QUESTION: If a guest is having a photo opp does that mean...
sydney_bristow replied to nicky's topic in Collectormania MK
I completely agree and have been quite vocal about this. It seems to be the trend all the major shows are following. -
Now that IS good news

I am so happy about this as I didnt get to meet him at LFCC -
Superb.....I used to love the old guessing games dave used to tease us with
-
And he was in spiderman 2 (albeit briefly)
-
If he was in ROTJ - I am suprised that he hasnt been approached to do a signing.

A thought about no photos allowed...

I saw prince recently - there were fanatical about cameras and phones -
I cant beleive he made the costume himself. I thought it looked extremely professional and that he was part of UK Garrison or such.

Latest Guest Announcement - Greg Grunberg
sydney_bristow replied to AmberB's topic in Collectormania MK
He is amazing, when he came here for another convention a few years back he was in the bar of the hotel. He was messing about and tied a table cloth round his head and was posing with people as "Jedi Grunberg." Sadly I cant link the photos as its on another organisers site. -
Yeah that was him

About the same size as Kenny baker

I didnt see the stormtroopers. I just assumed they were there as I saw the Ewok, dont know if he is part of the UK garrison or a new addition?
-
Did anyone else see the Ewok walking about on sunday lunchtime? the kids seemed to love it - A nice addition to the usual stormtroppers I thought. I also liked the Aliens very effective

Photos during signings

This is something that has worried me since photoshoots were introduced, we were told it was an enhancement and wouldnt stop people having photos over the table etc. Aside from expected the photo ban on the heroes guests, which is logical I cant understand why other guests such as William Mapother had this? Even when they had no queue? Last year the top guests such as Jorge Garcia never had these. I also think about the people who were shunted through the heroes signing queues, and the people who couldnt meet them, yet people could have the professional photo shoot which took up time they could have been signing. Not saying its a bad thing, as I paid for the professional photoshoot. Just something to bear in mind. Another show has simply banned all posed photos completely, even if a guest is sitting on their own all day, one such guest told me that they put them under contract not to do it. I would hate showmasters to go the same way as the other event. Then why allow a photo shoot that takes up 1-2 hours when time could be spent could be signing? once again not trying to cause trouble, just curious -
Perhaps a layout of where the guests would be could be put in the programs? I spent 40 minutes trying to find Danny Dyer. I think it was in the programs last year

Although I have had issues with crew previously. I found them all very pleasant this time round, especially the blonde lady standing in front of Milos queue with the writing on her shirt and the guy and girl organising the photo queue for Milo and Adrian were cheerful and nice despite being under obvious stress.

If I had the time I would trawl through your older posts refering to shows when gold passes didnt exist and paste them on here. I think criticism is good as long as its constructive and taken on board for the future, thats the whole point of forums like this, is it not? No show is ever going to be perfect, but how else are the organisers going to improve without feedback, sorry "complaining."

I find this all troubling. I like everyone else brought mine on the day in cash, and got no receipt. All I have is a tiny piece of paper with the same number that everyone else has, anyone can say they have not received their photo. Without meaning to cause any trobule what if the photo card corrupts, or something goes wrong - how do I claim a refund? Showmasters dont know who I am and I dont have a reciept, £30 down the drain and no photo. Once again I am not causing trouble or panic, just concerned and thinking. Next time could showmasters provide some form of individual numerical reference per photo taken or provide reciepts? Just making constructive suggestions Other than this a fantastic day was had

Cons The venue was too dark Big guests seated together - the chaos on sunday morning trying to get VT as all the "queues" were getting mixed up Two sets of VT being given out for Hayden Expensive & limited food - I have a wheat allergy and therefore couldnt buy anything in there. Pros Variety of guests Friendly guests, didnt have a problem with any of them. Michael Gross and Louise Fletcher were fantastic The crew were great, cheerful, even at the end of Sunday

I couldnt agree more. I got my Milo ticket and then joined another queue for haydens (as instructed by a steward), ended up in a a scrum of people only to be in dominick Monaghans queue. I was then directed into another queue, which happened to be Jack Colemans! Eventually when I was in the right queue two stewards were giving out hayden tickets to anyone who asked and could reach, so the queues were pretty pointless anyway. This is what i cant understand, photo sessions are great, yes, but what about the people that cant meet the guest because there is an hour less to sign? Surely if photos were allowed over the desk (not specifically the heroes lot, but other guests as well) this would lessen the professional photo queue ? I would be happy to fork out £15 for an over the desk shot (they do this at some american cons) on my camera, therefore not having to queue, wait for it to be developed etc, and still have the option of paying for a pro photo being taken if I chose. Other than that a fantastic day.....

Couldnt agree more - the madness that happened when the doors opened at 10, all the queues were getting mixed up. i couldnt beleive they were all seated together. I couldnt even get in the queue for Milo when my ticket number came up because of the swarms of people.

Like I said above I am really annoyed as I asked at 11 at the organisers booth and was told they were not going on sale till tomorrow.
-
I am slightly put out by them going on sale today. I went especially today just to see if they were on sale and at 11am I was told they wouldnt be on sale till tomorrow
