  2. one thing i think might be a bit better is that everyone only goes up to each guest once, they get the free auto and any other extras they want but say with a limit of 5 per person or something rather than people having to wait around and come back if they want more than the one free one plus one other :)
  3. i'm going to be stewarding the event so if anyone needs help with directions to places in northampton i'll be able to help :)
  4. tHANKS FOR THAT INFO! Oooops So guess taxis will cost a fortune - hope there are busses! If you want to share a taxi with 2 others let me know :) i live in Northampton so wont be abel to do that, sorry not sure on the buses, but the bus station isnt all that far from the hotel so you can always pop over and ask :)
  5. it will take you all of about 30 seconds to actually be in the town centre of northampton from the park inn. there is a macdonalds not far away for breakfasts if you so desire, i believe the weatherspoons pub does breakfasts although im not sure what time they open, there is another cafe close by but ive never eaten in it so not sure what their brekkies are like. there is a sainsburys in the grovenor shopping centre which would probably take about 10 minutes or so to walk to it shuts aroun 6pm tho i believe... there are plenty of restaurants nearby, there is a chinese buffett, jennys, weatherspoons pub, if you have a car there are several restaurants at a place called sixfields which is probs about a 10 minute drive away :)
  6. i hate to burst your bubbles about walking from the holiday inn but if you are staying in the one on the bedford road which i believe is the nearest you will not want to walk its more than a mile away i think you will find. its on the other side of the town centre and across a dual carriageway. i would not recommend walking it, especially after the parties. i live in northampton so i know exactly how far it is away from the park inn. i would say it would take you a good couple of hours to walk it at least...... i would recommend that you get a taxi or a bus) although im not sure there is one that would be any good for you, especially at night time...
  7. this would be the case I would imagine for most insurance companies. I know in the case of my insurance (and seeing as I work for the same company) they would be covered under contents insurance :)
  8. the train station isnt that far away to be honest, i wouldnt recommend a bus because they dont stop near the hotel really by the time you have waited, paid got on and travelled you could have walked there. you could get a taxi, i doubt it would cost much as it is so close. if you have loads of luggage i would say maybe get a taxi but if youve not got much and you dont mind walking then i would walk there. all you need to do is turn left out of the train station cross the road and walk up to the nest set of lights, cross over the road and turn left and walk up a bit and the hotel is there. i will have to check next time im down that was as im assuming there is a path to get there and you dont have towalk all the way arund so leave it with me and ill get back to ya!
  9. indeed its quite nice, its a bit canteen like but its good. i havent been for a while but it did used to get quite busy so it may be worth booking if you intend to go (i assume they take bookings anyway!)
  10. if anyone wants to know, the ibis is definately in walking distance, it is literally across the road from the park inn. the park inn is in northampton town centre so has many places to eat within walkin distance. there is a subway, macdonalds, pumpernickles (another sandwich place) there is a weatherspoons pub relatively close aswell and over the road there is a place called Jennys which is a restaurant and arome which is a chinese buffett. if people have cars there is a place called sixfields thats about 10 minutes drive away which has pizza hut, macdopnalds, kfc, red hot ( a world buffett place) old orlean, frankie and bennies, tgi fridays and buddies. if anyone wants to know anything about Northampton post on here and ill do my best to answer your questions as i live in Northampton.
  11. oo thats a good question i need to know whether i will need to book the monday off.... well i suppose i could get away with not and just appear in work on the monday morning as i wont need to travel. it might be better to provide a sunday night party cause im not sure what the transport out of my lovely home town is like of a sunday evening.....
  12. Dan Payne and Alex Zahara are an absolute MUST if they are available! Carmen Argenziano would be good. Jay Acovone and Tom McBeath would be awesome too!

  14. shed? theres no room in there its full of all the rubbish we dont want in the house! ROFL
  15. YES!! no hotel bills as i live in Northampton! score!!!
  16. I'd just like to point out that people were not given any guarantees wih regards to the time, only the best estimate (I made sure I made that very clear when I was passing on messages). There was a delay at the photo lab, and as soon as information about the delay was relayed back to the hall it was passed on. Back to the original topic, JCB seemed fine to me this weekend. I didn't encounter her directly though... im not disputing that all im saying is that to keep telling people 5 mins 5 mins when its clearly not known is a bit unfair. instead maybe say there has been a delay at the photo lab so we are hoping sometime in the next 5 mins.... and to be fair you would only say "they will be here in a minute" if you know they are in the building as that is the only way they would arrive in a minute. of course this could all be solved if showmasters invested in their own photo printer like other unamed organisers. the photos could be printed off in the premises and it would probably take less time!! i must say tho once they did arrive the distributing was very prompt :)
  17. I'd have booked already had it been in the south, but by train from Devon Northampton is far enough to give me second thoughts. in fairness northampton isnt much further than milton keynes(for those who go to collectormania there)!!! its on the same train line as milton keynes :) admittedly from the likes of Devon its quite a trek! its quite easy to get to from london tho, you can get a train that takes about 1 hour 20 ish sometimes less if you get a fast train. :)
  18. give her credit though she chased up the photoshoots with torri that LOADS of people were waiting for for well over an hour. Everyone was being told 5 mins, in a min and this went on for half an hour. She did go sort it out and was able to get things moving, same with letting everyone into the stargate talk too :)
  19. i drove home from liverpool on sunday, leaving at about 330 and had rain all the way to northampton. the M6 was awful, there was first an accident on the southbound carriageway that had moved to the hard shoulder then a bit further down the southbound way started crawling as everyone was having a good look at the otherside where something bad must have happened as there were 3 fire engiones, an ambulane and a police car still thre (my passenger informs me anyway!) then when we got to the M1 heading towards northampton that evil white stuff called snow materialised and had that all the way home. By the time i was home it was coming down quite heavily and did start to lay. Thankfully it had gone by this morning!!!!! at least you got home safe and sound eventually *hugs*
  20. My photos wothout the flash came out ok but my issue was around the stalls, particularly those in the middle area, im nt being funny but you could barely see where you were walking in places, thats got to be some sort of health and safety issue.........
