This story has made all of the UK print media today. I was surprised that some newspapers have given it between 1/3 and 1/2 a page..

From looking at the court reports etc, it seems that the biggest bone of contention was the actual amount that he is alleged to have earnt in the United States, and what he earnt outside of the USA. There was also representation that he is not worth anywhere near from the State Prosecutor said he was. But at the end of the day, what he has been found guilty of is listed as a crime and thus he has been punished. The only thing that confuses me, is why some convicted individuals in the USA do not go to prison straight away, but have up until a certain date to do so. Keifer Sutherland was due to split his imprisonment for DUI into two periods so as not to conflict with filming of 24 - this obviously changed when the strike hit - and other people in the media spotlight such as Snipes, Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie etc haven't gone to prison straight away. I guess in the USA that money truly does talk. If you look at the UK, they go straight to prison. Jeffrey Archer being a prime example in recent times. But hey ho..let's hope for Snipes' own good that he learns to file his tax returns...the Tax Man always wins..

This will more likely go to appeal and get reduced to a non custodial punishment. He received the maximum, and that is rare in the States for this type of offence. The Prosecution specified that he should get the maxium because he was famous and should be used as an example to non famous people. A bit harsh is an understatement.

I have just seen on BBC.CO.UK that actor Wesley Snipes was handed the maxium 3 year prison sentence possible for failing to file tax returns. More on this as it comes in. MSN Movie News Article BBC Webpage Article

I think that I must be one of a limited number who liked this film. As regards Alyssa Milano, hers was a small part and she has also been guesting in My Name Is Earl. Also, I wouldn't call it slumming as she is getting work. The film itself has done reasonable sums at the box office worldwide, so it can't be bad with everyone.

It will be interesting to see how they use him as King of the Ring. In early 2003, he suffered from a major heart ailment. It caused the lower half of his body to retain water and he gained close to 40 pounds. The doctors had to stop his heart and restart it for him to get better. I thought that the WWE would be using Regal sparingly after his health scare a while back. I read in numerous places that it is the reason he was chosen to be Raw GM as he had a brilliant on air character.

Just saw the three hour Raw and I was most disappointed. The King of the Ring was perfect for elevating someone up the ladder, but they give it to William Regal..*sigh*..Vince & Co dropped the ball on this one. Also, the fake Obama vs Clinton fight went on far too long..like every second it was on. The computer game version was much better. Only if Umaga could have come out sooner..

I would have thought that Mr Hellwig would have been sectioned by now. He is not one to keep his personal feeligns and views to himself. I will be intrigued to see what sort of shape he is in, and Orlando Jordan isn't going to make him look any worse then he was in his prime as he isn't that great a wrestler. Car Crash anyone?

They are filming the Christmas 2008 Special at the moment according to the BBC.

If you see someone in a particular role and/or format like a weekly show, it may be something different seeing them in another format such as a full length movie. It shows that Milo can adequately change roles with little or no problem. As Milo is not my favourite character in Heroes, I guess it was easier for me to watch the film without comparing him to his Heroes character.

It was good for Heroes that they won an award, but I was pulling for Family Guy. Mind you, aside from Californication which I just don't like, the nominees had three of my favourites in Family Guy, Heroes and My Name Is Earl. As regards Harry Hill...from my personal point of view, TV Burp has become boring as it is the same all the time. I know that it is dictated by the TV Shows it rips into, but variety is my preference in a show.

But the film is barely an hour and a half. I agree in that the film makeup was nothing new and ground breaking..but the on screen chemistry between Doctor's Gallow and Grey was what made he film for me. I thought the end part was something I didn't see coming as regards Dr Stravinsky helping him out. It was quite funny at the end last night when everyone walked out when the credits hit, but I hung around as I thought that there might be something at the end. And I was proved right when the 7 minutes to fall asleep ran out and they came back with a few seconds left to count. Mind you, there was a heck of a lot of nakedness in it. Didn't expect it when I went in.

