  1. Last year, I didn't get to all of the main hall talks, but I made sure that I attended enough over both days to see all the guests (eg. I didn't see Andrew Scott on Saturday as I was queuing for BC's photo shoot, but made sure I saw his talk with Mark Gatiss on Sunday). Doing it that way meant I saw all the guests on stage, got autographs from 99% ( I missed out on Louise's), and got photos with everybody.
  2. Hi! I'll have to do a bit of horse trading with my managers (and hope like crazy) before I can try to book anything. The dates are slap bang in the middle of Registration at my university. I may be able to use time off in lieu for weekend work over the summer, but I'm not sure.
  3. Hello everybody! Have you seen the Facebook post? http://bit.ly/SherlockedUK Cheers!
  4. It's been fun reviving the memories and reading a transcript of Andrew Scott's solo talk, which I missed because of Benedict's photoshoot.
  5. Bradley Cooper (a few years before he hit the "A" list!) Victor Garber (after thinking he wouldn't make it to the con.) Andreas Katsulas (kindly given, with the organiser's permission, at an unorthodox time during a con.) Robert Patrick (surprise late addition to a con line up) The really special one for me is:- Frank Langella The story? I got his autograph at the stage door at Plymouth Theatre Royal in 1990. I'd had a lousy final year at H.E. college, losing my father to cancer in October '89, and then having the shock of a college friend dying suddenly over the Christmas holiday. Going to see the play "Abracadaver" in June, after my finals, was the "prize" for all the s#** I'd been thorough, and it was completely unexpected, as this production was supposed to be going on in London. To this day I don't know the reason for the change, but I'll never forget the day I found out he was going to be in Plymouth! I felt that all the weight I'd been carrying was suddenly lifted from my shoulders. It was a wonderful surprise, the play was great fun, and I have loads of happy memories.
  6. I am SO going to the next one!
  7. I did as well, and I have just found this little titbit... https://www.facebook.com/journeyboundmovie
  8. BIG "WHAT IF?" If there was to be a Sherlocked 2, wouldn't it be nice to see the following guests? Leads - Martin Freeman (John) Amanda Abbington (Mary), Timothy Carlton (Pa) Wanda Ventham (Ma) Guests - Vinette Robinson (Donovan), Phil Davis (Jeff), Russell Tovey (Henry Knight), Lindsay Duncan (Lady Smallwood), Yasmin Akram (Janine), Tom Brooke (Wiggins). We can dream, can't we?
  9. I usually do the hotel-based cons, and I have only been to one or two of the LFCC style events, so as this was a hybrid, I wasn't really sure of what to expect. As I wasn't staying "on site", I knew I wouldn't be able to go to the parties, but from earlier comments, it looks like I didn't miss anything. Friday night was bit of a scramble in 2 hours. The queue for the props/costumes museum was long, and when I finally got in, it was a bit too crowded to take clear shots. I went back in the last half hour on Sunday and got good shots of everything. The bus was a fun item, I wasn't expecting that! the John Watson exhibition again was a bit crowded. I got shots of the 2 posters, and will print them large enough to read all the text. I managed to get photo shoots with everyone I wanted. It was a bit mad on Sunday afternoon though, as I had to go to Rupert and Mark's later shoots, in order not to miss the "Ladies of Sherlock" talk, but that was my only horrible clash as a Gold group D. Benedict and Lara's shoots were a bit of a sausage factory, but if a guest is only there on one day, what else can you do? He was suffering from a cold, but you wouldn't have known it, he was very courteous to everyone. She had just come off the back of a full week of performances in "Gypsy", but was wonderful with everybody. Shout out to both! As for autographs, I managed to get Rupert, Jonathan, Lars, Clive and Elizabeth in quick succession on Saturday afternoon. I managed Andrew and Lara's on Sunday morning,Sue and Una's in the afternoon, and thanks to a very understanding crew member, Steven Moffat's at 5:30 pm on Sunday. She let me out of the queue to go to Mark's photo shoot, and back in at the exact point I'd been standing. The only one I completely missed was Louise Brealey. The queue always seemed to be enormous, and eventually I gave up any hope of getting her signature. It was the only bad point of the whole weekend. I also managed to see more of the talks than I thought I would. I missed Andrew's solo talk on Saturday as I had to get a photo with Benedict, but saw his hilarious talk with Mark on Sunday. By the way, I'm sure I heard him singing the James Bond theme at some point in his Saturday talk. Can anyone tell me what he said about his part in the new movie? Over both days I did get to see every guest on stage at some point. Other memories.... The poor woman standing in Una's photo shoot queue on Sunday afternoon, with her fingers in her ears, as she knew the loud bang would be coming from the SFX display. Chatting with the lady from France about Wolf Hall while waiting for Mark's photo shoot on Sunday afternoon. Rupert Graves saying, when the questioner asked if Lestrade was still married, he thought poor Greg would be visiting Spearmint Rhino. A lot of us laughed, but the questioner didn't know what he meant and it had to be explained. The reason I mention this, is that on Monday after the con, I decided to have a walk through London before getting my train in the afternoon. After grabbing a coffee at Speedy's, I was strolling from Euston Square Station down Tottenham Court Road and suddenly saw the canopy outside the club entrance! Weird, but funny!
