hi there

you'll have a great time just go with the flow, the fans are friendly and you'll have a great fun time. Are you dressing up at all in the evening too.

hope your ready to party, we have a great bunch of guests too.

a lot of us have been to the last 2 hallowhedon's so they must be doing something right.

you get your pics and autos done in the morning, q&a in the afternoon and the evening we party till the early hours.

if your going to the drinks party, there is plenty of wine and you get time with each of the guests in a small group of other fans.

hope you enjoy it.

Some other things to Look forward to;

Cool Gifts

The gold reg pack comes with some shiny free gifts!

It's a bit different each year, but (if I'm remembering right) last year us goldies got a tshirt, mug, badges, glow in the dark dingoes ate my baby guitar pick and magic shop business card. you also get an A4ish size photo of each guest and I think a group photo of all the guests at the event (please note this is of the guests only, not with fans and is given out later, not in the reg pack)

Some seriously cool party's

For the Friday and Saturday night they have done a top job of the parties (Sunday night is fun too but its more of a wind down, chill out with friends evening than a party). At prev hallowhedons there has been a bungee run, rodeo spider, regular rodeo machine, karaoke, casino games... It's a lot of fun and sometimes the guests join in! Robin Sachs was pretty good at the ol' rodeo spider!

An empty wallet

This is the down side. You have to be very strong willed not to spend a lot lol food and drink in the hotels can be expensive, so it's worth checking out alternative places to eat and bringing drinks with you. As it's at a new location I can't suggest alternatives, but I can guarantee if there is somewhere else nearby it will be packed with attendees at meal times lol

In addition to thus there's the dealers room which at the last few cons has consisted of about a dozen sellers selling whedon and other scifi related goodies plus they have an auction each year.

It's all optional spending but so easy to get caught up in the fun.

You also have the option of buying extra photos and autographs with each guest. Last year they surprised us with the option of having a group photo with all the guests which was pretty awesome! And at £40 very reasonably priced, but there's no guarantee that will happen

Friends

It's inevitable you will make some new friends at the con. I'm ridiculously shy and even I've made friends there! Online friends will increase too, my facebook and twitter friends always boost in numbers around con time.

Laughs

We have a hell of a lot of fun. The guests have had my sides aching and tears rolling down my cheeks from laughing :)

My advice is, join in as much as you can and chat with everyone. This will be my 4th con and almost everyone i've met has been lovely at these events. The stewards are top notch and generally big fans too! don't be shy about asking questions, fans and stewards are all great at helping out if there's something your not sure on. I usually ask a fellow fan first cos it's a good way to break the ice and meet new people.

There's usually a bit of waiting around in the mornings between your photos and autographs but that time is easily filled by chatting to the other fans (or nipping back to your hotel room for a nap if you were up late at the parties lol)

I hope that helps and gives you a better idea of the event. If I think of anything more I'll add it later :)

The guitar pick, Magic Shop card, the photos and (I think) the badges were in everyone's packs last year. I was silver and I got them, and my girlfriend was standard and I'm pretty sure she got them too.

Hi all this isn't my first time but my question sort of relates.

This is my first time staying at a hotel for an event. What time do you more seasoned hotel staters recommend arriving by to allow time to check in and register. How long does it usually take?

I've never stayed at the Radisson before, but I can't imagine they're any less efficient at checking people in than the Hilton. I'd say that half an hour would be plenty of time to check in, register at the con desk and pop up to your room with your bags before heading to the opening ceremony, if you can;t get there any earlier.
