  1. My suggestion is mainly around the autograph area. 1) The autograph area needs to be 100% shut off from the stalls and other parts of the show. When I say shut off, I mean barriers of some kind going from one wall to the next with an entry point in the middle. 2) At the start of the day staff can be there to hand out the various VQ Tickets. 3) When people don't have a VQ Ticket that is within the allotted VQ Number then they should be forced to withdraw from the area and mingle within the rest of the event and come back when their VQ Ticket is within the allotted number. 4) Sufficient announcements/notification should be made of what VQ Ticket number ranges are called for each guest. 5) When someone's VQ Ticket number range has been called they make their way to the autograph area and show their ticket to the staff who check the status (i.e. VQ called range) of that guest and then let them through. 6) When someone has got their autograph they vacate the autograph area unless they have another VQ ticket (in called range) for another guest. 7) If a guest has an open queue then people are allowed through but should be requested to vacate afterwards and not congregate in the autograph area. The reason I feel the autograph area needs to be 100% shut off is because at every event (not just the recent one) people gather in the autograph area and wait for their number to be called. They take up unnecessary space, some don't care if they are in people's way, they block access to view the "small" notification of what VQ tickets have been called for each guest, and they generally add to the confusion of where the queue is, who's in the queue, what numbers have been called etc. So basically the autograph area should only contain those with valid called VQ number ranges at any given time (with exception of open queues)!
  2. That is down to the venue not event organisers. That is the most stupidest thing I have read in this thread. Just because the venue had the fire exits chained up then SM take no responsibility? They were hiring the damn venue, fire escapes and health & safety should have been their NUMBER 1 priority. So if we want to ask SM why the fire escapes were chained up then we should be able to ask them and they SHOULD be able to answer because they SHOULD have asked the same damn questions to the venue managers. As I said, the most stupidest thing said in this thread so far. As I mentioned in an earlier post I was merely saying that any locking of fire doors would have be done by Earls Court and not SM. I understand that, but did SM request them open, and if so why did Earl's Court not open them. It's still a legit question that SM can answer, unless of course they did not request them to be unlocked.

  4. Here it is: http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84605 And only a month before the event as well. I mean it's ridiculous.... secret trailers.... just another con to attract people.
  5. SM is a business that had no regard for health & safety on Saturday. They also have a duty of health and safety to the guest remember. They are guests not slaves and you can't expect them to work non stop for 10 hours. I never said anything about making the guests work non-stop for 10 hours. I was talking about health & safety for the ENTIRE event, which includes EVERYONE present. The queues outside the venue, the over-crowding inside the venue, the lack of aircon, the locked fire escapes..... do we need to go on because the list goes on.
  6. SM is a business that had no regard for health & safety on Saturday.
  7. Actually it is, but when it's that high it tends to be less of an experience for the customer.
  8. lol the surprises don't stop coming. Trailerfest = 3 trailers? One of which was for a film that's already released.... wow, just wow.
  9. Don't be an ass. I agree with buying tickets online, it's the way to go, always has been always will be. But that issue was small compared to all the other problems on Saturday. Crowd control, over-crowding, health & safety issues, lack of communication.... the list goes on.
  10. If only someone had taken photographs of it as evidence.... did anyone? hint, hint? Hint hint yourself, I did take photos and they've been included with a formal letter of concern, I was also speaking to other guests who have done the same. Ah i was hint, hinting in case you hadn't....
  11. I'm sorry but if I was part of the volunteering crew I would have left my post to help. What could SM have done if I left my post to help... not pay me.... fire me? Oh wait.... I was volunteering. How anyone, paid or not could not leave their post to help a parent who had clearly lost their child is shocking, absolutely shocking! This is not at SM but at those that didn't help, regardless of whether they were crewing or not. I'm sure it all turned out well in the end, but shame on anyone that didn't help.
  12. If only someone had taken photographs of it as evidence.... did anyone? hint, hint?
  13. I doubt the aircon was actually broken on Saturday considering it is apparently working today.
  14. What is an absolute joke? The fact that a 91 year has stopped because he may be exhausted or because people are complaining that he's not signing enough?
  15. I did read, and re-read the post above yours and still no-one is complaining about paying for autographs! What that post was complaining about was aircon not being turned on considering autographs are £10 minimum especially with the numbers of people that went yesterday. So please actually quote to me where people are complaining about paying for autographs!
  16. I met: Robert Knepper - very chatty and friendly, told us about his upcoming projects. Terry Farrell - also very chatty and very happy person. Jenna Coleman - very sweet girl, although not feeling well she was very polite and friendly. Bernard Cribbins - very friendly and just the same as he was in Dr Who! John Hurt - also another friendly guest.
  17. That does sound positive, but for many too little too late. Putting the air con on when there's less people and not so hot....
  18. No-one is complaining about paying for autographs. Clear you are not reading anything here and just stirring up trouble.
  19. You want more autos and less photos, but have you considered which out of the two is better, health wise, for a 91 year old?
  20. Stop throwing the ££££'s around! Stan Lee is 91 years old, show him some damn respect!
  21. Sandwich boards should be put at the end of the queues. How many queues are there generally? 3 maybe? So that's a total of 3 sandwich boards. Every now and then once the queue has extended far enough move the sandwich boards down to the new end of the queue. Is this really something that has to be taught to Showmasters by their customers? It is commonsense! Instead of putting all your focus and energy in to getting the big names try focusing for once on managing your events out of respect for your paying customers.
  22. I assume it was removed because somebody started threatrening legal action. That's usually a swift ticket to the "mods-only" area for any thread. Actually it was probably because of G1 which can be seen here: http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44730
