Kevin is one that by all accounts i'd only get 1 signed if it wasn't that he was on three primary sets for getting signed, if he was £10 cheaper per autograph i'd be investing more into him, but 3 is bad enough, especially at £25 for an extra, it again raises the on going question we all have about what is too much for too little.

even at £20 a signature it would be more reasonable, because with my "Mindwarp" going into overdrive work with Brian Blessed now going on that set instead of Season 23 as i have replaced my cover with one signed by Jayston and 3 others, there is serious consideration to replace "The Mysterious Planet" with "Mindwarp" for Colin Baker and put an extra £25 in for Kevin on the same set.

I hadn't even factored Colin and Sylvester into any equations yet. So we can add one from each of them to the list.

Thats the thing, the uncertainty as to some of the episodes he was or wasn't in, and the price have me playing a little safe for the time being

It’s a case of playing it safe, even now I’m only sticking to what have confirmed sources IE the magazines, so as it sits now why I’m going for “Earthshock”, The Dalek Collection and The Davros Collection are the ones I’m going for and have confirmed sources, even if I may have to invest in some more magazines to have a little rummage and find the sources myself.

the price again doesn’t help

okay just been thinking and comparing my Season 7 DVDs and the Season 7 Boxset and i have around 7 Names on the DVDs that i can't ever get on the boxset because of them dying which are:

  • Caroline John
  • Nicholas Courtney
  • Terrance Dicks
  • Paul Darrow
  • Christopher Benjamin
  • Les Conrad
  • Nick Hobbs

and it sucks like hell because being serious they're all fantastic names to have on the sets but its a shame that they can't all be on the same one especially the top 5, it really hurts how Season 7 is missing so many of its big names and that even Season 2 a season that predates by 5 years has more bigger names you can get on said set.

just makes me more Grateful for Derek Chaffer being announced for July as i can get him on all the important stuff as well, even reading his credits i'm tempted to put in an extra £20-£30 for him, which i should probably NOT do, just glad he's not in season 15 or either my Dalek or Davros Collections.

No like seriously someone stop me from putting more money down for this man.

I'm already at 4 from Derek this summer, and could make a case for more items like you.

The whole 3rd Doctor era seems to have taken the heaviest toll in regards to people we have lost. Rip to them all

Thing is I look at everything Derek Chaffer has covered it’s tricky to narrow it down, hell I may even put aside more money for him alone just so I can cover as much ground as I can especially as he has been on so much (but no overall project sets beyond Lost in Time, which I already have him on)

With "The Savages" either having been released this weekend or Releasing Tomorrow are we hoping for someone from this story at an LFCC soon, that said i don't know the state of the cast beyond Peter Purves but he would be a good land to have, especially because i could do with him on a few other items namingly my CD of "The Savages" and my dvd of "Genesis of the Daleks" for the simple reason of he's on a Bonus feature.

Kay Patrick did an event for Fantom last year, but like you I fear that After Peter they are the only two.

How dismal, time catches up in the end, but still has me baffled how some stories have several names and those that succeeded them have very little by way of comparison, a Big finish audio for example “The Stealers of Saiph” has no living cast members (a cheat I admit as it was only Mary Tamm, who damn didn’t she die young at 62) but that’s what happens it’s also what allows John Levene have briefly become a high ticket name again for Season 7, not that he never was for me as I have many sets that don’t have the lovely man’s name on it, but it still remains an example.

if anything during my more recent research the earliest known episode to which no cast survive has moved from “the Ambassadors of death” episode 6, to “Spearhead from Space” episode 3, a total 14 episode shift, just means I have to step my game up that little more, hell should Carole Ann-Ford or Maureen O’Brien go (hopefully for not another 10 years at least) that’ll push it to 1965 or even 1964

Ann Firbank has completed her private signing, and they've said she wont be making an convention appearances, which we more or less had worked out for ourselves

I’ll be honest I don’t like being an overly negative person, but that is annoying as I recall her being announced for 4-5 events before they gave up, and I’m unsure if any reason was ever given for her never turning up, sometimes we were given warning of weeks in advance, and other times just found out on the day

Looking at whose been announced for April should i decide to attend, financially i doubt i will be able to they've got a 1970's cyberman so thats a tempt right there, and another one in the form of Lesley Dunlop which whilst she's not in any story i enjoy, i can get her on "The Happiness Patrol" which would push that set to 5 names and season 25 (DVDS not Blu Ray) overall to 18 individual names, and if i do get her it would push that as a strong contender for the next Sophie Aldred signer, with the current front runner being "Silver Nemesis" as that itself is going to 5 names on saturday.

