  1. Here's a list of some of the people I would like to see at C8.... Tom Hardy - Black Hawk Down, Star Trek, Band of Brothers Razaaq Adoti - Amistad, Black Hawk Down, Doom Omid Djalili - Gladiator, Spy Game, The Mummy, James Bond, Sky Captain Michael Sheen - Kingdom Of Heaven, Timeline, Underworld, League Of Gentlemens Apocolypse Veronica Cartwright - Alien, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, Scary Movie 2 Ralph Macchio - The Karate Kid 1,2,3, My Cousin Vinny Pat Morita - The Karate Kid 1,2,3,4 James Tolkan - Back To The Future 1,2,3 (as Strickland), Top Gun, d*** Tracy, Amityville Horror Rutger Hauer - Blade Runner, The Hitcher, Batman Begins, Sin City Joanna Cassidy - Blade Runner, Six Feet Under That's just a few. Basically anyone in a Ridley or Tony Scott film. But also perhaps some people from classic films, which everyone in general likes, like Karate Kid, Back To The Future, etc.
  2. I think a Black Hawk Down reunion would be great. I don't think you'd ever get people like McGregor or Isaacs or Bana, but I'm sure possibly something could be done about getting people like Tom Hardy, Hugh Dancy, Ian Virgo, George Harris, Razaaq Adoti, and many more of the other people involved in the film, many of them have done a lot of other famous work as well.

  4. I always like to get 8X10 photos from the films with them in character. I was really dissapointed with some of the selections at C7. You had about 4 photos of Alexander Siddig and all were from Star Trek, it would have been nice (especially seen as the film was opening that week) for 'Kingdom Of Heaven', especially given he had quite a main part in the film, plus Fox had given his website several photos a few weeks before C7. I also thought that SM should have had more photos of Christian Simpson from films other than Star Wars, a shot of him from 'Gladiator' would have been cool. Or if SM can't get photos of characters then perhaps selling posters for their films at their tables would be cool. I also think, off topic a little bit, perhaps SM ought to advertise other work the guests have done, e.g. Christian Simpson was also in Mummy Returns, Gladiator and Batman Begins, yet they only advertised him as being in Star Wars.
  5. For me it really does depend on which film they were in. I love Star Wars and that, but I wouldn't bother with every single person. However when it comes to someone from Kingdom Of Heaven or Gladiator, then I would get anyones I could. Christian Simpson only said one line and was only seen for a matter of seconds in Gladiator, but I got his autograph anyway, mainly because I am a huge Gladiator fan, but also because when you're dealing with "smaller" characters they tend to talk more about their experiences because with the main people they have pretty much been asked the same questions about their work about 50 times already.
  6. I really enjoyed meeting the following: Christian Simpson (Gladiator, Star Wars, Mummy Returns, Batman Begins) - I spoke to him for about 15 minutes about his working with Ridley Scott, college, scripts, etc. Really nice chap. Alexander Siddig (Kingdom Of Heaven, Star Trek DS9) - Really nice chap. Gave me some nice comments on some artwork of him as Imad that I drew. I didn't really speak to him much as I was concious of the huge queue behind me, but he seemed a really nice person. Barnaby Edwards (Dr Who) - Very nice person. Spoke to him for a good 30 minutes. (I do apologise to anyone who was behind me when we were talking, niether of us noticed the queue build) He was very complimentary about my artwork and we spoke for ages about his artwork, working with Ridley Scott, etc. Shook his hand and was just a really top bloke. Jeremy Bulloch (Star Wars, 007) - Always a great guy, still recognised me, have met him many times and he is always so friendly and kind, top chap. Dave Prowse - (Star Wars, Clockwork Orange) - Nice to meet again, spoke about charities, etc, nice to meet him again, although I didn't speak for long because I didn't want to hold up the queue. I met some other guests but they were either quite quiet or I didn't really have anything to say to them.
  7. This was the third or fourth Collectormania event I have been to. It certainly seemed to be the busiest as far as I could tell. My first criticism would be the 20th Century Fox stall. Firstly - it ould have been better if there were actually someone from Fox there and not a Collectormania staff slauched in his chair looking bored and miserable (sorry but you did!). I saw people walking all over the place with Kingdom Of Heaven posters, but couldn't see where they were coming from. Rather than just leaving a few postacrds on the table, perhaps someone should be more active in giving them away. Also - the Kingdom Of Heaven competition was badly promoted and no one has bothered to announce the winner, which is ridiculous and this certainly needs revising! I had no problems with the VQ system - I think it is great. Thinkabout it, if you don't have it then you will have huge queues all day, and people will be waiting for ages and it will be completely unorganised. I do think that photos should be allowed to be taken with the guests and conversations, but I do think that these should be controlled, otherwise the queues would just stop. But do remember that when you have a popular guest, the sames qeustions are probably asked all day, so it boring for the guest. I also think that there should be pre-signed photos for sale (for the same price, or maybe cheaper) at the Crew Stand, that way people who aren't, or can't, wanting to meet the guests can get e autographs at a good price. I don't think that the venue should move from Milton Keynes. But perhaps some different organising of the layout. There wasn't enough room to move around in the stall area (especially with ignorant people stopping in the middle (not even to the side) of the ailes) Also - I thought it was quite irresponsible of people taking pusschairs around (Although I do understand about trying to find someone to look after one's children, but perhaps a little bit of considerations wouldn't go amiss - and I think that applys to everyone really, even myself) I didn't find any of the staff or stall owners rude at all - although I did find other members of the public rude. I certainly do not think that the convention should move out of Milton Keynes, not only because I think MK is a fantastic place (I may be the only one!) but also if they move to the NEC or somewhere like that, then it may mean more travelling for some people and ShowMasters may not get the numbers that attend MK. I met most of the guests I wanted to, although I wasn't fussed about the ones I didn't meet, and that was due to my bad timing. I was hoping to get to ask or have a brief chat with Alexander Siddig, but as I had several bits to put away after getting them signed I really didn't want to hold the queue up, as I know what it is like to wait to get someones autograph when someone else is chatting to them, without the end in sight! Anyway - I had a great time, although I do think that some more chairs around the main hall would be helpful (and also something to be done about people crowding around the queueing areas of the guests in the main hall as there are people there just staring at the guests and getting in the way. I can't wait for C8 and look forward to being there again in September.

