests like these today.. B)

O did anyone have any trouble with the park and ride this morning. We got there for the 7:55 bus but apaarently the times had changed GRRRRR!!!! :D

I got in pretty early, but still only got ticker 750 for Bernard, so I stole a used one out of the binliner when no-one was looking  I did wait til I knew there was no chance I would see him otherwise, though.

lol  I thought about that! Not until we were in his queue thought! Was standing in the queue and saw all the old tickets screwed up on the floor!

We were queueing for a ticket before 9am and ended up with number 898 :D Showmasters bent over backwards for us though and let us in to see him as we had a train to catch and couldn't change our tickets...

Apparently towards the end of the day they opened Bernie up to all ticket numbers and an open queue cuz there was no way he'd get through everyone otherwise.

I'd gone by this point so I'm not sure what really happened.

I had ticket 308 for bernard. But obviously he didnt arrive till much later so didnt meet him till about 4! He was so sweet though. You pay your money for your autograph and you take your free pic and go forward. So he signed my poster and chatted to me (he's good at keeping eye contact too!), and as i was leaving he called me back - 'how about a freebie from me?' and he signed my other pic for free. Bless him

bernard was without a doubt the best one i met on Sunday. we spent a while talking about titanic, and i told him that after watching the film i was OBSESSED with titanic and for about 2 years i spent all my time reading about it, wathcing TV about it etc (yes, sad i know!) and he asked me a question and i said something like "I know quite a lot about titanic, go on, ask me a question" and there he was quzing me on Titanic (the actual ship, not the film) Bernard is really clever too! Lovely bloke.

i wish i had met bernard but i was too busy trying to get james marsters ticket and antony head's. what was sean saying? i heard him speaking but it was really muffled on the other side. By the time i got through the crowds (who all decided to etiher walk at a snail pace or stop completely) he had finished tlaking and i hadnt ehard a word.

I saw him on the Saturday morning. We were in the first queue to meet him which as you all know, was quite late on as he arrived late. He looked all flustered and red faced when he sat down, but he was very approachable and pleasant. We had a good chat and because he was so nice, I forgave him for his lateness. :(
