Doctor who guests (LFCC 2023)

Collectormania is just round the corner, and whilst the venue isnt large, we are thin on the numbers for guests, so it makes sense to concentrate on this event. Doesnt mean they wont announce guests for LFCC as well. But I think once Collectormania is out of the way, then it will be full steam ahead

I’m hoping that once they’ve done collectormania they re announce a few for LFCC specifically Anita Dobson because whilst I could do with her on “Blood of the Daleks” I know a lot of people missed out during spring because of the train strikes

Coming back to a previous topic of conversation, it was good to see the new publicity photos including Millie as well as Verada Sethu, although still a bit wierd they are advertising the new series before the current one has aired

It is beginning to annoy me that they’re giving so much away from the next two series IE that series 15 will have a second companion, maybe the leaks about Millie being replaced so soon we’re getting too much and they had to quash said rumours of only for her mental health.

It could also be this is the first time all three were in the same place at the same time so first time they could get a photo of all of them together. As wasnt Millie on holiday when the rumours came out.

But still all it would have taken was someone on the production team to come out and say shes still an important part of the team when it all kicked off to quash the rumours

The way i see it is when you have so many newspapers and tabloids saying you’ve already been replaced so quickly into your tenure on the show might be draining and someone from the production team saying you’re important to the show doesn’t always mean that you’re still gonna be on it, im guessing they decided they had to announce a lot sooner than they would have liked that she is staying and that they’ll be joined by someone else on Series 15.

I think the issue I have now is the same I have with Companions who aren’t big finish exclusives, I now know that Ruby isn’t gonna be killed off in series 14 and that no matter how intense a cliffhanger she’s gonna be fine next week.

i do hate modern journalism, I would love to have been able to watch “the war games” during broadcast given the cliffhangers to episodes 1,4&5 are some of the best of the show and given everyone knew they were leaving they played into said expectation

I agree completely, no matter how high the stakes are as to whether she'll survive or not, they've lost that element of surprise, unless of course you have avoided all spoilers. But this is partly their own fault for filming the two series back to back and the press constant need for spoilers and headlines

Had they spaced out the filming there would have been less chance of spoilers like this happening and they could have revealed the new companion after the series finished airing.

Hopefully she was given the support she needed behind the scenes

So I saw Warwick Davis has been announced for somewhere so what are the chances we may see him in this neck of the woods sometime soon?

cause he would be a big draw for a number of reasons and I could do with him on my Series 7 for a good number of reasons

If you are going to this one, pre-book the autograph, as at least then he cant jack the price up on the day.

Which would probably rule out Showmasters, as they wouldn't stand for that type of stunt

I'm not going no, its rare i deviate from locations i know but maybe next year i will more.

also if anyone is attending a certain event in May on the Sunday they have the voice of Janis the Goblin from "The Church on Ruby Road" attending and i believe they're signing for free

I see Derek Martin has also been re-scheduled after his recent illness. Which, as he's back doing shows is a good thing.

And John Leeson is joining him, also a good sign that he has recovered. Christopher Robbie has pulled out though. Although, this is nothing to worry about, as he's just moving house

Yeah one thing that does worry me is so has Wendy Gifford and given her age that is something i am now worried about, but given they've rebooked the two who couldn't make it last month is a good start, however because of my budget i cant get too many more things signed.

That is exactly my sentiment, I'm glad they re-booked as it means they are ok, and that they confirmed it was nothing more serious than moving house for Christopher Robbie, as at their age it is concerning. I have him on one poster, so I was in two minds about sending the other.

My budget is similar, I have two events early next month and supposed to go to one in Wales at end of month. Fortunatly enough, by pure chance, the one autograph I would have wanted from that convention, is now at LFCC, so I dont have to worry about a 6/7 hour round trip

Yeah i'm hoping the same for Wendy.

the problem is that of course that with her being replaced by the Likes of Derek Martin for example is his line up of opportunity is more diverse, and thus i have a wider pool to chose from making choice more difficult, but within budget i have Lost in time & Season 15 as there are 5 other guests from that season alone, so i'm gonna guess they're all gonna be on the same half together.

as for booking John Leeson, i'm keeping it simple with Season 15 and The Davros Collection even if he's not K9 in the latter it still helps to start off strong on the bat with two names, and if i had an extra £15 i would bring Series 2 for what would move up as one of my best combos of names IE David Tennant and 4 companions (even if only 1 is actually a companion in said series, 1 makes a mere single episode appearance and 2 are more regulars than anything else, and by this point i should consider Jake's actor Andrew Hayden Smith a companion as well making 5 if you think about it, but basically some strong main players).

either way i'm gonna be doing some great combo work, 2 more names for Lost in Time making a total of 29 names, Season 15 will bounce to a strong 7 names with 2/3 of the main cast, Series 7 will have 16 names, "The Invasion of Time" will bounce to a good 7 Names, the same with Series 1, so all in all i will be getting some strong combos this time.

Same logic as getting John on my Rembrance DVD, as he is the Dalek Battle Computer, I have re sent this in as cant make this show. So fingers crossed 2nd times the charm.

It is nice that they are getting as many of season 15 as they can, which even extends into next months line up as well

I'm also sending in my Greatest Show DVD covers for another event, which will bring that on up to 12 signatures on my main one and 7 on the other, and baring Ricco Ross ever making an appearance this side of the pond the main one will be as complete as it will ever be.

Finally doing this job properly with covering all aspects as best i can so lets get on with it.

with a single credit for Doctor who we have Lew Stringer who wrote and did the artwork for a single comic book story "The Daft Dimension" for Doctor who Magazine issue number 477.

he is attending on all 3 days and i'm at this point unaware of his pricing.

Next with more credits as since their was no page dedicated to him it took me a lot of deeper research IE crawling through pages to find credits we have Kev F Sutherland finally able to pin down some things to him.

the most mainstream he has done is as a writer on a DVD bonus feature entitled "the Trial of Doctor Who" for "The War Games" which is a single 6 minute comedy short, whilst his more prominant but less mainstream works are for Doctor who Magazine issues 157, 163, 167, 179, 181 & 192 (163 & 192 also have Paul Cornell Works) with multiple comic credits to his name, even if their exists no page for him.

He is attending on all 3 days and like Stringer i have no price available as he is a comic guest.

All good no harm done, the only person I’m never getting on the set (whose still alive) is of course Noel Clarke for reasons of an obvious nature.

Also going back to the Warwick Davis Discussion his wife has just passed away I’m assuming that’s any event appearances out of the question for the indefinite future

I wouldn't even have made a joke about getting him on it. I know some people would quite happily add him to the boxset, but not myself
