Recommended Posts

Hey, is anyone staying at the doubletree hotel for this con? Has anyone stayed there before to give me a heads up to what it's like :)

it's lovely, you get warm cookies when you check in and the rooms are really nice. The bar area is nice and they do good food in there.

Anything that greets you with warm cookies must be good :D I'm tempted to book a room for two nights and as theres a bar it's been made more likely :D

It's nice..I stay there. They now make you pay a £100 refundable security deposit on check in and also make a note of if you are there for Collectormania or not since they had some trouble in the past apparently.

It's one of things where they swipe your card but only charge it if they need to, which hopefully in most cases they wouldn't need to.

Yeah that's fine, I don't intend of smashing up the room or stealing the TV so I should be alright :P

All booked :) £143 but for the fact that it's so close to the con it doesn't matter :)

slightly dearer than what I paid but it's a bit cheaper booking in advance and using the Hilton Honours code. Tbh it's not much dearer than staying at a lot of the Premier Inn unless you get one of those £29 room deals and it's so much more convenient just to get up and stroll nextdoor at just after 9am and walk straight in

Yeah, it's £50 a night if I book now for cmnk23 dates, like you said, not much more pricey than a premiee inn really!

nice hotel, staff really friendly. can't beat it for location. last time i was there my room overlooked the pitch! If it were my local team Wolves i'd draw the curtains.

I didn't think £143 for two nights for a good hotel that close to the convention (2 weeks) was bad, so I'm not complaining :D

Not bad at all mate..it's a quality hotel and of course it's convenient. I drive up on the Friday, park outside the hotel and that's my base sorted for the weekend. I stayed at the Caldecott Premier Inn and wasn't overly impressed..it was what it was but didn't cost me much less than I have paid at the Hilton. The bar is nice and the food is good at the Hilton so you'll be fine.