Well another place we’re not allowed to mention has booked Peters father in law.

but I have something I wanna say about this and Showmasters this is in praise of you guys so hold fire on getting annoyed.

the fact that this show have now started charging extra for personal items is saying a lot about their business practices, £20 more for me to get whatever I’m taking to get signed be it Series 4 or “the day of the Doctor” most likely the former, is just ridiculous what’s the honest difference between getting a print at the table and a personal item signed

Faye Marsay has just been announced, now I have her from 2019 Collectormania, so dont need her this year. But I'd be very surprised if there is no dual shoot with Varada on the cards as they were partners on Andor

As disgusting as the pricing tiers are, the higher price is for Funkos and props, the lower tier whilst still ridiculously outrageous would cover a steelbook I think as it is a flat item. But that is just guesswork

We finally have one exclusive to the Capaldi Era with Faye Marsay who was Shona McCullough in the 2014 Christmas Special "Last Christmas" Opposite Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and special guest star Nick Frost, a character who was meant to be a companion until Coleman decided to stay on for, better or worse.

for those interested this episode also features Dan Starkey.

for Marsay you'll need:

  • "Last Christmas"
  • The Complete Ninth Series
  • The 10 Christmas Specials Boxset

Marsay is attending on the Saturday Only and is £35 for an autograph or Photo, and then she's available for a duo photo with Verda Sethu for £90 but this is Star Wars Related as opposed to Doctor who.

Making his return to LFCC after a years absence (I think) is Simon Furman who worked primarily on comics for the sixth and seventh Doctors however his contributions extend beyond this even into the audio catagory having written for Peter Davison, Nicolya Bryant and Caroline Morris with "The Axis of Insanity" for the Main Range of Big Finish, whilst on DVD and Blu Ray hes contributed to a few Special Features.

for Furman you'll want from the more easy to access items:

  • "The Twin Dilemma"
  • "The Delta and the Bannerman"
  • The Collection Season 23
  • The Collection Season 26
  • "The Axis of Insanity"

Simon-Furman-Base-Image.jpg

Furman is attending both days and signs for free.

at this point all i have left for him is my Copy of Season 23 which he will go on the Booklet.

Checked my Magazine log and turns out I also have a few classic magazines he can sign, so that’s now one added onto there

No release date as of yet, but the upcoming season has pre orders for the box sets and steel books

I saw that, that said if the release date was say end of June or early July and i mean very early just prior to LFCC it would open up a lot of Bank loans for me to get a second Autograph from Sethu options of signatures, but it is weird that the series is up for preorder just 2 weeks before broadcast.

So obviously yesterday didn't go as planned, Timothy Combe, Derek Martin and Wendy Gifford were all ill and couldn't attend, and this was only announced last minute so i showed up with a massive amount of cash in my budget and a ton of guests which i couldn't get on extra stuff as i wasn't home.

a lot of us agreed Gifford could have been somewhat affordable to lose but Combe and Martin hit the hardest for me as they were going to both be on "The Mind of Evil" and Season 7, with the latter joining my "The Ambassadors of Death" and "Inferno", effectively to cut that short two guests who were going to cover a lot of ground between them.

Hopefully they will be OK and can attend future events at their age better safe than sorry . Derek being a last minute addition himself.

As frustrating as it is, at least the money saved can be put to a future event.

Definitely true, I think what I’m annoyed about the most and what I admit is probably a certain amount of pettiness on my part is just how last minute it was and that I didn’t bring anything else, so all I was able to do was get a photo with Fiona Walker, my friend followed suit on the grounds she was the Fem Fatale and arguably the main villain of “Silver Nemesis”, just makes me want to get Sophie Aldred on the set all the more now, she was so lovely suffice to say

So announcement tomorrow any speculations

It's for Winter, and big enough to justify the warning but not enough to get a suffix such as 'big' or 'huge' so maybe not a headliner. I reckon it'll be from someone of the current Star Wars or Marvel disney shows

I'm guessing she was also added to Keys of Marinus as well.

I've seen some photos, she looked well, and seemed to be loving the event
