  1. I'm a little behind and just read this on Hobbit Blog. I have to say I am ecstatic Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh are on board..I am sure with their involvement, this paves the way for a lot of the cast reprising their roles. I am extremely hopeful that this will go ahead and personally, I can't wait!!
  2. Aww..that just plain sucks..if ever I needed an excuse to drink more..this was it I don't know what to do now..although the hotel will be refunded, unfortunately the cost of my flight, x 2), won't be...do I bite the bullet and make a weekend of it anyway..and book a hotel nearer the city..or cut my losses...I need another drink. Thanks for the info Jason..at least we know..not what we wanted to hear, but a conclusion nonetheless.
  3. LOL..okay..everything except my mouth...and my arms lol
  4. I think we all just need to have a few drinks tonight, relax a little and wait for the news tomorrow ...that's what I intend to do...with everything crossed
  5. I hate sky ..first Lost..and now Prison Break..soon there won't be anything left for me to watch
  6. I seem to remember Andy Serkis and David Wenham being second and third in the 'second choice of who do you want to hang out with' poll. Considering some of the first choice names on offer look like hard to get people, what with popularity and the fact they are not known for doing cons...I reckon the 3 guests listed so far are pretty bang on. I'm not complaining at all..I just want this to happen like the rest of you, and the guests announced/suggested so far are okay by me :)
  7. Speaking as someone who has already booked too...I am well excited about the prospect of meeting David Wenham. I haven't met him before, so him being there is just awesome for me. I do hope you don't consider cancelling this and other guests can be persuaded to attend...flight fare and hotel booking money is a lot to have to forfeit, especially when you have paid x2. BTW..I agree with Banished from rohan..Howard Shore would be a major plus :)
  8. ...but then there are people who have not met a large amount of the cast before, so repeat signers are again welcome in that respect
  9. It's probably been changed due to the coming together of G-MEX and MICC. Although they have been operating together for a while, they most likely thought it needed a new name which didn't favour one over the other and gave it a fresh start. Manchester Central..well that's because the building actually stands on the site of old Central Railway station, (the roof is still intact from this, incidentally it was the worlds first railway station ), so no suprises to the name. We still call it GMex though..once given a name, it's pretty hard to shake it off :)
  10. The code has been posted in this thread somewhere..just read through the posts by Showmasters and you will find it, (I can't remember it off the top of my head). Then just call the hotel on the number provided and book. BTW: there is also a pinned thread at the top of this forum called something like "there are hotel rooms available"..all the info is in there too.
  11. Dom is the only Hobbit I haven't yet met..so it works for me
  12. Pretty much the same for me...I still watch Vegas, (when channel 5 isn't playing up, then I have to resort to watching my DVD's). I watch Miami when I catch it, but I do buy the DVD's and watch those..NY...well..never got into it from the start, and don't have any DVD's either...it's kind of a sideline series for me..if there is nothing else on, then I will watch it, but other than that..I don't bother
  13. ..and wasn't the woman Charlie saved from the mugger in the alley, actually Nadia..Sayids childhood love?
  14. I think you all missed something major It was most definitely her..albeit a blink and you miss it appearance. Take another look Also, you misinterpret my earlier statement...I don't mean for them to be asking questions about the occurences to the others...I'm talking about the survivors themselves...no one discusses anything. I don't know about you, but if I had just come face to face with a smoke monster or had it try and drag me down a hole...I sure as hell would be discussing it with my friends who had seen it too. ..and I'm still not convinced about the flashforward..after all, this is Lost
  15. that seriously made me laugh for a long time I'm not sure what to make of the finale either...once again we are left with tons of questions that need answering...makes my head hurt I'm not convinced it was a flash forward...not in the sense that it's what happened after they were rescued...I can't see the writers giving it away that easily ...yet everything seems to point to that; the gold passes they got, the fact Jack and Kate met, the maps, the frequent flying...but who was the dead person?, and why was Jack speaking as though his dad was still alive. Did anyone else notice that in Charlies flashback when he was busking and it started to rain..Naomi was standing in the crowd watching him? ..and what's with Naomi anyway...I mean who is/was she? She had a photo of Desmond, and knew about Penny..so was she an 'other' too? Questions, questions..I know what you mean about people not asking questions...it bugs me too. I mean, the smoke monster for instance...people have seen this and no one discusses it? I mean it killed Ekko for crying out loud Oh well...onto the next season
  16. Just to keep this on topic, it wasn't a case of "holding out", for the rest of us...we did hold out..for 3 months until we got the authorisation code from SM's...it was incompetence on the hotels part, plus part vague instructions on SM's part, (not having been told to ask for a business manager etc etc if we were told there were no vacancies, or in fact that there were pre-booked rooms)...we can only take the word of the people we are talking to as you would assume they would know what vacancies their hotel has..don't you think? I'm happy you got your rooms, really I am..but it doesn't make any of us who have had problems, feel any less disappointed for ourselves.
  17. Thanks for the info, but it's too late for me I'm afraid. Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, I DID mention the authorisation code, and was still told no rooms were available for the saturday night, I can only take their word for it as I assume all of their staff are kept in the loop. Upon receiving this information from them, I had to go ahead and book elsewhere, which is non refundable..so unless I want to be charged in full for staying there, it is impossible for me to change my reservation. It was badly managed on their part, as you would think all staff, no matter when they work, would be kept informed about this, and it is a really disappointing start to what I hope will be a good weekend...such a pity.
  18. Oh well..whatever the reason, there is nothing I can do about it now. At that time, I had no alternative but to book elsewhere, before it got too late for that and I found myself without any accommodation at all...like I said, not happy about it, but there was nothing else I could do.
  19. Yes, Rosie you understood correctly..I DID phone the hotel directly, and even told them about the discount thing, but they still said there were no vacancies on the Saturday whatsoever, (Friday and Sunday were available). They then proceeded to offer me rooms at the Park Inn, (I think), but I didn't know anything about this hotel, so left it until I could check it out, (I use Tripadvisor too TommyT ) In the end, we plumped for the Holiday Inn down the road. Again you have to pay up front, so even if rooms DO become available at the Radisson, it won't make any difference as I will still be charged for cancelling..but I have priority club membership for ICH, and got an ok room rate including breakfast, and we can use the free bus service to get to the Radisson and back...(it has a pretty good rating on Tripadvisor too). It's not ideal, I would have preferred to be at the Radisson, just for the convenience, but it's the best of a bad situation for us. Incidentally, Frankslittlemachine...had you already booked rooms at the hotel PRIOR to receving the discount code..and only spoke to the manager to get the code implemented...or did you book rooms after the code was posted on here...and got all 3 nights anyway, despite others being told there were no vacancies?
  20. I should point out though, that I telephoned the hotel directly. I think some hotels pre-let batch rooms to different agents for them to sell on, so it is quite feasible to maybe find vacancies on an outside website, (although I have already tried a few, including Expedia, Opodo, Trip advisor, amongst others)..I just don't have the time really to trawl through the many websites to see if i can find any vacancies. I am resigned now to booking another hotel nearby.
  21. They have rooms for the Friday and Sunday, but not the Saturday..which is pretty useless for me as I am going for the whole weekend. They said they have rooms at a different hotel just down the road, but it was disappointing to hear that after holding out for the Radisson.
  22. I have been waiting on the code and didn't want to go ahead and book the room anyway..just in case. My fault really, but I wish I had, as there are no rooms available for that weekend now, so I'm gutted
  23. I wish I could go to that signing in London, but it's much too far, (why are they always in London ) As for the book..I LOVE Alan Lees work, and I could ony hope to meet him one day, but I will definitely be buying it :)
