hi, it's now4 weeks till the big day, and is it me or is the guest list looking empty!? I know that showmasters normally pull it around (mods please don't state the guests can be added up until the event, will only be added once they're signed etc) but at present there is no one that takes my interest. As a ball park, how many more people can we expect? Are you workin on any big guests? I know you can't say much but not much has happened on here in terms of guest announcements for ages (rescheduling doesn't count)

The number of guests booked is usually dependent on who is available at the time.

However I don't know if you saw it, but Jason said that they were now cracking on with booking the guests for LFCC, so hang on there.

Didn't we have a crazy number like 87 guests last time or something like that?

Obviously you and I don't share the same Fandoms, as it already is, I'm hoping that we don't get too many more fabbo Guests announcedas my budget is stretched enough as it is with:

Gillian Anderson.
Mitch Pileggi.
Nicholas Lea.
Zach Galligan.
Ke Huy Quan.
Anthony Michael Hall.
Michael Winslow.
Gates McFadden.

In four weeks time there will be some culling to be done.

Yep, I saw it. I swear to Yoda I may have to be seeing myself sweet talk my Bank manager. And even more guests to come will see me cutting Guests like never before.

Last time I know there were a lot - and when there is a lot, then you have people who wonder who to go for, who to meet and considering prioritising with who on the list is more important :)

79 is a good number :-) Yes, i agree, guests are completely subjective, Gillian Anderson is a good guest, but I wouldn't spend 45quid on her - I liked the x files but not that much. I won't mention all the above but some of the names mean nothing to me ;-) I like who, although if i'm honest I have alot what I want now, I like potter guests, i'd like merlin, any action film ones. It only ever takes 1name to make an event, and that name's different to everyone. If bill nighy went I would be bankrupt. Last year it was Chris Lloyd.
Anyhow, if there is going fun.e 80 (guess) that's 3a day ish! Looks like fun.

Well we've decided based on guests at the moment, it isn't worth the inital layout, it would have to ha major guests for us to reconsider!!! Like I dunno...tbbt, or something like that.

Always going to come down to personal opinion .. both on the guests already announced, and on any potential "big" guests etc!

There's WAY more for me at this event than there was at MK..

so is it likely there will be a similar number of guests to previous years, or is it intentionally scaling down number wise? I thought the show was growing, and expecting more announcements to last year at this point. We've only really got 2weeks for announcements as normally not many are announced really late, although i know they COULD be!? I'm just trying to plan whether i come or not :-)

yes, but as it's mentioned above, we prob like different types of guest. There must be other people eagerly awaiting someone they like, or is it just me!?

I downsized abit last year when it came to which autographs I got, but this year Im really gonna just extend my budget if needed. In other words, screw the budget

I'm going to close this topic as it's going no where.

Only 2 months ago we had posts complaining that LFCC was getting all the best guests and C18 was getting left behind. As always happens in the 6-2 week period leading up to an event, 10-15 really great guests have been announced and C18 has filled up.

So now we get the "why has C18 got more guests?" threads. Well quite simply because it's on in 2 bleeding weeks, and so this will be pretty much the final guest list.

The same will happen with LFCC, over the next 4 weeks we'll get a number of great guests and LFCC will fill up.

So basically give it a chance! This happens EVERY year!
