  1. Dr Horrible for me. I have heard OMWF ruined too many times by over-enthusiastic fans singing the songs ever so slightly out of tune.
  2. Hi still wondering if anyone would like a roomie for Hub 4? I am in serious need of a room/ space in a room/ on a floor - I really don't mind and am willing to pay my way. I don't mind if its Park Inn or the Ibis. So if you would benefit from haing another person to share please let me know guys.
  3. Still keeping fingers crossed that someone might have a space and wanna share a room to split costs. And to Debs... thanks for the offer but if I send you a pic you will cheerfully withdraw your offer lmao!
  4. As a last minute attendee at Hub 4 I don't have a room sorted. Does anyone have room for, or want to share with a male attendee to keep costs down? Andy
  5. Any Dr Horrible guests, any of the Whedons, Julie Benz, Jenny Mollen, Summer Glau, Sarah Hagan... oooh too many to choose
  6. Absolutely 100% yes to a writers' panel at this or any other event (like Hallowhedon 2!)
  7. Hey I am from Cleethorpes and going to Hub 3! I have been to both previous Hubs so if you want to say hi let me know. I wrote the skit that was performed at The Hub by Barrowman and Co. How you getting there? Andy
  8. Another guy reporting for duty here! I will be at my third Hub thanks to Jason and crew who have sorted out my attendance issues as my reg letter arrived this weekend. I will be throwing myself into everything once again as I have done at both Hubs previously. I will be looking for anybody to hang with during the weekend and am a gold ticket holder. Andy
  9. Here's another wanting Freema! She has done the TV and the radio versions of Torchwood so she deserves to be treated as a viable cast member - even more so than say Indira Varma (who I ALSO want to meet) but Martha as a character is someone that spans two series Torchwood and Doctor Who and thus is of WAY more interest to me and I feel that if I don't say we want her then people will say "nobody said they wanted Freema" so here I am!
  10. I would love the chance to meet Freema at the Hub 3. I am only stating this fact because if people don't then some people on these forums suggest that NOBODY wanted the particular guest to attend. I have wanted to meet Freema from day one on Doctor Who and was delighted she was in the TV show AND the radio show of Torchwood. She has a place in Torchwood's pantheon and I really would like to meet her.

    Feedback

I just wanted to say before it gets lost in the criticisms, that I prefer the small logo on the front and another print on the back of the t shirts. It is my personal taste to wear t shirts like that. And by way of feedback on the event itself... Positives: The bag check system was more helpful run this way. The big schedules worked really well. Although I was a gold pass holder, I also sat elsewhere in the hall, including right at the back for Eve's talk with Kai and I felt that it was still a pretty good view although obviously had I wanted to take photos they wouldn't have been great. The screens at the side help enormously and the sound system was mostly very effective. I love the thought that went into the Saturday night party theme. It was really well judged and all the little extras (I don't mean the tribe of pygmies - though it could also apply to them as well!) added enormously to the atmosphere. Negatives: I was ill before I got to the event and missed stuff by going to bed early. Next time can Massive Events please ensure I don't get ill and/or send guests direct to my room so I can say hi?
  12. They also had the Wales v France game on at Eclipse last year as I was one of many who were sat in the bar watching it but that was on BBC1.
  13. Am very happy about this announcement and concur that James Moran would be a great bonus guest if Massive Events can stretch to it!
  14. Mine arrived safely so "the sequel" should now officially be on its way to Northampton!
  15. Wales's last Grand Slam match coincided with Eclipse at the Park Inn. I know cos I sat watching it there on the big screen. Not everyone enjoyed it and there were several English fans who were particularly bitter wishing the Welsh ill! I sat there biting my tongue as we went on to win. Still it didn't matter. Not many people at the con were bothered about watching it but its there if you want it. Rest assured. And I WILL definitely be watching it and wearing one of my many welsh rugby shirts! I would happily join with any other Taffs wanting to watch it and drink to their success.

    Being Human

So did anyone here watch it? What did you think? I thought it managed to be everything Demons would LIKE to be. I liked the re-boot since the original pilot and I thought the cast changes were appropriate and effective. Great choice of music as soundtrack too. All in all - I am a fan.
  17. Not from Yorkshire exactly but will be travelling from Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe.
  18. Thanks. To quote Ianto "Its what I do". I just wanted to contibute something memorable to a fun weekend for people. Hopefully we will witness a sequel to "The Nub".
  19. There are a couple of problems with publishing the script in any form to be honest. 1) The BBC owns copyright on the characters of Captain Jack, Ianto, Rhys and the weevils. To sell any copy of the script requires their permission. The versions thrown into the crowd would probably be excused as a parody but sale of said script would breach copyright if not licensed by the BBC. 2) The script was written by a writer who could also sue for copyright infringement if unauthorised copies are distributed. The script is not marked as copyrighted but it doesn't need to be for the writer (who retains copyright from the point of writing onwards) to exert his legal rights. 3) The only persons authorised to do anything with the script were Jason and the actors who were free to do as they pleased with their copies in terms of retaining them or giving them away but even they do not have the right to make unauthorised copies and thus cannot pass on permission to do so. I may sound like a complete killjoy here but I am only saying this as I was the person who wrote the script and as a professional writer, I make money from the sale of my work. This piece was only created to entertain attendees on saturday night, NOT to make any money as I wasn't paid to write it (and wouldn't expect to be, as I gladly offered!) it becomes a very different prospect if someone decided to make unauthorised copies and either distribute or sell them. Please consider that I rose at 5:45 am on Saturday morning to write the sketch in order to get it ready for Jason and the guys to approve and decide how they wanted to play it BEFORE the day's proceeding kicked off at about 8:30am. A lot of what went on onstage was played by ear but a fair amount of work still had to go into writing the piece to give the guys freedom to act crazy etc. I have been talking to Jason about writing further sketches for future events and will do so as long as people respect that these are purely meant to be for fun AT THE EVENT and not to be reproduced or to make money from. I would be less happy to contribute if I thought that fans weren't respecting that. Sorry if that disappoints some of you, but that's where it stands at the moment.
  20. Just adding my support for Freema at The Hub. I would LOVE To meet her there.
  21. At Eclipse the themed parties meant that the Main Hall was decked out in a themed fashion and attendees were able to dress up if they felt like it for the parties. On Friday night there was a high school prom with a band and balloons galore. People dressed mainly as jocks and cheerleaders but many people just went in their normal clothes. On Saturday night Cristine Rose dressed up as her character on Heroes, Angela Petrelli for the "Inaugural Ball" held to honour Nathan Petrelli and there was a Michael Jackson impersonator who performed before the main disco started. But it was still purely optional if you wanted to dress up. Having said that many people wore posh frocks and suits.
  22. I am all for the production side being represented at this event. I would LOVE to see a writers' panel Q&A and it could be interesting to hear from others involved behind the scenes too. Course, that doesn't mean that I don't wanna see the actors too! I'm just greedy!
  23. This is great news. Hope we might get one or two backroom bods to go with those who specialise in looking good in front of the camera!
