Meet up for drinks after the saturday con?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if there is a place where people meet up for drinks after the convention. I went last weekend and had a fab time, however it would have been nice to socialize a bit more with like minded people who have the same interests as myself. It's not that easy during the con when you're rushing around trying to fit in as much as you can. If there isn't would be people be interested in going somewhere for drinks after?

I'm up for that! :firedevil:

There isn't an official place no. Do feel free to see if anyone is going anywhere though, as there's always people wanting to socialise and plenty of options.

OK cool. If anyone is up for drinks after let us know on this thread so can work out how many of us there would be. I don't know Earls Court that well but i'm sure there will be a pub/bar around.... and if people are feeling in the party mood can always go central :D

Excellent! Seems like we're getting a cozy crowd

I've booked little area at 5.30pm in The Kings Head pub Earls Court

We can meet at the con and walk down there in a posse (or you can just turn up there)

Feel free to PM me if you do wanna meet at con beforehand.

Certainly seems a decent wee pub, divvnt s'pose any idea wot prices for pint (ciders) are? :P

Don't know prices but from reading local reviews it won't be anymore than the other local pubs in that area...if that's not the case we might end up on a crawl :D

Shame there was a poor turn out for this.

Saying that it was good to meet KingRichard76 and also M**** (won't mention his name here as courtesy).

It was a long and tiring day but I'm glad I got to meet you both and really enjoyed hearing your stories about cons, films and celebs. One of the better style of conversations i've had in recent times lol ;)

It was fantastic to meet the pair of you as well, and I totally agree about the conversations we had, I saw M**** a few times yesterday in the queue for the Kristanna Loken photoshoot queue.

And amen about it being a long and tiring day but was an absolute pleasure seeing people in the flesh as it were.

Next time it will be a bigger gathering of us in the pub, am sure of it.

P.S. I did get Jeff Goldblum and Mercedes that night.

Having looked through the forums this morning, it seems someone wants to know if there was a Facebook group for LFCC 2010 which I don't think there was.

However, if someone (not me cos I have no idea how to start a group, add pics etc) did start one up for next years event, then perhaps a group meet up can be arranged on there.

Just a small suggestion.

Hey guys you don't need to keep censoring my name. I'll register so that you don't have to do it anymore hehe.

It was nice to meet you and so many other like minded people at the convention, I only really got to spend the sunday there and a lot of that was queueing, but even in the queues everyone was friendly and i chatted to a few people. It was nice meeting up with you guys on the saturday night and chatting though, it's rare to find people who share the same interests.

Next year i think i'll come up to london on the friday night, so that i can spend the two days there, since you can't really go to many talks or anything on the day that you're getting photos.

If anyone who met me or anybody going to Hallowhedon 2 would like to add me on facebook, this is me: http://www.facebook.com/semtexjack

I think starting a facebook group for next year would be a really good idea. I know how to start them myself if nobody else wants to step up and do it, it's pretty straightforward.

YAY! Good to see you in virtual world Marcus. Most def when you come to London next year/time let us know and we can try arrange to meet again! Hope you managed to get all you needed to on the Sunday.

P.S. I did get Jeff Goldblum and Mercedes that night.

Oh mate that's EXCELLENT. I'm well chuffed for you. Did you have to wait for long? How was Jeff? was he in good spirits? Cool that you got Mercedes too-loved her in The Fisher King.....

.... and trust you to spot him in Kristanna Loken's qeue

Yeah that would be cool! I must admit I did do it last minute which didn't help. It was just a thought a few days before then convention.

To my ignorance I often forget that people really do come from a good distance into London, so it would be nice if we'd have a meet up to get familiar with faces etc. Makes the whole experience a lot more fun than it already is.

Oh another thing, the crew were also very helpful and friendly, I could see them beginning to get stressed during the mayhem of the photo collection but they kept their cool and kept calm, and still managed to keep a sense of humor. Kudos to them.

If you fancy doing it Marcus, that's great.

I think if you put a link up here, it may get lost in the post event threads, so may be better to wait till SM put a LFCC 2011 page on the forum.

I wouldn't mind setting up a facebook page as already have done so in the past but if Marcus would prefer to instead that's cool.

I second your sentiment the people there on both days made it a very enjoyable day and was great to talk to you.

Was lovely to meet you.
