I believe from things I've read/heard in the past, way before corona was even on the horizon that they had been wanting to do the sales for ages anyway but never had the time given how much stuff they had. At least they have the reserves to help them through and a tiny upside to the situation is that they have been able to make a good dent in the stuff they have in the warehouse

Only going based off what I have seen posted in explanation from other organisers, but it's not as simple as SM just saying 'lets cancel it, OK done' They have contracts with cancellation penalties in play with guests, venue's suppliers ect, so they can't just call it all off, all the contracts have to be legally voided or they will have penalties to pay if they are the ones to cancel. Hopefully it won't be long until we get an update on both upcoming events.

We can't tell you anything that the official response hasn't really. If they said it's still going ahead, then it is until it isn't. Common sense would say that with numbers rising any big inside event isn't going to happen, but until the organisers are ready to update us, they can only stick to the current official line.

I've seen other events say 'we are going ahead because we are a market place and not a social gathering' so some are trying that. I'm surprised SM haven't done any private signings at the least.

If I learned anything from doing the Dalek it's look ahead before you do anything. You literally only get a bend or 2 before it'll snap so you really don't want to be having to bend bits more than a couple of times. So look at the piece, and what shape you need to bend each corner into, plan what tool you will use so you can hopefully do it in one go, and don't faff wiggling it back and forth.
