  1. More guests have been announced as well they should be on her momentarily.
  2. I don't think you have anything to worry about, I don't think anything conventiony is happening Friday - I think Friday is for registering and you can look around the exhibits and stalls. I think all of the events - autos and photos are happening Saturday and Sunday. However until they announce the schedule or guest days we simply won't know. buy not being able to attend on Friday I doubt you will miss anything significant.
  3. Thanks D4vem88, that's good to know. I've seen a couple I like so may have to make a purchase.
  4. This is the first time I've heard of Displates and have looked them up. How do they take the signatures with sharpies? Are they ok?
  5. I usually go on my own. I'm quite shy but try and make an effort to speak to people and yeah, you can have some interesting chats. At least when it's in line inside you know you have common interest with the people in the queue so can ask about what they are getting signed etc. At the last Winter con I went solely to escort a friend who had never been before but was desparate to meet Ralph Macchio. I could help make the day the best she could have by saying 'go here then, be there at this time.....' and she didn't spend the day stressing as she knew I knew the lay of the land as it were. We ended up chatting to a lovely lady in a Karate outfit and had a lovely time with the crew who could see how excited she was.
  6. Yeah, I didn't realise they would make it so quickly and then couldn't delete this myself :)
  7. On the off chance anyone hasn't seen the posts on twitter (As I haven't seen it on any of the facebook pages yet) they are making a few guest announcements for Sherlocked at some point today.
  8. You don't hav to be in fancy dress to go. I think you can go to both rooms, so you should be able to wander in an out as you please i'd imagine. I highly doubt the lead guests will be attending.
  9. The details of who is attending when have not been released yet and will be as soon as they have it all worded out.
  10. Although I guess they will announce the details as soon as they have them, he's not listed as a lead guest on the site so i'd imagine he's not going to be limited, really though, so far the only one who is limited is BC.
  11. You could inadvertantly start of a trend if you wear it outside. I didn't hate it and some of it was interesting to see, I just wouldn't class it as fantastic..... I hope you have a good time when you go and if you can post here after it would be nice to see what you thought. The crime stuff was interesting, I just wasn't that fussed about a load of pictures of street scenes as the Victorian era is very well documented and you do see that kind of stuff frequently. I thought it would have nice if they had been able to play full episodes or all of the films so people could see versions they aren't familiar with instead of looped snippets, but I imagine that would be a liscensing issue.
  12. I've just had a quick look and if you are intending to buy a Deerstalker at the exhibition they are £47. If anyone was wondering they have a blue silk dressing gown for £297 and a camel one for £670.
  13. Difficult to say really - I'd say no but I'd imagine many others will say yes. I personally wasn't that impressed with it and I do like going to museums and exhibitions. It's hard to have a whole exhibit I think on this kind of subject. The majority of the exhibition is made up of victorian life stuff - there are a lot of pictures of london roads at that time ect. There are some film posters from old Holmes films, there are lots of montages playing from various tv and film versions. There are some original works from Edgar Allen Poe (Which were nice to see) who's piece inspired ACD and a couple of surviving Mrs Beeton's that carried the first printing of the first story. They also have displays of victorian crime solving stuff. There is also a display case with props from films and Sherlock's Belstaff. Having said that it's not expensive for what it is and won't take you long to get round if you do want to go. I don't recall how much the deerstalkers were but the dressing gowns (based on the Sherlock version) they were selling wee extraordinarily expensive.
  14. The black/blue ink on black or dark backgrounds does happen occasionally unfortunately. When you get to the front of the queue ask for the colour you want or take one with you if you want to be sure - you can get the Sharpies in lots of different colours in most high street stationers. If you aren't taking your own items but want to get one of the free 8x10's signed I find it pays to have a look at what they have on the table before hand and you can have a think about what colour would work best. With the silver, gold and bronze just be aware that they take a little longer to dry so be very careful when putting away pictures or particularly when rolling up posters.
  15. The problem is there is always some people who will be at a disadvantage and their is no system to use where everyone can access the tickets at the same time. If they do them later, say 5/6pm a lot of people will be travelling home. (incidentally this often happens to me with the 7pm announcments - I just have to call my sister and ask her to check who it is and book tickets for me if it's someone I really want and don't want to risk waiting until I can get home) Later still there are other problems. If they do it really late so that the most people are home, there's always the people who work nights or have to get up really early to get to work. It's always sad when things like this happen but I hope you manage to get one in the next batch and have a great time meeting RDA.
  16. Not that it matters as it's sold out but I can't even see these sold out sessions in the shop.
  17. If they want to get as much in place before the tickets go on sale, yeah, they don't have time to string it out and it's not to their benefit to do so as I see it.
  18. I'd think the only time limit is how many tickets they have left for each package. Once they are gone they are gone.
  19. I personally don't think they will drag it out for too long as they simply don't have the time - we are only 9 weeks away so maybe we'll get an announcement a week? Here's hoping.
  20. I was lucky at the Hobbit premier in December, I got his full signature as well.
