  1. Excellent work!! :-D I finally had a chance to sit and watch (It's a long vid!) Great to see, as it's got possibly everyone who did the record attempt? I spotted my partner and I walking in at about 21:57, which was really cool. :-D
  2. Just uploaded a small number of our photos... Out of curiosity, does anyone recognise and maybe know the contact details for the couple in the last photo? (Hege and Hans-Michael from Norway) We made good friends with them, but lost their contact details. Would love to get in touch!
  3. We only had the chance (and money lol!) to get two of the captains. My girlfriend really loves Kate, but she didn't even glance up or say anything when being greeted. I got Bill, and the guy in front of me said he'd paid £80 for two autographs and the crew hadn't noticed and were being really awkward, so Bill just said "don't worry about it" and signed both items for the guy. It felt like he was more bothered about the fan, than messing them around because the crew hadn't checked properly. Yes, he was very quick with my autograph, but he's been doing this for years and years and used to long queues. You kinda can't blame him, and he was pleasant enough with it and looked up and acknowledged me. However, when he caught sight of my girlfriend (dressed as Seven of Nine) he had a big smile and said "Wow! What a costume!" which was cool. I did wonder if Mulgrew's seeming dislike of the Seven of Nine character had anything to do with how she was.
  4. I was wondering... There were two guys going around videoing and doing interviews (My girlfriend and I were interviewed). I wondered if anyone knew who/what they were filming for? They covered pretty much everything, including being on stage for the World Record, so they were obviously there in some professional capacity. Any ideas?
  5. My girlfriend and I were about 3 or 4 rows back right of center, so should jusssttt about be visible on the full photo, I would think (though a guy got his hand in front of her face... grrr!) We were able to spot ourselves on the low-res pic, but only because we knew what where we were. We're a group of about 10 pixels each lol!
  6. Sorry to hear!! I know how frustrating it can be, as I had a similar problem years ago at a convention. I almost had a similar problem, but I was lucky enough to have transferred everything just before discovering my memory card had gone belly-up.
  7. Great question, Chewer! I'd like to know that as well. I'd also love to know where we can download a high res copy of the photo? There's only a small pixelated version floating around at the mo. Better than nothing, but nowhere near the level of detail the original will obviously have. (Good choice of uniform, by the way! ;-) )
  8. I have to admit, I had kind of presumed they would be releasing a DVD at some point, due to all the cameras filming at the talks, figuring they weren't just there for reproducing actors on the big screen for people watching from a distance. It'd be a shame if they didn't, especially considering we weren't allowed to video any of the talks except for the opening ceremony. It would be a really nice memento after-the-fact.
  9. Beauregard, if you click the magnifying glass (above and to right of image) then select 'view all sizes' at the top right of the popup from that, you then get a page showing all the available sizes, including the original at 1038 x 1724. :)
  10. Beauregard-UK, don't know if you've seen this photo? 'fraid I never saw you there in the suit, but it looked damn good! http://www.flickr.com/photos/currentobsession/8116691864/
  11. Just spotted, it does actually say: "1 Exclusive rare signed card" So technically I suppose it's correct. I wonder how a small minor character auto works out as being 'better' than a full size main character auto? I'm not majorly complaining. Still good to get, but, as I said before, it was a bit of an eyebrow raiser.
  12. Platinum and you didn't even get one?? Sheesh! Now that's where the organising has clearly fallen over...
  13. Nope, we got a postcard-sized Vaughn Armstrong, who was in 18 eps of Enterprise. (by the way, check the other thread, photos for you!) Like I said above, no offence to the actor, nice to have his auto, but hardly compares to a major one like Ethan Phillips.
  14. That would be fantastic to see when you get it, thanks! :) And thanks for the compliment on her costume she spent ages getting it right. I'll try and grab a couple of stills for you, from my vid. **EDIT** Not sure how to upload photos here, so just go to http://www.wdlee.co....r_and_alice.zip. I zipped up four photos from the vid (2 of each of you). They're not the greatest quality, since they're vid grabs, but hopefully good fun! :-) Sometime in the near future, I'll do a little edit of the costume parade!
