Autographs and comic artists
whitewillow replied to Newera1/2's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2016
Also you can get up to 5 items signed in one go. If you want more than 5 autographs you have to queue a second time. -
Less than 1 month to go...

Is that meant to be serious or ironic? If you're going on what is a least a 3-day trip, surely there would be a trip to the shower at least once given the long hot days at conventions? So yeah, I'd say it "probably wouldn't hurt" to bring deodorant. I'd say more of a no-brainer actually. Especially as such events tend to be very hot and sweaty.

Friend booked wrong day photo shoot
whitewillow replied to whitewillow's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2016
Thanks for the answers. I will inform my friend. -
That'll be a nice start to the honeymoon.

This is a question I am asking on behalf of a friend. He accidentally booked a Mads Mikkelsen photo shoot for Friday, but he is only doing Sunday. Will it be possible for him to change it? He sent an email yesterday but hasn't got a reply yet; I told him I would ask here to see if I could get an answer.

Question about meeting Comic guests
whitewillow replied to whitewillow's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2016
Thanks! I remember they were in a separate area (Earl's Court 1) in 2014, but I don't remember about 2015. I don't want a drawing, just to get my comic signed, so I will just queue normally. -
After 2 times at the LFCC, this will be the first time I meet a comic guest (3 actually). I want to ask, do the comic guests have virtual queues like the film guests? Also, will they be in a separate area?

Thats impressive, how long will it take you? About 18 hours or so. It's horrible A flight would have taken me only 2 hours (plus transport from Luton, Gatwick or Heathrow). But yeah. DonT like flying. And I hate the bus journey as well, but. Irrational fears win. I travel to London a couple of times a year so I'm used to it though. Wow I admire your stamina and determination! I'm coming from Greece, so 3 hours by plane.

Rey sounds very cool! Regarding weather just make sure you wear something cool inside as it can get very hot. If the weather is cold just have something extra like a jacket or jumper to wear while outside.

I also cosplay on my own. It might feel a bit weird when you're on the tube on your own, but as you get nearer to the venue more cosplayers will get on and it will be less weird. I say go for it!

I will be cosplaying as Tauriel on Saturday and am in the process of making the costume. I have 2 T-shirts picked out for Saturday forum meetup and for Sunday.
-
I'm staying at a hotel near Earl's Court and will be walking. Google maps puts it at 15' approx., whether I walk or take the bus/tube, so I'm walking.

Latest Comic Guest Announcement - GEORGES JEANTY
whitewillow replied to SM Comic Zone's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2016
This will be a first for me: a Comic Guest that I know and am interested in meeting. I read some comics but I'm not that knowledgeable about them, so I've never heard of most of the Comic Guests. But Georges Jeanty I know due to his Buffy work (which I didn't like) and his Firefly work (which I did like). So I'll see if I can get my Leaves on the Wind copy signed.- 2 replies

Yep, it's always rational when it's the thing they're into, but when it's the thing you're into it's irrational and you shouldn't be spending money on it. Even if you'd really met everyone, though, it would still be fun to go to a con just for the whole atmosphere. I find it very enjoyable being around all the other fans and geeks, people cosplaying, lovely merchandise etc. I think the general con atmosphere is just as important as the star guests.

Forum Meet Up - 30th July
whitewillow replied to PenThePirate's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2016
Oh no! I stayed at my cousins' in Whitton for the past 2 cons, which meant 45'-1h to get there. I've booked a hotel at Earls' Court this year, see if it's less tiring getting to and from the con/pub. -
I'm going alone, as I have done the other 2 times I attended, but I am meeting 2 friends who are going independently. So we will meet some time during the weekend. Going alone has the advantage of being able to do whatever you like, without having to plan around somebody else. The main drawback is that you don't have anyone to talk to during the queues, although some times you can chat with strangers waiting in line with you.

Forum Meet Up - 30th July
whitewillow replied to PenThePirate's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2016
I'm coming to the Con, so probably coming to the meet-up as well. Around what time is it going to be? Right after the con, an hour later? -
when buying stuff from stalls...
whitewillow replied to Lenasbitch92's topic in London Film & Comic Con 2016
I just get a bag from the vendor and carry it around. Unless what I bought is small enough to fit in my regular bag.
