    first timer-

Read the FAQ, and don't be afraid to ask again if you still have questions. Re: how easy it is to get there from the tube, this post https://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?/topic/97827-entry-points-and-pass-collection/ has a map of the area so you can see where each entrance is in relation to the tube. As you will see the tube (Overground) is right next door, but you need to walk a bit to get to the right entrance. From what I know your daughter can come with you even if only one of you is getting an autograph, but she will still need a VT (as to what that is, read the FAQ, it explains it).

    Potential Heathrow disruption

Same for me, I'm more worried about missing part/all of LFCC than missing work returning home! Seems I'm safe so far so breathing a sigh of relief. And here's another article with all the details: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/travelnews/uk-airports-strikes-when-and-how-will-passengers-be-affected-at-heathrow-stansted-and-gatwick-a4191556.html

This is good; it will cut down on the plastic bottle waste as well as being cheaper.

To add to what QS said, if a photo shoot is enough of a "meeting" for you, you can get a photo shoot to "meet the guest". Photo shoots are also guaranteed. Just remember that at the photo shoot you can't talk to the guest, just have a photo taken and that's it, whereas with an autograph you may get to talk to them a bit (depends on the guest and the queue).

    Potential Heathrow disruption

A google search has yielded only some articles from the Sun. It seems the 25/7 strike will be at Stansted, and regarding Gatwick workers have until 26/7 to vote for a strike in August? So maybe I will not be affected. But will have to keep monitoring things. Grrrr... fingers crossed, hope everything goes well. https://www.thesun.co.uk/travel/9488034/easyjet-summer-strike-london-stansted/ https://www.thesun.co.uk/travel/9491507/gatwick-airport-strike-summer/

Dammit I'm arriving on the 25th via Gatwick (Easyjet)!
  7. For me it will be the opposite as I had 2 paid talks each on Sat & Sun, but none on Fri :-)
  8. Regarding the DP since the old one will be refunded, you just have to go buy a new one for a different day. Although depending on how you are money-wise, you may want to wait for the refund to come through. With the entrance tickets I don't know if you'll be lucky, but you never know.
  9. Thanks for the announcement; I had a photo shoot booked for Sunday, so I guess I'll have to go buy a Friday one.

There's no set time, but from my experience most arrive between 9 and 9.30 am.

    Preliminary Schedule UPDATED 10/07

Good, I see many nice free talks! Especially glad about the Jason Isaacs free talk, as I was planning of buying a ticket to his paid talk before that was cancelled. Glad to see it just got changed to a free talk!

From googling ear defenders I see they are like big headphones. I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't be allowed, and don't worry about looking weird. Comic-Con is about not worrying about looking weird! I've seen people use headphones like that on public transport, so don't worry. Just wear what you need to feel comfortable and don't worry about what other people may think!

As WrongName said it is better to contact the YALC people on social media, but I think it will mention it on her YALC announcement page if she requires VQ tickets. I remember one year seeing it written somewhere about some authors that they would require VQs and I think it was on their YALC announcement page. But better contact YALC to be certain.

I don't know of any official number, but certainly if you show up with a sackful of books they will say "no". You can ask theYALC people if there is an official limit; they have a facebook page so maybe if you send a question there with the number of books you are hoping to get signed they can give you more info.
