  1. I agree. She was so great. I went to meet her towards the end of the day on Saturday. I'm sure it was a long day for her, too, but she was still smiling, so super friendly, and so kind.
  2. The VQ tickets for autos are opened in batches. You don't have to go immediately when your number is available, but anytime after that. So they open it for tickets 1-100, then 1-200, then 1-300 and so on. If you don't go (or if you have a high VQ ticket number that they don't get to that day) then you would go through the whole process again the next day.
  3. Not sure, but would guess the captains will be closed off. Know what you mean about annoying, though. I couldn't afford Jeri Ryan or Karl Urban at LFCC - would have liked to at least get to see them , even from a distance. Not even going to hope that it's otherwise at DSTL as don't want to be disappointed anymore about this con.
  4. ummm, Chase Masterson being their is super special!!!!!
  5. Yeah, I think it's the event logo that's putting me off wanting to buy any. Though, my personal opinion is that photos are too large for me to keep in an auto collection. I'd rather have smaller, maybe even postcard size(or trading card size?) photos to get signed.
  6. I think only 37% of Gold had gone out before yesterday. I never really had big expectations for the 6 auto's anyway, can just see why some people are disappointed. It won't spoil the event for me, I'll just meet some people who I'd never have done so. Yeah, that's one of the reasons I love going to Glasgow Collectormania, getting to meet and hear from guests that I'd never considered meeting before and finding out how amazing they can be. last year there was a guy from Hellraiser series(never seen them) and this year there was the blue lady from farscape. I would never have deliberately chosen to meet them, but since the talks were free, I went and found them really amazing people. So I'm looking forward to meeting all of the guests on our tickets....just don't need to meet them twice when there are so many other guests that could have been on our passes. Anyway, as with you, Murph, even with disappointments, I'm not going to let them stop me from having a great time at this event!
  7. I mean, all I'm asking for is what I purchased. The website said random allocation of autos and that's what should have been given. Then they wouldn't have to assume anything.
  8. This is not a symphony or concert - no assigned seating for anything, so I still don't understand why you would be willing to put up money for a friend if you don't need to - what was implied that you should book together except to save 2 quid on shipping? I am sure more people will be disappointed to get the same than to get different, but whatever...at least i've learn from being burned!
  9. Personally I would assume that each individual would want a individual autograph regardless of if they are a couple/family/etc. Well, that sounds pretty wasteful, you must be rich to want to spend money on the same autograph for each person in your a family. For me, me and my partner could both go up in the queue together, pay for one autograph, ask that guest a question and then have it signed to MrBiji & Partner. No need for "To Mr Biji" and "To Partner of Mr Biji" separate autos when we could have different people if the organisers had any sense for the people that aren't made out of money.
  10. I don't really understand why it would be "natural" (see tickets words not mine) to assume that people booking together want the same autographs together. To me, people booking together are going to be families and couples, and couples would only need one autograph to the couple, not one autograph per individual in the family. Am I the crazy one for thinking this way?
  11. Well, that's a pretty big disappointment we received today. We had bought two gold tickets and when they showed up in the post today, we have exactly the same autos. So either every gold pass holder has the same autos or see tickets were pretty inconsiderate in sending out two batches of exactly the same autos. And since they're on the badge, it's not even like we can swap with others.
  12. Had a good time again this year. After attending LFCC for the first time this year, I can say I'm really glad the talks are free at Glasgow Collectormania. I didn't really know much about any of the guests, so hearing them talk was really interesting. Virginia was so inspiring, Michael Keating was hilarious, and Sarah Douglas sounded like she's had a lot of interesting experiences in her career! Didn't find anything at the stalls this year, and nothing at the auction either.
  13. They usually have a desk to purchase autograph tickets by card(separate to the actual auto queues) , but the lines can be really really long and slow so it's not something I go for as I'd rather spend my time at talks and looking at stalls. I think I'm misunderstanding you, though. What would be the difference between using a card at the show or just giving them cash? Either way, you're still giving them the same amount of money. (£15 by card or £15 in cash) I'd suggest taking out some cash from an ATM before you head to the venue and then if you run out either go to another cash machine near the venue for more or then use your card to pick up some auto vouchers.
  14. I don't want to add anymore confusion to your decision, but at London Film and Comic Con(very big Showmasters event), Sunday was much much quieter than saturday. It was my first year there, so I don't know if that's always the case or if it was because popular actresses like Gillian Anderson and Jeri Ryan were only there on that day.
  15. Rob, If it's anything like LFCC, they labelled the end of each row of chairs with ticket type and ticket numbers(tickets for talks, etc had a number on them and those buying first had lower numbers). So how I would imagine this working for DSTL is, for example, Row 1 is VIP ticket holders, Row 2 is Platinum holders with ticket numbers 1-20, row 3 is platinum holders ticket number 21-40, and on like that with Gold, silver, and general ticket holders last. The stewards didn't check every person's number, but there was never an issue with too many people trying to fit into one row so I didn't see any arguments about people not sitting where they are supposed to. Saying all that, though, when I went to the Gates McFadden talk, there were so few people at it that she asked all the general ticket holders to move up into the gold seats so she wasn't having to talk over a whole bunch of empty seats. Oh Gates...she was so amazing!
