Recommended Posts

:D Hi

I tried to book into the purple hotel via the website but it seems to have been disbanded, some of them have reopend as "Blueberry" and Ive heard some have been taken over by Travellodge, it was really conveinient as it was only two mins from the venue. Does anyone know who has taken over the glasgow one? or an alternative suggestion for a nearby hotel

thanks in advance

As you say the website says

Sadly the last of the purple hotels was sold by the administrator of RHC this week and the brand has now been retired. New owners and or operators are now running all of the previous hotels operated by purple.

It didnt advertise very well, nor offer any decent deals for airport parking when I have looked before, its a shame as it had lovely rooms

Does any one have any more news regarding the purple hotel and who runs it now?

The Purple Hotel is an ancient establishment dating back to 3,000 BC. The original owner was Imamoromu Ukumorama, one of the last remaining members of the dreaded Cult of Ashimumo, who as any student of ancient Japanese history can tell you, were also responsible of launching upon an unsuspecting world the dread terror that is Yo Sushi.

78 years after the death of Imamoromu Ukumorama, his descendants continued to run the Purple Hotel as shrines to the Old Gods until the Esawoshinin Rebellion, in which the Armies of Esawoshinin laid waste to the Purple Hotels. The Armies of Esawoshinin were just like the beardy guys from 300 but with one important exception - they were totally 100% not gay. During a raid that lasted 17 of your Earth minutes all but one of the original Purple Hotels were destroyed. For more information on the Esawoshinin Rebellion, please refer to the Sanskrit text "Kingarburkaly Rantonurner: There Are Many Like It, But This One Is Mine" by Ghadarkinangsul Tanbeliteni Aykroyd.

Faced with such utter devastation, there was only one thing for the descendants of Imamoromu Ukumorama to do. Rebuild. And rebuild they did. Using slave labour from the uncharted island of Skelundrothvora, new Purple Hotels quickly sprung up across the land, once again providing weary travellers with good accomidation at a reasonable price. Oh, and a shrine to the Old Gods, of course.

Hope that helps clear things up.

Marty, can I please suggest that if people are genuinely asking for help, then you either offer something constructive in return or don't post at all please?

You did the same with the Star Wars merchandise topic too, and while you might find it funny, people do come on here for actual help sometimes.

Thanks :D

Sense of humour is very welcome, but please use it in the right places.

Usually every topic goes astray at least once sooner or later, but we at least try to keep the info topics (like this one here) on topic.

There's an attendee chatter topic where you can be humourous to your heart's content: http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index....showtopic=49631

To get back on track. I just went to the hotel today, all signs are up as the purple hotel. However it's shut. The roads closed off leading to the car park. Went to look in and there's not a soul around, no signs on the doors nothing. So its closed down.

Hope that helps clear it up

Erm. I don't think its possible for a hotel to disband. Unless the hotel in question was actually made up of lots of little hotels who then went off on their own to be hotels in their own right.

erm they have, some are now called blackberry, some have closed completely :D
