An obvious question with the dedicated guest diamond pass is, what happens if the guest cancels on the day? (As Far as I understand it Showmasters can't actually guarantee that any guest will be there, work commitments etc).

They accept Euros at SM events?!?! What?! When I exchange the money, I naturally get 50 pound notes too, but almost every time the crew seems suspicious when I hand them over. Are those notes really that rare in everyday use? According to my oldest brother who is now a retired Met Police Officer, £50 notes are both the most common forged note and also the least in general retail circulation. At work we recently had notification that certain £50 note designs/numbered sequences were being withdrawn due to counterfitting. To my personal knowledge, the £20 note is the highest available from cash points in the UK. In what way? In terms of forged to genuine of each note (eg number of forged £50 notes to genuine £50 notes compaired to all other notes issued? Or in total number? That is down to the venue not event organisers. That is the most stupidest thing I have read in this thread. Just because the venue had the fire exits chained up then SM take no responsibility? They were hiring the damn venue, fire escapes and health & safety should have been their NUMBER 1 priority. So if we want to ask SM why the fire escapes were chained up then we should be able to ask them and they SHOULD be able to answer because they SHOULD have asked the same damn questions to the venue managers. As I said, the most stupidest thing said in this thread so far. As I mentioned in an earlier post I was merely saying that any locking of fire doors would have be done by Earls Court and not SM. I understand that, but did SM request them open, and if so why did Earl's Court not open them. It's still a legit question that SM can answer, unless of course they did not request them to be unlocked. With regards to the comments about Showmasters not being able to control the number of people who turn up, note that such events as this are getting more popular, more mainstream. Attendance to all these events, not just the ones Showmasters put on, have been increasing for years. When I first started going to such events it was small scale to how it is today. Ultimatly Collectormania had to move out of the Centre MK shopping centre because it out grew the venue - not a bad thing, just a sign of how these events have grown. Over time they have attracted an more diverse group of attendee that when I first started to go, more females,young, old and family. (It was rare to see someone of a penionable age to be an attendee, if at all, when I first started to go). The queue on Saturday is more than likely no longer going to be an exception, as these events grow in popularity. Showmasters know that, so they can do things. As people have suggested previously make such events advance ticket only, or have a bigger venue (like Collectormaina moving from the Centre MK shopping centre to Stadium MK football stadium), if tickets are going to be available on the door, better queue management.

I'll bite. It's so good for a seasoned event goer to 'know the score', but what about all the newbies? There are people who are first event was this event, only not to get in. There also who turn up on the spur of the moment. All those who just turn on the day probably read on the website, in bold red text "there still plenty of entry tickets to the event can now only be bought on a first come first served basis at the show", the assume that there are "plenty". (Yes I know it's says first come first served). I think the main 'problem' is that there are so many people have bought pre-booked tickets / gold and silver passes. (So the events full before others turn up on the day). So the real question here is should LFCC just be a pre-booked ticket only event? If so, the complaints will be that people could not get a ticket, Showmasters website going down due to over demand, tickets being prioritised to dealers .

I'm asking this as an event attendee, what would people like to see at events, beside what's already held (talks, silent action, props etc)? A thought I had today would be a play (theatre) or number of plays, for example 'a brief history of Star Trek'? Or any other franchise. With Doctor Who there could be a version on each incarnation. These plays would be on the lines of what the Reduced Shakespeare Company does. As show masters already have talk stages, so space would not really be a problem (availability of that space is another question). Obviously there would have to be people to perform these plays, if amateur I'm sure some cosplayers would be up for it. If more professional, I'm sure there would be an additional charge.

There was over 800, I was 803 and in the end I did not see him. (I left about 2pm when the number on the board was either 120 or 220. Either way I thought that I would not get round to meeting him so I left. I'll hope he'll come back to a future event (hint hint...)).

This is just a bit of fun, what would be the ideal venue for you, if Showmasters could build a venue? For me it would be: In reachable distance from my home (well everyone would want it local to them, right?). Showmasters whould obviously have their own onsite office(s). Plenty of parking. It would incorporate an hotel and restaurant / bar. There would be an onsite shop (newsagents). There would be a large dealer, signing and photoshoot areas. There would be a seating area with tables - or would that area get used up by TCG people? Well a tradeing card swapmeet area would be nice. Arcade games area (currently Dinosaur King for me). Onsite cinema, with a facility for guests to give live commentary. Edited to add cloakroom for day visiters.

I love this thread! People are moaning about getting to the MK Dons stadium for Collectormania (but it's easy enough to get to LFCC, even when engineering works are being done on the train track). I would hate to think what football fans think about getting from CMK train station to the stadium (without free buses being provided). If you don't want to wait for the showmasters bus use the local bus services. It's a multiplex cinema (Odeon), bingo, bars ect.

I think there's some sort of shuttle bus between London Luton and the train station in Luton. I've never went that route before, but I think someone here mentioned that before.
