Well I think the reason many think it'll fail is that the last time Joss's vision was ignored in a Buffy movie... we got the horrific first movie, which was also directed by the same person who's directing this one. It might be brilliant, I'm not denying there's a slim chance of that but it's not a Buffy movie without Buffy and Joss, they're the two key elements that made the whole thing work and without them it is really just a attempt to cash in on the Twilight phenomenon and that's just not fair to fans, and not even asking Joss at all is disrespectful Though I understand why you didn't sign and I thank you for at least looking

I know who'd of thought I of all people would be against a Buffy movie... but I have a good reason. See when I envisioned a Buffy movie it had style, substance and Joss Whedon. It also had the cast that made the show famous and it actually had a character called Buffy in it. Well Fran Rubel Kuzui (She directed the first one, also known as the one that sucked) has decided that she knows what we fans want more than we do... and apparently the fans want a reboot of the franchise without any of the cast or Joss or characters. Her intent is to do a movie about another slayer but with Buffy as the hook... essentially. Now this is just offensive to me, if you're going to do a Buffy movie, you put Buffy in it. You then hand the script writing and directing duties over to Joss and say 'Have fun kids". You do NOT take the world we know and love, take away the big things that made that world work and then throw it back in our face and tell us to like it. That's what fran is doing. I'm not disputing the legality of it, according to law she owns the rights to the Buffy movie and can therefore do anything that she wants to it, but she should at least listen to the fans who say we want the characters we love. If you agree with me (And Anthony Stewart Head, who's also said he doesn't think the idea will work) then I beg you to sign this petition and put it up anywhere that you can HERE IS THE PETITION

I'm really of two minds on this one, on the one hand it's great that there's talks about a Buffy movie, it's nice to know that they still realize this is a fantastic series and really has such a rich story that they can easily give us a great movie so I am happy that they're in talks for a movie... however quite simply it is not a Buffy movie without either Joss or Buffy actually in it. There is no middle ground here, if you want to make a Buffy movie it has to have Buffy in it (And that Buffy must be SMG, she made the role famous and lets face it, when we think Buffy we think SMG) And Joss has to be involved at some point, Writing, Directing, Making the sandwiches ANYTHING. Plus I think I can speak for everyone when I say if they do a Buffy movie it's also got to include the scoobies, they're a huge part of why we loved this show. every character got to shine and they were all so well written, we had 7 years to fall in love with these characters and we know them inside and out... heck the fact that all of us are going to a convention to celebrate Joss's work is largely because he's been able to give us characters that we love. Giving us a whole new set of characters to try and like and root for in 2 hours is going to be difficult because anyone who see's a poster for Buffy the movie is going to expect to see the scooby gang facing an ultimate evil, not random slayer from the 1800's facing a really bad vamp. And one last thing... this is the woman who directed the original movie and while I know it's not her fault that that sucked (That goes to a certain actor who did rewrites and whoever decided to not let them burn down the gym amongst other rewrites) I'm still wary of letting her be the one who directs this one, why not get Marti Noxon or David Fury or possible Jane Espenson? Get one of the TV writers in there to handle script and directiong duties. We wouldn't be seeing this because we like vampire movies, we'd be seeing this because we love the TV series and want to see that up on the big screen And sidebar why's it taken them this long to do one? Firefly was canceled and got a movie (Which rocked but my point is valid), yet Buffy ran for 7 years and still yet to have one (No one counts the original as the Buffy movie we're waiting for, cos it's a very different ind of Buffy)... wow I rambled a little there didn't I?

I got to meet Amber Benson recently at an autograph signing, just as nice as I thought she'd be. Apart from that the only other thing I can think of is being in the audience for an Alice Cooper interview... mostly because seeing Alice Cooper in the full Alice Cooper get up talking calmly and sipping tea is the most bizzare image I've seen in ages
