twinzz
Hey Local Brightonneers?/Brightons?/Brightonians?/Brights?/Brightillians We're looking at making reservations at a decent establishment in Brighton that also offers some vegetarian options (one of our guests is Vegetarian) - any recommenations for restaurants close to the venue (w/o the uber-extortionate prices those "touristy" places offer...) thanks! twinzz
the local tourist board will not provide personal experience, which is why we're asking :) - we have (of course) googled restaurants but would like to know people's preferences

There are local reviews websites as well with personal reviews from people who have used them. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurants-g186273-Brighton_East_Sussex_England.html
Theonionmaid
My sister is meeting me on the Friday and we are going to a place called Northern Lights. Pretty good prices, not looked at vegetarian options,

I go to Pompoko far too often. In fact, I'm meeting friends there tomorrow night before seeing Foxes at Concorde 2.
nightshadewolf
Have you tried Murasaki? It's a bit of a trek and it costs more but (sorry Pom Poko) their takoyaki is much better. It's not drowned in sauce like the ones you get at Pom Poko. I might maybe sneak into Pom Poko on Friday at lunch because it's pay day this week. Could go for some ebi fried! http://www.murasakirestaurant.co.uk/

No worries. And they do this thing in London in November called the Hyper Japan Christmas Market. It might be a little late to get tickets this time around but I mostly go for the street food stalls, anyway. Do you know about E-Kagen? It's 5 Fenchurch Walk, just down from Brighton station. http://ekagen.mitsu-hide.com/shop.html They sell these http://www.senjukitaya.com/ And beer, mochi, found curry pan there once... I'll be the chubby one in a Toothless hoodie wanting to buy all of the things.)
