  1. I see the online shop has now been amended - now showing £10 and not £15 for the photoshoot. Thanks for clarifying SM.
  2. While I follow what you say BasG, the page announcing Chris Rankin's appearance also suggests £ 10 for each. Just trying to clarify which is right before booking online and possibly paying too much.
  3. Chris Rankin is listed as £ 10 for both autograph and photoshoot here but on the tickets page the photoshoot is £ 15. Which is right ?
  4. Clint Eastwood at the World Premier of White Hunter Black Heart in 1990 in an Edinburgh cinema during the International Film Festival. I remember the encounter well - not sure he will though because he spent the duration of the film in the Cinema bar and only returned about 5 minutes from the end. He very kindly signed three photos for me though so it was a happy encounter !
  5. No problem that would be fine. I really enjoyed meeting him - he might remember that he was my "impulse" buy !
  6. Here are my photos : https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.803436432999931.1073741843.100000007459849&type=1&l=70fb2e10f2
  7. Is anyone from Showmasters aware that the autograph prices page on the website for MK21 is still showing the list from the November event ? Sorry if this has been raised with you before through this forum but I thought you should know.
  8. Any significance to the lack of announcement of particularly footballing connected guests that this convention falls on the weekend of the FA Cup Final this year ?
  9. is Gordon Banks still attending as there appears to be no photoshoot on the Sunday despite being mentioned in the website list of opportunities ?
  10. Anyone fancy Edinburgh given that it was the location of Arthur Conan Doyle's birth ?
  11. I apologise for being so dumb that I did not see the other thread. I was in the main website and saw there were no sporting guests as yet and thought I would ask the question. Looking back to last year the earliest sporting announcements were made 4th January so I do not think it was too unreasonable a question in light of that. I am also well aware that if there is any news it will be posted here and to the site but, having attended the last 3 May MK conventions travelling a round trip of around 700 miles by car each time, I am currently undecided about coming this year and as I have enjoyed meeting a number of my own sporting heroes over those 3 years. news on that front may sway me one way or another.
  12. Normally by now there would be at least a handful of announcements about Sporting guests. Any news yet for this one ?
  13. To add my tuppenceworth for what it is worth - I agree that I have seen the prices creeping up and with a family of 5 of us have to consider carefully each time I plan to attend whether I can do so within our annual budget. However, with the prices at Milton Keynes you have to bear in mind no admission charge is actually levied. Showmasters are a business like any other and need to turn a profit to allow them to put on bigger and better shows. I don't like some of the prices I see but..................................some memories are priceless.
  14. Just an observation but it is not the star who is charging the amount quoted. Showmasters will pay a fee for the presence of the guest concerned and then they will set the price at the rate they think people who attend will pay.
  15. Saw you at MK on the Sunday but did not think to get a photo with you from your Indiana Jones personas. Love the photo with John Rhys Davies. Well done - best Cosplaying I have seen yet.
  16. Here are my photos from the weekend https://www.facebook...=1&l=764e0859cf I would also like to place on record how much I enjoyed the event and Showmasters should take a huge amount of credit for what was achieved. The speedy delivery of photos at the photoshoots was amazing compared to the last 3 years and this is the first event I had experienced this. It is wonderful to walk away from a celebrity and be handed your photo. Thanks to the crew who helped advise when there were clashes in timings - I managed to get to all that I wanted and get the photos I was hoping to get during the weekend. My son and I attended all 3 days and my only suggestion for the future would be to consider having a reasonably big name to attend for the first time on the Monday in future as it seemed a little flat for us but only because the big names who remained had been there all weekend. Well done to all concerned. It augers well for the future.
  17. Did anyone get photos of the two who were cosplaying as Harrison Ford and Sean Connery on Sunday ? If so can someone post a photo as I did not manage to get one of them. Thanks
  18. I met them all and have to say what great company they all were. I spoke to them all individually - it was a walk down memory lane for me as the first live game I ever saw was a pre-season friendly between Greenock Morton and Leeds United at the start of the 1971-72 season which ended with them winning the F A Cup. I really enjoyed talking to them all and am so glad I have now met them. Also a really funny moment with Paul Reaney wielding a golf club against a cosplayer with a lightsaber. Won't forget that one for a while.
  19. Psychlepath - I have been to the last three MK conventions and there have never been photos delivered that quickly there. I got a group photo with the Red Dwarf crew the last time they attended but it is only signed by Chris Barrie and Danny John Jules because it did not come back before Robert Lllewellyn had to leave. I know things improved for LFCC but I have not seen this in person as it were. I hope you are right.
  20. They are bound to do a joint photo shoot. You might be able to get a photo with them and you in it and maybe have time to get it signed instead of a cast photo. All depends on time it takes for photos to come back after the shoot. Just a suggestion.
  21. Last year 9 of the successful 11 players attended MK 18. Only Gerry Byrne did not attend due to ill health from the 10 originally booked. Is there any chance of Gerry attending this year - and also any chance of Roger Hunt to allow those like me who bought a signed team photo to complete the set ? Yours hopefully !!!!!
  22. How about Greg Rutherford who won gold in the long jump on that memorable Saturday night - after all he is from Bletchley !
  23. I will start by saying that I have had a great weekend in Milton Keynes. The weather was not great but the opportunity to meet so many great people totally outweighs something that is outwith anyone's control. I do however have once main concern that arose out of the weekend - the possible thorny question of the queue at the organiser booth on Saturday morning. My son and I travelled down from Edinburgh on Friday evening - I had to work Friday - arriving in MK at 1.30am. We got to the stadium as early as we could but were still at the end of the queue round by the Asda side of the stadium. It was also not clear if there were separate queues for Karen Gillan / John Barrowman in the way there had been for Alex Kingston last year. Although the queue moved fairly quickly, we got into the stadium to then find a very long queue for tickets for photo shoots. I was confident that we would get most of what we wanted but our main concern was my son wanted a photo with Paul McGann. While tickets may have been on sale online prior to the event, the actual timing of the shoots was not announced (as far as I am aware) until after the online sale ended. We were very tight for time - the shoot was scheduled for 9.50am and by 9.45 am we were still well back in the queue. We were then told that for shoots about to take place that you should move to the front of the queue. However, in doing so you would only be able to buy tickets for these specific shoots anmd not others for later in the day. We therefore had no choice but to split up and my son headed off to the front - or at least a few bodies nearer the booth than I was. In the end all was well as my son (some of you may remember him as he was dressed as the Phantom of the Opera) got his shoot......................... but only just! Would it not be a better idea to have two or more queues for such eventualities ? If two, one could be clearly marked for "popular guests" or "immediate" shoots and the other for all other later shoots / talks. If it was dealt with in that way people are travelling from distance on the day they would still have less of a panic than might otherwise be the case. In our case all was well in the end and I am sure it will be likely that Showmasters will take the view that the organisation all worked because of that. That being so, I would not agree fully with that view - but I am speaking from having experienced LFCC where I drove from South Wales on the day to get a photoshoot with the cast of Being Human and was then directed into the wrong queue in the first place. MK is smaller scale than LFCC in terms of attendance numbers but there were a lot of people in our queue at MK who were expressing the same concerns at the time. Just thought I would raise it as a possible suggestion to improve things for the future.
