Later, Robertson went to work for Marvel on 'Wolverine', 'Spider-Man' and 'The New Warriors'. He met Warren Ellis while doing a project for Acclaim comics ('The Man of the Atom'), and the two decided to continue working together on 'Transmetropolitan' for DC. In 2001, he signed an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics and relaunched 'Wolverine' with writer Greg Rucka in May 2002. He then took on 'Nightcrawler' and 'Fury: Peacemaker' (with Garth Ennis). In 2006 he began a new comic with Ennis, called 'The Boys'.
