  1. By the way if anyone is interested you can have a 'walk around' an empty Olympia on Google maps. If you hover the little man over the map they have mapped the inside.
  2. QS said earlier that there may be a revised plan up tomorrow but for now it won't show where the stairs are. Generally they and the lifts are around the edges of the room.
  3. Chocolate for everyone to cure it!
  4. Don't rely on local ATM's for top up cash as they are liable to run out with the huge number of people attending, use any machines a little way away from the venue if you pass any. I would guess that cash will be the more accessible option as everyone will take it.
  5. I've had a metal item signed and it was fine but can't offer any opinion on your item I'm afraid. Unless someone can reassure you I'd suggest that if you can afford it buy another one and a sharpie and draw on it yourself to see what happens.
  6. I always bring mints so I can have one just before getting to the guest! Regarding food I personally never bring any as I rarely want to eat at these events - too hot and too crowded, I prefer to just have something when I get home, but yes water is a must and there will be food venues there providing a good variety but it will be expensive.
  7. In the UK you don't legally have to have photo ID but most people do have at least one form or another. The most common photo ID's used would be a drivers license or Passport but plenty of people don't drive and they may also not travel overseas so may not have a passport either. A lot of larger companies require staff to have photo ID's but I don't know if that would count as a recognised form if ID - mine is just a laminated piece of paper with the company logo and my picture on it and looks like it could have easily have been made at home
  8. That's true how ever the stairs didn't cost £75.000 as it looks like in the original post there's a Comma instead of a Period I could be wrong but come on think about it ? 75 grand to build a stairs ? That's Temporary ? Nar I don't think so do you ? £7,500.00 is much more like it. To the original poster if sitting down on the floor is a problem to you I would recommend you pop into your local Poundland and get one of their fold up stools just right for places like this very handy and don't take up much room in your bag how ever they are SMALL and so how can I put this with out sounding to rude oh s*d it you know what I mean try it out in the shop first and see how you get on with it. I have one and shall be using mine through out the day but there again as I am skinny s*d its not a problem for me. That might be the best bet or as Wrong Name said use the seats for the smaller stages if you can. I have been to Olympia a few times and if I recall correctly there isn't any seating as such for the food places - most of them tend to be the kiosk type dotted around the edges (they certainly didn't have seating the last time I was there as the edges of the rooms are used as walkways usually and would get in the way), there was a Pizza Express with seating inside but obviously you'd have to be buying from them to use the seating and given how many people are going to be there I think seats will be harder to come by than a VQ for MJF
  9. They will be ok and as long as you are with him I'm sure you will be ok.
  10. Table photos won't be happening with the top tier guests I'd imagine so be prepared for that. They will want to get as many people through as possible and photo's slow things down.
  11. It's hard to keep track of things when they are being posted across all the different mediums. What was it you wanted to know Baggie?
  12. Some people like having them, if it's a nice picture maybe.
  13. Your points are all valid. 1. It's causing too many issues to have them available on the day. However many they would have available you are always going to have a lot more people turning up, and we aren't talking 20 or 30, we are talking of hundreds. This causes massive queues and very angry people who will have paid out for travel etc to not be able to get in. 2. Unfortunately that is the way things are these days. They would have to get someone with a card to pay and then pay them back. 3. That's what the event is about though. The stars. 4. Possibly but that's easier said than done. There aren't that many huge venues to choose from and they are often booked with other events. 5. As no 4. 6. Nothing. To be blunt, they will have to go. If they have travelled all the way down without checking the details on line it'll be a hard lesson for them. 7. Sometimes it happens. Speak to the crew if you see it though and they can help. If barriers are needed SM will use them 8. Jason has said in the first post about a buy back/sale through SM scheme plan. 9. Agreed. Space is key, especially considering there are buggies, wheelchairs and cane users.
  14. All tickets for Saturday and Sunday have been sold. There will not be any on the day tickets for those days. I think some are still left for Friday though at the moment.
  15. it would certainly be interesting, a friend was a real fan of James Horner and adores the work of a couple of the other big composers as well and would probably love to be able to chat to them. Not sure how popular they would be overall though.
  16. I think Murray Gold's work is fantastic, some of the ones he has composed for Dr Who are amongst my favourites.
  17. They may have only just discovered the event. It does happen. It might be that the guest they most desperately want to meet in all the world is going and they just have to come.
  18. Probably. We won't get a list of what stalls will be there and there's no guarantee that they will sell the pictures you want, but there usually are and they usually have stuff to do with the main guests attending the show but don't take it as guaranteed.
  19. Taken from the ticket site re Gold tickets: Talk Tickets Gold pass holders will get free seats at all standard free or paid for talks taking place during show open hours. (Exceptions will be for diamond package guest talks, any talks that are considered additional promotional/event activity or guests that we may have to exclude for film promotion purposes or other reasons. This could include sponsored talks or exclusive event content.)
  20. I think you might, I think talks with diamond guests in aren't included but one of the mods will confirm.
  21. It's like anything in life, prices are proportional. I wouldn't expect the top tier guests to only be charging £25 as much as I would like them to. However the entry is a set price, if people want to sell it on for face value that's fine but prices like that are done for no reason other than profit on the side of the seller meaning that people who genuinely want to attend, the ones these events are aimed at are loosing out and being fleeced. Yes it's their choice to pay it but if it's the only way they can get a ticket.....
  22. On the door just isn't doable any more. You can't tell the public that you will only have x amount on the door because you will still get thousands turning up hoping to be one of those to get one.
  23. Usually the big signers are separated behind panel walls so they can't be seen from the outside - it means you don't get loads of people hanging around outside hoping for a glimpse.
