  1. But would you be prepared to lose your deposit if you don't pay 100% in time? you do have a point knitty. I hadnt thought of that. Not saying that SM would but it's a possibility as at the end of the day that are in business to make money and if they had a ticket for a particular guest which the purchaser then backs out of that's a potential sale that they've lost if they then can't sell it to someone else. Knitty Fred - I think it's only fair you'd lose a deposit; this works for most things you'd purchase with a deposit. This would be SM's gain when they then sold the ticket again. I cannot see SM being stuck with tickets they could not sell. There would always be somebody who had the money closer to the day, who didn't think they could afford it originally.
  2. I still like my idea of a deposit scheme for really expensive guests (say 10% of the overall price) to secure your Diamond pass, then pay off fully before the actual show....
  3. I think the green screen backgrounds are terrible; you may as well just Photoshop a photo you've taken at home!
  4. I don't think you understand the concept of a Diamond Guest. The majority of those listed have already appeared multiple times as standard guests.
  5. If a Diamond guest is going to be extremely expensive (say £400+) I would recommend allowing a deposit scheme. Pay £100 non-refundable deposit to secure your Diamond pass, then pay the balance over 3 months. It means my other half won't go as mental at me for spending that much money in one chunk! If the deposit is non-refundable, and somebody who reserves a pass doesn't pay within the allocated time, I'm sure you won't have any issues selling it again to someone who may have missed out. I know if a deposit scheme were offered, personally I'd be more likely to buy several different Diamond passes for various guests.
  6. So sad - she appeared as if she had years left in her! She was scheduled to do her stand up tour here in the UK shortly. I'm so glad I got to spend a tiny bit of time, one-to-one with her, several years ago in Edinburgh. She was one classy lady. RIP Ms Rivers.....
  7. Good suggestion! Actor, director, producer, Sundance founder..
  8. I had always hoped they'd manage to get Lauren to an Autographica sometime; never happened though.... She was an amazing actress, and sensationally gorgeous! Anybody who doesn't know her work, check out 'Key Largo', 'How to Marry a Millionaire', 'The Big Sleep', 'Mirror Has Two Faces', and 'Dogville'.
  9. RDA has done many an appearance over the years, so wouldn't be classed as a Diamond guest.
  10. What a tragic loss - cannot believe this...
  11. Wow, what a list!...... I think i'd go Diamond for most of these names!
  12. I saw the prices and it was like I think £325 for two nights in a twin room. So that's £162.50 per night, between two people. £81.25 per person per night is a bargain if you ask me!
  13. I can't even imagine who would be classed as Diamond guests. I suppose it has to be the likes of those who have done either signings or Conventions Stateside: Sigourney Weaver Sylvester Stallone Jamie Lee Curtis Quentin Tarantino Whoopi Goldberg Harrison Ford (has done private signings I think) I think a Diamond pass would be ideal for Michael J Fox. It would let him sign for the fans, without the added pressures of signing for three days solid. Personally I'd love to see some real Hollywood legends: Kirk Douglas Michael Douglas Robert Redford Dustin Hoffman Jane Fonda Dan Aykroyd Robin Williams Michelle Pfeiffer Gene Wilder Chevy Chase Nick Nolte Gene Hackman Anjelica Huston Melanie Griffith
  14. Hilton Olympia is really handy. Worth reserving a room as you can always cancel at a later date (and keep your eyes open for any of their weekend promotions that crop up from time to time too).
  15. Hotel is now booked for the weekend - just awaiting details of those new gold and diamond passes on the 1st September!
  16. I'd also like to know more about this above.... Everything else looks agreeable though. I love the fact Saturday will be pre-sale only; always grinds my gears seeing those on pay at the door getting in before presales! Glad SM are listening to the feedback and moving forward. Cannot wait 'til 2015!!!
  17. This is something I didn't experience, which day was this? This was the Saturday third photoshoot which I also experienced. Talie (I think it was; blonde hair, stood next to/nearest to Stan Lee) was very friendly and approachable. The other SM crew/staff inside the shoot however were not... EDIT: the guy organising the queue in Photoshoot A area also did an outstanding job!
  18. I was specifically told by Showmasters crew 'no touching, no physical contact' in the photoshoot. His own team however, were nothing but brilliant the entire weekend. I can only be positive about them; a great bunch of guys and a credit to Stan.
  19. Thank you, this makes me much happier. Reckon they will be ok with me getting a selfie with a go pro?;0 Selfie in a photoshoot is a big no-no....
  20. Cannot emphasise this enough!! Please people, personal hygiene is a must, especially with so many people in a confined space...
  21. http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=85065 Definitely cancelled; sorry!
  22. I had a card left by Royal Mail toady, which i'm presuming is my tickets i wouldn't worry too much, there is still plenty of time for them to arrive.
  23. Wondermoose, many thanks for the link. I love that clip of Shatner and the stormtroopers. You don't happen to have a link for the whole tribute as well do you...
