Sco4one5
I think the Jurys Inn is even closer than the Arora (oh that looked so nice if I didn't live in Manchester I'd stay there but I didn't check the prices). Some countries have a scheme where if two people are going in the same direction then they can share a taxi but this isn't the case in the UK. We have black cabs/hackney cabs (like the ones you see in films about London) which you can hail in the street. If you can't find one go to a taxi rank and you can wait for one to turn up. In the evenings there are taxi 'marshalls' who make sure people don't queue jump. Otherwise we have minicabs which are privately owned and need to be prebooked by telephone. The taxi rank at Manchester Airport Terminal 1 is out the exit and turn left but should be clearly signposted. If not just ask someone ... I found the dumb tourist act worked very well providing I smiled oh and make you accent really obvious. Never hurts at all to get to know people before you come but your at an advantage to me as you already speak the language whereas in the Netherlands I didn't know anything but please and thankyou but I'm so grateful so many people spoke English. 909057[/snapback] Oh, I cannot thank you enough. You are an angel and such a huge help. Along with Collectorsmania, are there any place to see, eat or shop that you would suggest or recommend? be_insane
Well... after travelling up to liverpool first by train (managed to blag accomodation from relatives! ) we will be training it over from there... Actually, been looking into traing details and it looks like it's best to get off at Manchester Oxford Road? I know this isn't one of the major stations but seems to be closer and trains from Liverpool go through there before getting to Piccadily. Anyone know roughly how long it'll take to walk from there? looking at the map think it'll be about 10 mins?!

Its about a 5-10 min tram ride from the train station to the venue.

Qball
There is a fast train link from the airport to piccadilly station in the centre of manchester, then decide the best way to get to your hotel from there. http://www.manchester.gov.uk/townhall/venues/location.htm

Johnny
im getting the train from Leamington via New Street on the Friday. Theres a taxi rank right outside the station and its its close to the tram stops. I kmow most of my way round as i went uni there for year. If in doubt i would suggest to get a taxi. Im staying at the premier travel inn and according to multimap its a mile from the station.
