cheap airlines

hey gang I'm trying to get a flight to Germany (Nueremberg or Munich) pref from Cardiff but otherwise does not involve London/Luton/Stanstead or Manchester but I've run out of places to check

 

if you can post cheap airlines that you use or know of please help!

Easyjet

Lastminute.com have flights for £170 or £119, only £100 over what I was aiming to pay

I use Easyjet but only worth it if you book, a few months in advance. I would give them a try?

I normally use easyjet as they are the most comfortable and slightly more expensive than the budget airlines.. I would reccomend doing an expedia search though for flights only as they will have a database of all the airlines that go from Cardiff to either city..

I'd say Jet2.com but they fly out of Manchester. Any reason why you don't want to go out of Manchester?

My advice to you would be to draw up a list of airports that you are willing to fly from (I'm guessing Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham would be acceptable)

Then go to the airport websites, and see what carriers fly from there, and if they go to where you want to go; saves looking at loads of budget airline sites like HLX, bmibaby, Germanwings etc, only to find that they only fly out of Stansted or Manchester, or only fly into Dresden and Hamburg.

If you really want to check which budget airlines fly where, try

It's not always budget airlines that are cheapest, though. Doing a random search for May 1, the cheapest I found was Birmingham to Munich for £107.50 return, on Lufthansa.

 

And don't even think about going in June or the first half of July - I doubt that there will be any seats (let alone cheap fares) left during the World Cup!

True, adds a bit of time... but if it's cost you're worried about surfy, there is always the good old Megabus taking u from Cardiff to London for about a pound if you book enough in advance.

I didn't wanna fly from Manchester as I don't drive so getting there is a real problem taking 4-5hours by train

 

Luton/Stanstead is same prob, takes far too long to get there cheaply by bus, adding extra days to trip travel (which is a prob because I'm a student nurse and normally only get Sat&Sun off)

 

London I only ruled out as I was under the impression it would cost alot to fly out from there getting there is only 3hours and, as pointed out, MB is cheap yey!

Well to get to London I'm using two one way tickets... One is easy jet to London, and the other is Ryan Air back form London... That made it cheaper for one, and it means I get to have 3 full days in London cos Ryan Air had a relativelt late flight on the way back which Easy Jet didn't and Easy Jet had a much earlier flight to London than Ryan Air so that's just taking the best of both worls.

 

Shop around is all I can say, cos I've never flown anywhere, ever, so I woulnd't know anyhting about travelling.
