  1. Sorry, didn't get close enough to see what photos were available. Hopefully someone else can answer, though you may be able to find one on one of stalls. I did look as I remembered this being asked before the event and I'm pretty sure there weren't any today. from what i remember it was all stargate and portfolio shots. That's not to say there won't be different stuff tomorrow. When you have your VQ ticket just ask if you can pop up and look at the photos, then if they don't have any tomorrow you can search the stalls.
  2. i love charmed its one of the best lol i will be there on the saturday and would be really interested in it. the thing is where do we go from here? it would be great if lynn could hold it on her stall. any info drop me an email Mike I dropped it off Mike, hope you get it!
  3. Don't think there is anything new for that one. The guests on that flier are: Lance Henricksen Malcolm McDowell Jason Mamoa James Marsters David Nykl Chris Barrie Craig Charles Don Davis Peter Mayhew John Levine Agnieszka Blonska Peter Davidson Connor Trinneer Dominic Keating
  4. event - 2nd - 5th may 2008, guests, nothing specific as of yet.
  5. Just got back in. I was only going to see Chris, Michael and Jewel so I was done fairly quickly. All 3 where at the event so came down and started signing at 9.30 so I was done by 10! All three where in fine humour and photo's at the desk where allowed today (but it was quiet at that point) Photo taken by Jewel!
  6. Just got back from C12 and the announcements on the flier for C13 are: Paul McGillion Patrick Stewart.
  7. Unfortunately Mike has first dibs already, sorry Isawien.
  8. For anyone planning to travel to MK by train on Friday please be aware that in the papers today are announcements that Silverlink are planning to strike (on Friday only). Whilst I don't think this will affect Virgin Trains it might mean that if you are going home on Friday, there are less trains available.
  9. Thanks for the assistance Lynn. I'll drop it off at some point on Friday morning. He's my little brontie!
  10. I've got a Charmed poster that was given to me in compensation for a severely screwed up purchase. I'm not a huge fan of the programme and it's been sitting in my cupboard for a while. If anyone would like it I'm intending to go to Collectormania on Friday morning and can either meet up to hand it over or leave it at the info desk (if that is allowed). Unfortunately I don't have a spare poster tube to put it in though. First come first served as it were.
  11. It is a difficult position to be in though if there is one person you really want to see. I mainly go to these shows to meet the Stargate guests as I'm a huge fan of the show. I've not really been intrerested in meeting other guests so far. As most Stargate fans know the lead, RDA doesn't generally do conventions. He has done a few promo events and recently concented to do one con (Where you couldn't get anything signed). If SM announced RDA at an event I would want to buy a gold ticket just for him. I know so many people would turn up to see him that I would be willing to fork it out just to see him! Of course I would be really peed off then if he cancelled but frankly that is the risk you take. It is dissapionting when a guest cancels, especially if they keep cancelling at other shows you hoped to catch them at as well.
  12. I think it's just easier and quicker for people to post on here. At the events SM staff might be too busy to hear what people might wanna say and I've heard its hard to catch them on the phones or by email. And besides, the msg boards are here for discussion and SM admin do post here to answer questions so its easier for most people and takes less effort. People likely wanna voice their concerns on the boards cos they want other people's thoughts on the matter. Surly the boards are here for that reason too? I don't have anything bad to say here but I don't think it's right to tell people to not complain or "whinge" or to not have a bad opinion...that's just very much like a dictatorship*. There are already things we cant talk about on here and posts do get closed/removed and big brother (the mods) is always monitoring us but I think telling people that shouldn't complain is going a bit far. Everyone likes freedom of speech and people's concerns should not be silenced or supressed. *See George Orwell's "1984" or Equilibrium, V For Vendetta or even the Stargate movie. Besides which, there isn't anything wrong with people complaining it's just how many of them do it that's wrong. Even if something had really peed you off you can still talk about it in a reasoned and polite way instead of just swearing and being obnoxious.
  13. Incredible? No. and coincidence, yes.
  14. My most treasured would be my auto from Stephen Speilberg obtained when my brownie troup was allowed on set to watch the filming of Empire of the Sun. It was the first auto I ever got and went missing for a long time. I recently found it in the loft and was very glad to get it back! Others would include my Stargate costume signed by Amanda Tapping. My best non signed items would be my other 2 screen used costumes from Stargate (worn by RDA and AT) and a picture of me with them both.
  15. That is the next issue! It's a fine balance with repeated guests as to how soon you get them back.
  16. This isn't directed at anyone in particular but it always amuses me when people say they aren't happy with the line up because there isn't anyone they want to see. Events cannot have exactly the same guests each time, there has to be a variety so chances are there will come an event that doesn't cater to some peoples tastes. That is life, but i'd never say I was unhappy about it. I haven't been to the last 2 LFCC because there were not suffient people I wanted to see to justify the cost but I just say "oh well, maybe next time" Some people are only happy if the shows are full up with (for example) LOTR, Star Wars and Harry Potter guests and woe betide the organiser who dares not get any of them!
  17. I'm more than happy and am looking forward to going.
  18. And Michael is regularly doing shows without Chris as well. I just saw him three weeks ago and Chris was nowhere near. Indeed
  19. If Michael does cancell there is no reason to think that Chris will as well. Whilst they do many events together it's not a both or neither situation, Chris has been to cons without Michael before.
  20. If it's promotional work on behalf of the show they are on they might not even get paid anything special, it may be in their contracts that they have to engage in a certain amount of promo's to promoe the show.
  21. I'd like a stall that sells chocolate unicorns....mmmmmm
  22. I do get what you mean and trust me, I personally don't put them on a pedestal. I do like meeting actors from shows I like but hate the whole love celebritary culture - I do not hang on everything they do
  23. If they gave me tens of thousands of pounds for doing it - I’d do it with a smile, and probably dance to the bank on Monday. *sigh* The things these people have to do for all this money!. Having their picture taken is now too much to ask. Some people work for the minimum wage, in worse conditions for longer hours – but I’d imagine you wouldn’t care about those. Why wouldn't I care about those kinds of people, just because I said you have to respect guests for not wanting flashes in their faces all day? I have the greatest respect for hard workers. Don't make snap comments about people you don't know.
  24. There are several people who believe no photos' doesn't apply to them! Concerts and sporting events rarely last all day and even if they do it's not the same person there all day. Here is a test to all those who don't care, sit in a chair and get a friend to take flash photo's of you every few seconds for 6/7 hours for 2 days and see how you feel after that Some people get migraines you know. It never is just a couple of people saying "oh just let me take one" there are always those who do their own thing, as others have said, they take multiple pics because the first wasn't quite right, or they can't turn the flash off because they don't know how or they just don't care.
