Well, she did so for me, too, and John winked at me and said 'well, officially there's no photos' and then posed for one with me anyway. I think he was getting sick of her as well. My friend was annoyed with me for ignoring the girl when we had a photoshoot with John half an hour later anyway, but hey... she was rude and he basically offered!

That's actually how it always works at Showmasters events, numbers are called 'up to' so that you can never miss your turn as long as the shoot (or shoots) of that day aren't over. So you're in the second shoot, or at the end of a single one, with a high number, but if you have a low number you can go whenever. That's why people try to order as soon as the photoshoots are in the store, usually. More flexibility that way.

The ones controlling the queues outside did have Excel badges on, if I recall correctly.

Oh, no, I didn't mean that my ornament was the Locutus bust you saw! I meant it was the weirdest thing I saw signed. My ornament is just Picard in his usual Starfleet outfit.

Where was this elusive Forbidden Planet stall? I actually went looking for it and still couldn't find it!

Frankly, that would have been my own item for Sir Patrick -- a Hallmark Keepsakes Picard Christmas ornament. He seemed a bit confounded by it, asking me where he should sign it (the flat bit on the side, if you were wondering). No interesting conversation about it though, as he was getting ready to leave and didn't have time to talk. Won't leave these things to the last minute next time

They pretty much repeated the complaints that I've seen one guy (the one whose tweet they retweeted) vent all over the internet. Long queues (true, but Showmasters did do their best to handle that problem), a museum that was apparently 'tatty' and too small (not true, to me it was one of the best parts of the con, seeing all those props irl and even having a chat with the guy who owned them at the Filmwelt stand) and overpriced merch (not at all stands and not all the merch -- I got some very decently priced action figures at Filmwelt and at another stand -- and not something the organisers can help, anyway). I'm glad they at least didn't repeat his complaints about the Filmwelt people being German...

That would lead to a far longer turnaround time at the shoots though, taking down and replacing the backdrop and then doing test shoots again to get the camera set up properly with the new backdrop.

Cool, thanks! Are you sure you weren't supposed to get both the postcard and the 8x10, though? I got to borrow someone's 3-day pass (which also had a goodie bag included) for the Bobby Clarke auto, and his pass had separate punch-out bits for the goodie bag and the pre-signed (my two-day only had a punch out bit for the pre-signed). I don't know if they actually put the pre-signed in the goodie bag at the collection point as I didn't get a goodie bag until Sunday night when they were handing out the leftovers to all of us stragglers, but they were listed as separate on the pass. So maybe one of the people handing the extras out forgot to punch out and/or hand you your pre-signed?

Wait, you guys didn't get a signed 8x10? Even us two-day pass holders got a pre-signed Ethan Phillips 8x10. That hardly seems fair, you paid a lot more than we did.

Yep, we both were in the parade. He took a picture of me and your girlfriend with the parade winner, but I haven't seen his pictures yet. By the way, your girlfriend was my favourite in the parade! I loved how her Seven prosthetics actually lit up :)

As I wasn't the only person in cosplay (luckily, or I'd have felt a bit embarrassed ), I figured I'd start a topic for those of us who'd like to see the pictures we took with fellow attendees! I was the female Eleventh Doctor hanging out with a tall male Tenth Doctor on Saturday, and Alice-263 (from I, Mudd) on Sunday (wearing a dark wig) -- still accompanied by the Tenth Doctor, by the way. I was asked to pose for photos quite a few times, and I'd love to see them!

I had a great time, but frankly, I wouldn't want to do it for more than a weekend My legs would probably fall off!

As for b, do you mean they weren't letting in the people who did have tickets, or those who did not? Because if the latter, I would agree with that. People spent a lot of time queueing to get those tickets, and some of us had clashing photoshoots and wanted to join the talk after it had started if we needed to. If the hall had been filled with unticketed people at that point, that would have been a big letdown. There is no denying that, but do you understand its not a PAID talk, its a free talk. Its not fair to the guests to see the hall half empty and lots of people crowding around outside. if you have a clash, and cannot make it there for the start, in my opinion, you should not have taken a ticket/or should lose the seat WHEN it starts. I appreciate that you should have a choice, but you decided to pay for the photo you were never going to miss that. Someone cant take ur photo spot essentially, the line just moves forward, but the talk had an empty seat which could've been used . I understand that these are 'free' talks (that is, talks included in the main ticket price), but I do feel that those who were there early to queue up for the talk tickets have, so to speak, earned the right to see the talks. With photo clashes, the pit bosses do try to rush you through as fast as possible (we got both John DeLancie and William Shatner done in less than ten minutes when we had to get to the Michael Dorn talk), but yes, you do risk running late. That's why the ticket system works so well for cons like this -- this way, turning up for the con early means you can then do both things, even if you're a bit late for the talk. The talk did not have two empty seats that could have been used, the talk had two reserved seats that were empty for 5-10 minutes and then had us sitting in them, enjoying the talk that we queued to get tickets for.
