  1. Haha, yes same! I've rented an apartment out this time, extended it to a week so I can spend some time I London. Looking forward to it already! Anybody planning to go to the Glasgow Showmasters event to get Michael Biehn to sign their stuff? Feel I'd be daft not to.
  2. Hi, noticed the pics on this thread, great photos. Thanks again for the company in the queues and talks. : ) Hey! It was a great weekend and was made better with good company. :) Good to see you on here. I tried to find personal message but don't think there is one? Just as we're not to talk about other events and they've announced the big name we were talking about!
  3. I personally had a fantastic time all 3 days, especially for my very first Con, and I think that overall the weekend was handled very well considering it was the very first time in that venue and having guests of that size. Yes there were issues with stairs, lifts, signs etc. and at the time it can feel like a nightmare for attendees. But these things will happen as you say and can be improved on next year. I absolutely loved my Diamond Pass and the perks it gave me, and given the popularity of a couple of the weekends Diamond Guests (Sigourney and Christopher) it would be absolutely fantastic to see them back. I'd buy another Sigourney Pass in a heartbeat. Thank you Showmasters for the work you put in and for the amazing guests you got us. I really look forward to seeing what you have for us next year.
  4. Every day since he cancelled I have eaten my own body weight in Haagen-Dazs whilst watching 'Love, Actually' on repeat. I'm getting better though. :) I feel your pain. If he comes to next years LFCC then I will be over the moon! Unfortunately, by then I'll be 30lbs heavier and know all the words to The Notebook off by heart.
  5. I'm not a smoker myself and have no issue with those that choose to be. Not in the slightest in fact, as how someone chooses to live their life is no business of mine! However, if we're in a queue where we are standing almost shoulder to shoulder and almost touching either front or back, and you decide to light a cigarette and puff away, I do think it's disrespectful. This is just my opinion and I'm sure many will disagree, but if I respect your decision to smoke then why can't you respect mine to not do so, and therefor not force me to breathe in your second hand smoke and have my hair and clothes smelling of it? I'd be happy to hold someones place in the line so they could go for a cigarette just as much as if they wanted to grab a bite to eat or a coffee. As has been said already, this isn't such an issue in more open spaces, but we all saw how cramped those lines got outside the venue! I recall an Olympia crew member telling us she didn't want to see "any spaces".
  6. Will never happen but definitely want Sigourney Weaver back! Also, Iain Glen, Charles Dance, and RDA whom I didn't meet but wish I had in hindsight.
  7. More importantly, has anyone gotten over this yet?
  8. I'm so glad this is a thing! Thought there was something wrong with me. Haha.
  9. Last one I've got. I've never been made to look so bad by a 65 year old. She's just stunning.
  10. In all fairness, I asked a number of people working there on Friday how I could get to the 3rd floor, as I was doing a bit of recon for the next two days and wanted to know my way around. None of them could tell me! I found it myself early on the Saturday (thankfully, as I had talks and autos up thete over the next two days) but I was concerned that a number of the people working the show didn't think there was a level 3 or didn't know how to get to it.
  11. I'm disappointed that I was so in awe when I met her I didn't manage any more than "hello" and "thank you so much". I had things I wanted to say but I just clammed up. I doubt I'll ever have the opportunity again but if I do then I won't be making the same mistake! She was so nice!
  12. Sorry it's not great quality but as you can see it's a photo of a photo. Don't particularly fancy Jorah but I'll admit, I certainly swooned a bit when I met Mr. Iain Glen. Lovely man as well. Completely unrelated but I just checked out your Twitter SabreArt, and you are ridiculously talented! Wow!!
  13. SabreArt, that's great! It was my first Con and I was on my tod so I was happily chatting away with anyone that wanted to. Did we speak? And did you get the autos you wanted?
  14. Wow, Rockstar6662. Great photos, that Sigourney one is lovely. Great moment you captured.
  15. I'm currently on the train and this is the only photo I have on my phone. I actually really like this as it's less posed. She caught me a bit off guard when she suddenly came out from behind the desk and offered a photo. And then she insisted on standing on her tippy toes! Sorry if it's massive. I'll take a snap of my photoshoot ones when I get home.
