Storing Autographs

Recommended Posts

Now we have our autographs what is the best way to keep them

I currently have mine in a folder in some clear plastic pocket files

(the cheap type you can get a box of 100 from most stationers)

there were some sturdy clear pockets but thicker plastic ones on sale at one stall for £1 each

although they didn`t have folder holes in them

i suppose i`ll frame a few and then keep rest in some type of plastic pockets

will any frame be ok , or do i need something special

any suggestions for pockets as well

I have brought a special storage book for mine, they have sturdy presentation folders in them and a hard thick cover. I read somewhere that some of the pens that are used for signatures don't react well under the glass.

Best thing to do is to buy a hardback ultrapro card collectors book, and then buy some ultra pro 8x10 archival photo sleeves, and store them in the folder. That's how i have all my autos stored.

Loads of dealers were selling the binders and sheets at the event.

There was a big thread about how to store your autographs just before C5 and one of the best if not the best method is to get an Ultra Pro Ring Binder and a pack of the 8.5x11 Ultra Pro wallets, they are designed for photos so your autographs will be perfectly safe in them. The normal A4 plastic wallets are not the best thing to use, might be cheap but they can damage your photo so I would change over as soon as possible.
