I'll be 17 by the time the hallowhedon comes around and I'm gonna be on my own seeing as no one I know wanted to come plus I've never been to a con before yeah......I've forgotten what my point was. while I'm here though, might as well ask; are under 18s allowed to do pretty much everything everyone else does? (other than drink alcohol, that's a pretty big 'duh' even to me) I'm mostly on about the dealers table and stuff. oh, and if there's anyone else who's going to be on their own and as unsure as me feel free to E-mail me at fallenangeleternal@live.co.uk maybe we can meet up, might as well get lost with company although BEWARE; I frequently fail to speak sense and...yeah, I think I'm done now................bye... Hey I've not been to a con before either and won't know anyone (except my bf) and also have no clue what I'm doing! Am 24 but frequently act a lot younger!! As far as I know under 18s can do everything anyone else can, even the Fri night with the casino party is not using real money for the gambling, it's 'fake money', so I would think you could do that. And the dealers room is just like a load of stalls I think, so I guess they'll be happy to take your money no matter how old you are!! There's a thread somewhere on here about meeting up with other forumers on the Fri afternoon... you could come along to that and say hi! What ticket have you got? Think I'll introduce meself first. I'm Aiden and I'm 18 years old. I will probably be at this event as i frequently attend showmasters conventions and crew the larger ones. I am also good friends with one of the organisers. You will be able to do absolutely everything that over 18 attendees get to do except for drink alcohol, however I am not sure on the hotel's policy on providing rooms for under 18s, some can be a bit funny about it. The dealers tables are open to everyone and the parties are all suitable for all ages, many parents bring their small children to them. Every single person at the convention will be friendly and I'm sure you will quickly make friends. fallen-angel-eternal16 Posted May 6, 2009 Author Share Posted May 6, 2009 thanx I've got a silver ticket I've phoned the hotel (the thistle) and they say that 17 is fine, I'm just not allowed in the bar, which is tragic but I'm sure I'll get over it so I'll be all on my ownie-own but if the people on here are anything to go by then everyone seems pretty awesome and I talk to anyone and everyone. And seeing as, ya know, we're all going cos we love the whedonverse... I'm pretty sure there'll be no lack of conversational subjects. My friend would probably have loved to go just because James Marsters will be there, but she's younger than me and no matter how responsible I am, nobody would trust us both to be together unsupervised in London, especially seeing as I'm gonna be traveling on my own from Cardiff we'd probably manage to get ourselves arrested or she'd rope me in to some crazy plan to kidnap James.....can't say I'm much saner on my own but it's more babble, less crime. Age doesn't really bother me; older, younger, whatever, so long as you're not psycho killers or anything, you know ..........................oh, dippo. See: I babble!! My roommate at university this year was 17 (and I'm 20), and I didn't even notice to be honest! I'll be flying solo at this event too, so maybe we can meet up and such like!