Have smoked on and off for years. It is not a stereotypical addiction, and I can stop and go without for weeks whenever I want. I see no reason to stop, and my Doctor has never bugged me about it. He wants me to lose a few pounds in weight, even though my vitals are ok. So, smoking is fine for me personally and I get mine wholesale saving a packet.

I am not sure if it has been posted on here before, but I caught the recent UK release of Pathology starring Milo tonight and it was excellent. Great twist at the end, but a great film.

So BP..you are admitting to being lazy lol..classic...made me smile.. On a more serious note...I like doing research as it is a major part of my business. Plus, being an old git I have seen many of these celebrity cases over the years and the full truth gradually eeks out. It seems that reports from the States are hinting at the start of an agreement. Need to find out specifics as there are several conflicting reports of what the agreement may or may not be.

Hey there..after reading your post I did a little digging as I was most intrigued by what you had said. After reading the article on the link, I tracked down further reports regarding the Indian Festival incident and found some interesting facts that some sites have decided not to print. It is a matter of public record in India that the final ruling against the organisers of the event was because the event turned out to be a large scale commercially sponsered event including one sponser being a major Indian high street bank. It also turned out that the organisers were not religious charities and the event was set up near to an official religious festival. All reports by the Associated Press slating Rowling etc were later retracted after being proven to be false. It also turns out that the lawyers for Warner Bros - it was them who brought the law suit - only requested the $50,000 fine as under Indian law, Warner Bros Lawyers were told that they had to request a monetary amount. I also looked at other legal cases regarding Rowling/Warner Bros, and not including the injunctions against firms trying to sell the books before the launch and secrecy agreements, the total listed that I could find barely hits double figures. They include alleged copyright infringement arguments in both directions; alleged fraudulent e-books being sold on auction websites; one of libel against a major UK based supermarket chain and the infamous blackmail case in 2005 surrounding the Half Blood Prince publication. It is a shame that such cases are brought, but the alleged plaguerism of other people's work in many formats such as music, the written and spoken word and art itself is nothing new.

Having checked out more of the coverage regarding this case, I think that JK Rowling herself is getting some unwarranted bad press. Cases like this go on literally every day in court. There was a recent appeal court ruling overturning a decision regarding the rites to the Procol Harum song "A Whiter Shade Of Pale". If it wasn't for the fact that this particualr song was such an iconic one with a certain proportion of society, then we probably would not have had the press coverage that we did. The same goes for JK Rowling. If this hadn't been Harry Potter related, then it wouldn't have got the covergae it has done. In this specific case, from the court reports, JK Rowling is not seeking compensation but rather a cease and decist to the publication of the Potter Lexicon. As regards reports printed or posted of quotes, interviews etc...only the people present at the time of the interview know what was said, how it was said and in what context it was presented. I do understand that some of the remarks against Rowling are fueled by fans who may write/create themselves. I am someone who has written and drawn for many years, with some of my drawings taking inspiration from existing artwork. However, as I have printed previously, I do hope that the truth comes out. There is substance to Rowling's argument regarding ownership of her own work, and thus having some say in its use. I also agree that Rowling has stated that the reason she has gone from supporting the online Lexicon to opposing the print copy is because of the fact the print version is for commercial benefit and may well put a dent in her proposed encyclopedia where all profits are earmarked for charity; and the fact that the author posted on his website that he woudl not allow quotes etc from his website as it infringed his work. There are many pros and cons to this case, so lets hope it has a decent outcome where the fans do not lose out.

I tell you what, with the amount of "NEW" music released under his name I wouldn't be shocked if Pac suddenly appeared and said "I WAS JOKING!" lol.

I thought that I had read somewhere else that it was to do with the change of a government, and that has happened recently in Russia. But, upon closure inspection I see it is the change in British Government rulings..this damn cold is screwing with my eyes...

Ducky has been a long time nickname from my teen years as I had a "pet duck" on a farm near to where I lived. It was a wicked duck which I loved..even though the little devil nipped me when I first met it. The J bit is because it is the first letter of my surname.
