Panel panel everywhere

I'd love to be on the panel! I seem to have an issue... the bit that stops dirty stuff coming out doesn't work - so I'd fit right in

LOL ditto on all of that.

Think we'd make a right pair on that xD Spread the glorious site of dA to everyone too.

And cosplaying.

We should make our own panel xD

Maybe we could have a panel with people from the audience i liked the whole (excuse me was it carman) audience member on stage!

lol yeah that was CarmenXD I think it sounds fun, I'm sure Hilton is big enough that could find space big enoughXD

I'm afraid personally I wouldn't be thrilled at all if they did that.

I've paid to attend the event because I want to hear from the actors - not other attendees. The panels are only 45 minutes long as it is - I wouldn't want to have to share that time between actors and attendees.

It was a nice idea to auction off that spot on the panel but I must admit initially I was doing quite a lot of internal groaning at the beginning as obviously its very hard on the actors coming up with interesting and funny things to say - never mind the attendees and things were a bit painful at first. The panel improved and the girl was very sharp by the end but if that was to become a feature of the event then I'd certainly skip that panel and perhaps rethink my attendance of the event.

You've a habit of beating me to it, Persephone! Exactly my feelings - as a one off, because Burn had to go and for Kai's fundraising, fine. As a regular thing, it would be something I'd want to avoid and would really not be happy to have playing any scheduled (and therefore paid for) part of the weekend.

Great minds think alike!

One off - fine. But otherwise its not what I've paid for.

If I was interested in hearing my fellow attendees on panels I wouldn't be going to this type of event but to the type of fan run conventions that are often held in the US which are actor free and tend to focus on aspects of fandom.

Nobody loves a great fan confab more than I, but I'm another who really wouldn't like to see this. We can talk to each other any time through various means, but the actors we actually have to pay to see, unless we know them or live close enough to the filming sites to be able to see them there. One of the biggest joys of going to the Hub is chatting with fellow fans. The other is meeting the actors and (frankly) watching them entertain us. The panels allow that last thing to happen, and then we get to socialise afterwards or in the breaks between. I want to keep the panels for the guests.

Me too on the audience member of the panel idea - alright as a one off and as it was for charity but not regularly.

Liking the idea of a Torchwood panel versus audience team - not sure about the debate bit but be interesting if it was a sort of quiz idea with Torchwood questions- audience members would have to be drawn out of hat though to make it fair - but would be something different (remember how Mr Grumpy got the Torchwood details wrong at the last hub)

It was a good idea for charity, i agree with persephone1, it could be abit annoying, (no offence to anyone!) because the actors only just think of enough jokes to come up with, but for audience members it would take longer for them to feel comfortable, therefore it could be abit boring.

I like the quiz idea though, to draw someons name out of a hat, and ask them a question, and they could be up against one of the panel.

So generally, i don't think the audience panel is a good idea, also, you'd probably hav to cut something out to do that to...