  15. I'd like to echo that, Berber! It would be great to see any photos people took. I was in a straight forward Wrath of Khan-style uniform, but my girlfriend was in full Seven of Nine costume (link) so we/she got asked to stop for a lot of photos that it would be great to see. :) Was the tenth Doc you were with in the costume parade on the Sunday? If so, I don't have photos but should have him on video. :) (It's in HD, so can grab reasonable stills as well) One of the funiest/cutest photos we ended up with was when a couple with their baby in starfleet uniform, asked my girlfriend to hold him for a photo. Would love to see the proper photo of that (I only managed a quick photo on my mobile)
  16. I have a few suggestions, but first let me say that my girlfriend and I had a great time and really enjoyed the event overall. It was fantastic. However, like anything, there were imperfections and here are my thoughts on them: 1 - The goody bag mostly felt like it was just a few leaflets advertising other stuff. It needed an actual few 'goodies' to be honest. Heck, even the addition of the program in here would have made all the difference. Rather than paying a small fortune for tickets then paying another £10 for the program. The pen/badge/coaster/bookmark are fine, but hardly feel worth it when they ARE the only real goodies. Another element that may have just been organisational, we talked to quite a few people with silver and gold tickets (we paid for gold) and it predominantly seemed that we gold ticket buyers got a post-card sized autograph of a very minor recurring character from enterprise(no offence to the actor who spent his time signing them), vs Silvers getting a major character and full size photo (in the cases we talked to, Neelix.) No offence, but when you've paid out for gold, that felt a little eyebrow-raising. The included poster should also have been simply rolled with a rubber band, not placed in loose. Too many were just bent and creased. I know some of these points may seem petty and/or minor, but they're the small details that make something feel professionally run, as opposed to slap-dash. 2 - Someone else mentioned that autograph vouchers would have been a much, much better idea than set allocated ones on the gold and silver tickets. It felt too random. We are all fans who, like it or not, have our favourites. 3 - The website. I'm sorry, but I design websites and online-resources for a living, and the main website was terribly designed. It was by sheer luck we found out some stuff before the show, and there was lots we missed finding out about till the event. It's a simple case of navigational structure, to be honest. You shouldn't have to trawl through the site for hours on the off-chance of finding the obscure link to something that should otherwise be obvious. 4 - Some clear boards or screens displaying events/map/etc. Being able to quickly see when or where an event is, makes all the difference. I suspect something as simple as this may have been 'missed' to encourage more buying of programs? 5 - I agree with others that the parties were lacking in theme and also seating was quite limited. The bar was so absurdly expensive I suspect they made much less money than they could have, simply because people were refusing to pay such exorbitant prices. It really was the other fans that we met and chatted to, that saved the saturday night party from being a bit limp. 6 - Conventions I've been to in the past (admittedly, only 3), I've found that photograph/autograph were in the same price (I don't mean photograph with the star, but a photograph for them to sign). We heard no-one saying that those with ticket-allocated autographs still needed to buy photographs for them. Not only did this seem a little cheap, but made it embarrassing when we saw our first star and didn't have a photo for them to sign. ___________________________________________________ Now just to show I'm not just having a moan, even though this is the thread for suggestions, I also wanted to say what I thought was good: 1 - Overall, from our experience anyway, the staff seemed quite helpful. In fact when the gates had closed because we were a couple of minutes late for Kate Mulgrew after the costume parade, a staff member graciously guided us through a side entrance. Most of the staff seemed fairly pleasant and helpful. 2 - I know that there were a lot of complaints about the size of the 'museum'. I don't know what people were expecting, as it is a small museum at a convention, not a permanent museum exhibit with lots of room. Did I wish it was bigger? Of course. But it was excellent and great to see all that stuff. My girlfriend and I are very into special effects and prop/costume making, so we got a pleasant kick out of the cross section of items that spanned from original series to enterprise. 3 - The overall event was fantastic, though time-wise, it really was a case of seeing the opening, the 5 captain's speeches and quickly getting the autographs we were allocated and a couple we purchased. We JUST managed to fit in the costume parade on the sunday. It was a pretty crammed weekend! No time left for any of the other star's talks. 4 - Despite what I mentioned about the ticket-allocated autographs, I think the way in which the autograph queues themselves were organised, seemed to work very well, for the most part. There was only one person we had to queue ages for, and we ended up leaving and getting them the next day in about two minutes! (The delay was simply because the star was obviously taking a long time with each person despite the queue length, so not the organiser's fault) 5 - Some complained that there weren't enough stalls. In some respects, I can see why they felt this. There weren't a lot for a convention this size, but for me personally I wasn't too fussed. We all buy so much online these days, that the few stalls there, were good just to be able to see things physically. I think in most other respects there was a healthy number so that lots of space was left in the hall for walking around. It made a big difference so that despite the large numbers of people it never felt cramped or claustrophobic. Overall, we really had one of the most fantastic weekends, in no small part due to the overall atmosphere created by all the other fans! Take some of the points people make, and bring on the next one!
  17. There was also this Seven... :) (I'm a little biased lol!) http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=558328904183619&set=a.558328860850290.149339.122908054392375&type=1&theater
  18. I had to get up to work.... Luckily I have a job that let's me work from home! but while doing that, I can occasionally check here! :)
  19. I don't think many of us have woken up fully yet lol! I'm sure loads will start appearing in the next few days. I've got my videos all converting at the moment, so haven't had a chance to download my photos as well yet.
  20. It'll be cool to see all the photos, whichever ones they were.
  21. Hi! Just joined the site to have a look at all the comments. Just spotted this thread, so thought I'd comment. I'd love to know which seven you guys are thinking of. There were about five or six that I saw, but I'm thinking you MAY be referring to my girlfriend who came as a 7of9 in silver catsuit, and she spent a long LONG time getting all the details right. Some of the other sevens looked great, but (while I'm obviously biased) I think hers was easily the best for all the accuracy. :) Any link to that photo of yours, Animator?
