  1. I think I must be one of the 60% then. When I've paid £16.50 for a train ticket, £15 (plus P&P) to get in and there's stuff on I want to do all day...I'm not going till it closes.
  2. Started my dress too https://www.flickr.com/photos/ladydetemps/14692703935/
  3. I wouldn't think you were a pest...me and my cousin were having a competition to see who got asked for a photo the most....he won. I must win next time. Cosplay is fun...you don't even need a group. Just find a genre you like and start with a basic silhouette*...building up your outfit each time. *I use rule of thumb. If you were in a hurry and you saw yourself from a distance if you'd be fooled then that'll do.
  4. I was surprised there wasn't hand gel on every table. I think if I was signing I'd have some with me.
  5. You had to deduce the answers. People kept asking about future episodes when from the first time they said watch season 4, I would have changed tack and come from different angle. Asked about through processes..which would then lead you to the answers you seek by extrapolating what they would think to do. For example ask them what their fave stories in the books were.
  6. Well because I didn't spend all the money I assigned it means it goes into the pot for wlfcc. So I can do 2 days. Yay!
  7. Let a busker set up a pitch who only plays video game theme tunes like Zelda & Mario. I was thinking about bringing my squeezebox along for wlfcc (for talent show) I could play a few tunes in the line.
  8. I've been having an idea. If the queues are gonna be big and long…hows about sending out some entertainment? At least then you get something for your 4 hour queuing even if you can't get in. Maybe some jolly music...turn the queue into a giant conga line. Mexican wave from one end to the other...ok..maybe the heat is getting to me. lol
  9. I'd also print out the layout (not just the timetable- although my highlighting helped me scedule). And bring a pen to scribble amendments.
  10. I think in future if I haven't booked it in advance, I'll just have to leave it. Can't face a 2 hour wait for one ticket paid in cash. It would be nice to be able to book autographs too.
  11. yes. definately flat shoes only. :) Oh here is my dr who (tom baker) spencer. finished it last night.
  12. Main thing would be choose a cooler cosplay....I was melting in 3 layers and a jacket. Go get vts for autos first...before standard tickets get let in. Do less talks to allow for doing prop shoots etc. Do more than one day....especially if one of those is saturday.
  13. I think it was an air circulation unit rather than air cooling as I felt airflow near the guitar stand but it was only slightly cooler than air around.
  14. ok might have finally made decision...regency dr who one day and brier rose (sleeping beauty) the other day.
  15. For me I ask for photos based on quality, and cut of the clothing (I'm a sewer who drapes own patterns as a hobby so I can appreciate good workmanship). I'm also a bit of a fashion history nerd…so anything historically correct is something I'm interested in. And sometimes its because is a cosplay I'd like to try and make…so its research. Its interesting to see all the interpretations. Or just basically they have a cosplay that matches my own in theme.
  16. Took photo on the sat at the cosplay masquerade
  17. I build up my immunity with a course of echinatia beforehand. Oh and antibac gel regularly used.
  18. Having had time to sit back and think I perceive the problem was basically you had 3 cons in one. The YALC stuff should have been its own con, the stan lee and comicbook area could have been a con on its own. Then you had all the other guests signing and photos and stalls which was your third con. So next time don't cram everything into one weekend. Spread it out a bit. To use an illustration. Its like having three roast dinners in one sitting…causes integestion, and stomach pain.
  19. Paul McGann Jamie Bamber Ioan Gruffud Robert Lindsey Erm..well basically the cast of hornblower.
  20. Who was the lady dressed as mina harker in the cosplay line in front of me. We had great chat about historical costuming. I know she reads my blog, I wanted to send her a copy of the photo I took of her amazing dress.
  21. Could advertising be sold to help cover the costs? 69p is quite minimal really per user....a chocolate bar at EC costs more than that.
  22. As I might be getting a smartish phone layer this year...so I could use an app. I'd be interested too.
  23. The problem with lanyards is that someone can just take it off when they leave and give it to someone else that maybe hasn't paid to get in, there's no way to check. I prefer wristbands to lanyards...they don't spoil the look of your cosplay so much. You don't have to wear the lanyard...just have it somewhere about your person. ok if you have something with pockets