  10. Oh my god,yes - you must all have one huge arm like Popeye's by now! Thanks for being so great, though - I heard loads of people voicing their appreciation and I told every yellow shirt I could how grateful I was. I spoke to several of the crew over the weekend and thanked them for their hard work. Doing a customer service role myself (I work in a busy university library) I appreciate receiving good service and will always say so when I get it.
  11. Agreed! He kept the queue for Lara's shoot on Sunday afternoon wonderfully organized.
  12. No s#1!, Sherlock. Sings.... "It's been a long road, getting from there to here. It's been a long time, but my time is finally near..."
  13. Maybe I'm not quite as bad as you, but it's been something similar this week where I work. Sings.... One more day to go, One more day of sorrow.... Pack my case Lock up my place And I'll be there tomorrow!
  14. That's what I'm going to do. I decided that for the "1 episode" guests, I would concentrate on getting their autographs instead of the photo shoots (I suspect my pre-assigned autographs will be theirs ), so it would leave me more time to go to enough talks to see most of the guests on stage. Between photo and autograph opportunities, I should get to meet all the guests at some point during the weekend.
  15. I feel your pain! Would you feel mine as well? I'm dosing myself with anti-histamines at work this week due to an unexpected allergic reaction to god knows what!
  16. Am I correct to assume that the autograph queue groups will be staggered, as with the photo shoots?

    Planning!

Hi! I printed out the schedules, and did the following. Photo shoots are highlighted in green, and talk times in orange. Any time that I could be checking out the autograph lines is marked a the right hand side in red. I have a clash between "Ladies of Sherlocked", photo with Mark and photo with Rupert on Sunday, so I'm going to the talk and I will join the later sessions for the photo shoots, as I'm not going to any of the other talks that day. Group D seems to be split between 2 sessions for a lot of the photo shoots anyway.
  18. Hello! I got a bit confused with the Louise Brealey groups, but then remembered my email, which said my photo with Louise would be on Sunday, No more confusion! Just trying to work out where to fit autographs in!
  19. Anyone coming from another part of the UK who doesn't have an Oyster card, can use a contactless debit or credit card (provided it was issued in the UK) and still pay the Oyster single fares. Just make sure you take the card out of your purse/wallet to use it so you don't accidentally scan another card as well, and you should be fine.
  20. My train only gets in to London Euston at 13:05 pm, so I won't be able to join you at Speedy's in the morning. I have found out though, that it isn't too far away from where I'm staying, so I should be able to take my camera and get a photo, and a coffee there, before I go to Excel to register. I'm aiming to get to Excel for about 5 pm.
  21. Chocolate covered and 3 in a pack? I've bought those at the Student Union shop where I work, and they're delicious! A bit expensive though.
  22. I think it's because for this one, we waited about 12 months from the first announcement to actually getting a venue and a date. It's also a big event, not your usual hotel-based con, and probably won't run again, at least in the UK. People just don't want anything to go belly-up at the last minute.
  23. I've booked a photo shoot on the 221B set. I'm also thinking of ordering a crate of Red Bull..... It's going to be very busy!
  24. That's what I'd like too! Thinks..... if 221B is part of the set displays, maybe we could get photos sitting on the ground in front of it (to make it appear as if we were on it). Do it on the Friday night when it's quieter, and we might get away with it, as long as we didn't try and walk on to the set?..... unthinks.
