Vanna
Help! I know there'll be photos from Halloween, A Clockwork Orange, Heroes etc. but are there likely to be any from If and Time After Time? It's difficult I know, because he's done so much and you can't supply photos for everything... I might get something of my own from somewhere anyway, but it would still be nice to know, if at all possible. Btw, many thanks for getting such a great guest! For me it had to be either CM12 or GMEX and I chose GMEX purely for MM. I'm praying he doesn't back out, as I know many others are, but it just seems so unreal!!! gebes
We can never guarantee having a specific image or from a specific show/film. Even if we could say "yes, we intend to have a Smallville picture" there is no guarantee that there will still be one available when you meet the guest. As it says in the FAQ. What pictures will a guest have? SM do not post what pictures a guest will have in advance. There are reasons for this that I'm not going to go into. When you get there you can ask to see the pictures and if there are none you like you could go and buy one. There are always lots of stalls with good quality 8x10 photos. Saying that it's always a good idea that if you want a specific image signed, get it in advance and bring it with you. I borrowed this from another thread first of all. But from my own experience, If you're seeking something different ,from what the guest is most popular for, then I would advise you to seek out your own photo , item etc from the film you mention. I myself am getting Malcolm for Heroes, but wanted something different for my second auto from him, so I've gone with Blue Thunder. I figure everyone will be getting him for Clockwork Orange, Heroes, or Star Trek: Generations. Sometimes as well, the quality of your own item may be better then the photos that Showmasters supply. Lambourne
What I do is find a good HQ picture online and then go to www.jessops.com and get it printed of for around £1.20, and you'll recieve it in 2-3 days. Psychosis
That's still nowhere near big enough, Nicky It needs to be thousands by thousands of pixels. That size would only be a small fraction of a page - like a thumbnail itself.
Moderators DavidB Posted November 5, 2007 Moderators Share Posted November 5, 2007 Yeah, you need something far bigger than screen-size to be able to get a half-decent print out of it. You can stretch them but they'll come out really crap. I printed out some Heroes ones for when they were at the London Eye, and they were just bigger than my screen size, and even they looked slightly pixelly once I'd stretched them. nicky
I guess it depends on how fussy you are about the quality. I printed my Land of the Dead (2005) and From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) prints from that same website and it turned out like this A4 size (photobucket shrunk it down for msg boards): They looks great from a distance but you'd have trouble reading the smaller print on the film's credits under the title. Everything else is pretty decent enough though. It aint perfect but was the best I could find and they're now displayed in frame on my desk at work and I'm happy enough with them. Yes, I could have just bought the big posters but wanted something in a nice convenient size as too many big posters can be a problem if you have limited space and can be pricey if you want to frame them all. gebes
www.moviemarket.co.uk www.statesidestills.com www.bigscreenus.com All do a wide range of 10x8's but I have noticed the website is always way behind what they actually have at an event. Stateside stills if you email them, stating who you're after and from what film or TV show, may be able to source you stuff. But you need to give them a fair bit of notice in order to do this. graeme2020uk
www.bigscreenus.com has a nice signed still of Malcolm. So ive asked if its available in an unsigned form. Also if you change it to bigscreenuk it gives you it in UK currency.THeir in Kent so should arrive before the day. Also ive came across quite a few hi-res Malcolm photos from a range of movies although most are in b&w.When i wanna get them processed via an online company. They always say they can 'shrink ' my photo which means it doesnt fill the whole 8x10 page or i can fill it but im losing parts of the image. All the images are at least 1000 pixels. Is there anyway to take any photos and somehow FIT the ENTIRE photo in 8x10 without shrinking it or losing the tops and sides of the image? Also for stills check out www.allmoviephoto.com and http://outnow.ch/Media/Img/2007/Halloween/ thats a direct link to loads of hi-res images from Halloween but if you click on the film info at the top right hand side then Malcolm McDowell when the cast list comes up itll give you a list of other movies of his including quite a few other hi-res images. gilgalad70
Bearing in mind that Earl and Co will probably be there anyway, ordering stuff from Bigscreenuk is pretty pointless if you're anticipating them to get it in the post B4 u set off.... If you're after specific images, email them, and make sure they have them, and in what sizes, and maybe they might save a copy for you, or tell you to get to their stall early. At CM, they had walls of posters etc with Troy banners used as backing sheets, and boxes of images. There were plenty of Heroes images with Malcolm, but there again I didn't look for any others. I'll have If... poster or two there, plus an Aussie Clockwork Orange daybill. Quadbod had a 'Lucky Man' quad poster and I think a set of lobby cards at a good price. I doubt they'll do GMEX, but might be able to get u the stuff there before u leave..