  16. I only have a couple, how do you post them into the thread as above? I don't have any photo sharing websites and haven't put them on Facebook etc. Great shots so far! :)
  17. I had the same experience, Wayward One. I'd read she was 5'11" and I'm a lady just over 6'0", but she wasn't as tall as I'd thought - not sure if she had heels on or not but she was quite a few inches shorter than myself (I was in my flat sandals). I'm 6'2" so don't have the guts to wear heels like she does I didn't know exactly what her height was so I was a little surprised once I stood next to her. However, she's still tall by female standards and I think that she would still have that presence about her if she was 5ft tall! She's just something different altogether. Such a wonderful lady and a fantastic experience.
  18. She was absolutely lovely! Everything you could hope for and so much more. Graceful, polite and seemed to genuinely appreciate the fans. Not to mention she looked outrageously beautiful. I was looking forward to having my photograph taken with her as I usually dwarf everyone and have struggled with my height all my life, but I was surprised, she wasn't as tall as I was expecting! She had heels on and I felt like a giant next to her in my flats. Still quite the presence though!
  19. They're all well and good as long as you have that much cash to throw around on individual guest passes. I can see the perks but after what I've heard from this weekend I'm not sure I'll be going to another summer show again. Let alone buying a diamond pass I know what you're saying but I definitely wouldn't put it as lightly as "cash to throw around". I didn't see it that way at all and it was certainly a lot of money to spend on meeting a single person. I spent a fair amount of time debating it but in reality it was literally a dream meet for me and so something I saw as worth spending some savings on. It was truly worth it for me personally. I wouldn't go buying a Diamond Pass for just any guest at every event and I think that's the point of them.
  20. I feel truly awful for the people that were affected by this, if it had happened to me I'd be distraught and feel so very let down. It sounds to me that somebody somewhere didn't take into account the time that it would take to get all the makeup done, and for that a refund should be sent out, not vouchers, in my opinion. And even that is no consolation in any way. I'm sorry for all those people that missed out because of this. It may seem easy for me to say but I wouldn't let it put you off buying a Diamond Pass. I had one for Sigourney Weaver and I genuinely feel that I got what I paid for. Always priority for the queues, great seats in the talks, just honestly took the stress out of getting her autograph and a photo with her. Because of my Diamond Pass I was able to relax and enjoy my weekend, without fear of not meeting Sigourney. As long as I turned up where I was meant to be and at reasonable time, then it was all groovy. This weekend was a genuine dream come true thanks to that Pass and I really do hope that it's something SM continue to do.
  21. I'm not into BTTF and so I only got her autograph today for a friend. However, I have to say, I could have stood there and chatted to her all day! She was probably the sweetest person I met all weekend and I didn't even have any interest in meeting her for myself! Lovely lady.
  22. The Diamond Passes were SPOT ON. I had one for Sigourney Weaver and after shelling out the money for it I have to say it was totally worth it. The SM crew always made sure that you were taken when you were meant to and were great when helping out with queues. It did what it said on the tin and guaranteed me the autographs that I was so looking forward to getting. Not to mention great seats for the two talks and nice short queues for the Photoshoots. I really hope this becomes a regular opportunity for certain guests. I'd definitely go diamond again next year if there was a guest I really wanted to see.
  23. No, I know this. I wasn't trying to jump the queue with guests. It's just that Carrie Henn is included in the Sigourney Diamond Pass and so I thought she'd have a priority line as Sigourney will have for her diamond pass holders. As I say I queued for only about 20mins and got my auto so am a happy camper. Was just surprised that I didn't get use of the pass in any way with her.
  24. I had to queue up behind non diamond pass, non gold pass holders today for her autograph. I may have misunderstood the Diamond Pass perks for Carrie Henn but I thought we were meant to get priority as well. The showmasters steward told me that it was only with Sigourney and I'd have to queue up behind everyone else for anything with Carrie Henn. Anyway I did and she was lovely! Despite spelling my name wrong on my poster and then apologising a million times.
