  1. John Wagner & Pat Mills would be nice...
  2. He was magnificent in Blade Runner; never tire of watching that movie
  3. I had to re-mortgage the house to afford the surgery to look like this...
  4. The only time I've ever given a guest a gift was in 2012 when I met Buzz Aldrin at Autographica. It was a pair of pewter cufflinks with a Scottish theme and he seemed pleased with the gesture. I'm sure any guest would appreciate the fact that you took the time to draw something for them.
  5. Just finished "Operation Mincemeat" by Ben McIntyre, an account of arguably the most successful single deception of WW2. Want to make the Germans think you're going to invade Greece instead of Sicily? Plant the body of a man who never existed off the Spanish coast with an attache case of secret documents chained to his wrist...a thrilling read, and it's all true... Haven't read any pure "sci fi" for a while so took a punt on "Space Carrier Avalon" by Glynn Stewart for the kindle. Promising start, reminiscent of "Battlestar Galactica". Visit us at Showmasters Library (aka this forum topic) for updates.
  6. Aliens book is cool (and plenty of room for more signatures!)
  7. He played Xavier March in the film version of "Fatherland", a superb thriller by Thomas Harris set in a post-war world where the Nazis were victorious (sounds familiar I know). The film is well worth a viewing.
  8. A great variety of stuff here. I'm more into the "old school" horror films (Universal, Hammer etc.). probably an age thing
  9. At last year's Glasgow FCC Max Grodenchik personally dried the autographs with an electric mini-fan as he chatted to the recipient. Now that's service!
  10. It looks to me like the man on the left in the top pic and the man bottom right in the lower pic are one and the same.
  11. Have re-read Antony Beevor's "Stalingrad" and "D-Day" Gripping (and sometimes heart-breaking) accounts of two of the key events of WW2. Leaving terra firma again-currently reading "Two Sides of the Moon" by Dave Scott and Alexei Leonov, an account of the 60s space race seen from either side of the "Iron Curtain". It is clear that while there was competition, there was mutual respect between the Astronauts and Cosmonauts.
  12. Captain Hollister! Would be good to see him in Glasgow...
  13. Sad news indeed-was a big fan of Blake's 7. Rest in Peace Gareth.
  14. Ron Hill (at the Manchester Marathon on Sunday)
  15. Does anyone know what film/show the photo second from bottom on Jacqueline's guest announcement post is from?
  16. Moving on to "Selecting the Mercury Seven: The Story of America's Space Pioneers" (Colin Burgess) Sure is quiet... Fascinating stuff...some nice pics too...oh! Thought I heard a noise..."CHAPPiE, is that you? Mands"? Nobody there-just my imagination..."KING RICHARD!!!?? Get a grip Alan, there's nobody here...
  17. Michael Emerson (Benjamin Linus from "Lost")
  18. Great stuff-good work Showmasters-this salute's for you!
  19. A fine actor and such a familiar face from films and TV-looking forward to meeting him.
