leatherface
On a constant search to find metal bands that just go that bit further with heavyness, i'm wondering what any metal fans on here think the heaviest band or album that they have heard is. Heaviest band i've ever heard is Mortician, they are actually ridiculous. damn good death metal though especially if your into horror films. Moderators DavidB Posted May 17, 2004 Moderators Share Posted May 17, 2004 Children Of Bodom ... ok they're not THAT heavy really but I generally don't go for toooo heavy stuff or it gives me a headache lol
leatherface
yeah what i've heard of children of bodom was quite heavy, although i'm not really a big black metal fan. however they dont come close to mortician, thier stuff can SERIOUSLY mess up your speakers, the bass is so downtuned. Kell
The Teletubbies, man that's stuff heavy
leatherface
hmmm well they all sound pretty much the same , lol. so any will give you a good idea of what i mean. 2 of my faves are "three on a meathook" and "zombie apocalypse". most tracks have a stupidly long clip from a horror film in , but after that the actual "music" starts. Strider
Static X, System of a Down, Jesus and Marychain, Godsmack, Powerman 5000...some early Metallica, some Soundgarden, but I dunno...it seems, whenever I am in the mood for heavy music, nothing is ever heavy enough
Hobbit_of_Dorsetshire
Cannibal Corpse may be contenders. Laughable, puerile and a total comedy act...but heavy indeed! Brutal Truth were pretty skull-crushing too... Ouch...
Jason_Voorhees
Static X, System of a Down, Jesus and Marychain, Godsmack, Powerman 5000...some early Metallica, some Soundgarden, but I dunno...it seems, whenever I am in the mood for heavy music, nothing is ever heavy enough I wouldn't class much of that as heavy. Jason_Voorhees
Well , I didnt mean they weren't heavy. Just not the heaviest. If you catch my drift.
Strider
I catch it, but off the cuff, it isn't bad...and it also depends on what other stuff you have heard to compare to
Gandalfia
I know absolutely NOTHING about Metal..............but I saw a band called Sikth live last year. And yeah..........I was scared.

I think Slipknot did a good job of the heavy stuff , i'm talking the early material , not the recent stuff.
Jason_Voorhees
The theres Slayer and Pantera to name a couple.
Strider
yeah..I used to really like Slipknot, back when hardly anyone knew about them. Now they have gone mainstream...I dunno..sold out?
Jason_Voorhees
yeah..I used to really like Slipknot, back when hardly anyone knew about them. Now they have gone mainstream...I dunno..sold out? Yeah. Too commercial. They've gone in the Limp Bizkit / Linkin Park direction.
Strider
yeah they have...the same with Limp Bizkit. I first heard them years ago when I visited a friend in the US. I brought over a copy of the CD because it was stuff I had never heard, then the inevitable happened...they became popular and their stuff was everywhere. Now they do a good tune now and then. Linkin Park on the other hand, I have to admit, I do like a lot their stuff..moreso since I was given a ticket to one of their gigs and found myself enjoying it a lot
Jason_Voorhees
I don't mind either of them to be honest. Its just metal / punk or whatever you wanna label it as has gone too mainstream in general. Its cool to be 'alternative' now.
Strider
Slayer and pantera...I had forgotten about those until you just mentioned them. I have to admit though, I have only heard maybe a few of their songs, and it was so long ago I don't even rememeber what they were. oh, and back to Slipknot...the whole mask thing is kind of old now..does anyone really care anymore? Jason_Voorhees
The mask thing is yes as far as im concerned. I was only thinking the other day that i'd like to see them do a gig all unmasked.
Strider
two words for that gig... Sell Out!!!
Jason_Voorhees
Indeed. Even better would be to do it with out saying anything. Just come out , come showtime with no masks on.