There are of course so many more. Especially from specific films - those films for me would be.... Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Hannibal Lecter Trilogy, Legend, Alien, Blade Runner, THC 1138, Thelma And Louise, Planet Of The Apes, etc. They're some of the people from some of the films I'd love to see there, but either way I'm sure it'll be a great day - but I do think you ought ot get some behind the scenes people like Producers, directors, etc.
  10. I think it would be great if they could get Bolaji Badejo. Any of the Alien cast would be fantastic. I know that Veronica Cartwright (Lambert) has been to a few conventions. Yes - H.R. Giger is still alive. I would very much doubt he'd go to a convention. He was very poorly treated on the sequels to Alien, of which he was only involved in Alien 3 - but was treated badly then, and then they didn't bother giving him a credit for Alien Resurrection (when it was first released anyway). Still - if you want to try it I suggest having a word with his Manager - I've spoken to him a few times before and he's a very nice, helpful chap.
  11. Here are some of the guests I'd quite like to see at Collectormania 5 Tim Curry - Legend, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Veronica Cartwright - Alien Tom Hardy - Black Hawk Down, Star Trek Nemesis, Band Of Brothers Hugh Dancy - Black Hawk Down, Daniel Deronda, King Arthur David Warner - Planet Of The Apes, Titanic, Alice Playten - Legend, Amityville 2, I.Q Derek Jacobi - Gladiator, I Claudius Vic Armstrong - Stunts - Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Legend Bob Anderson - Stunts - Pirates Of The Caribbean, Lord Of The Rings, Star Wars Rick Baker - Make-up prosthetics - Planet Of The Apes, Gorillas In The Mist, American Werewolf In London John Hurt - Alien, Harry Potter Ian Holm - Alien, Lord Of The Rings Ioan Gruffudd - Black Hawk Down, Hornblower, Titanic Karen Allen - Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Scrooged Tommy Flanagan - Gladiator, Braveheart, Plunkett & Macleane Danny Webb - Alien 3, Henry VII, Bill Murray - Scrooged, Ghostbusters 1 & 2 Edward Furlong - American History X, Terminator 2, Pet Semetary 2, Animal Factory Dame Judi Dench - James Bond, Shakespeare In Love, Tea With Mousolini Avery Brooks - American History X, Star Trek, 15 Minutes Dame Maggie Smith - Sister Act 1 & 2, Harry Potter, Tea With Mousolini Keith Carradine - The Duellists, The Outsider, Sirens (also in a band) Albert Finney - The Duellists, Erin Brokovich, Alun Armstrong - The Duellists, The Mummy Returns, Proof Of Life There are so many others, But there's a bit of a range for people who I think might be quite good to have.

  13. I'd really like to see Omid Djalili at a Collectormania event. He was in such films as.... Gladiator - Slave Trader Spy Game - Beirut - Doumet The Mummy - Warden Gad Hassan Notting Hill - Cashier At Coffee Shop James Bond : The World Is Not Enough - Foreman Anita And Me - Uncle Amman Mean Machine - Raj Lenny Henry Whoopi - Nashim The Calcium Kid - Herbie Bush I think he'd be pretty cool to get. I'd also like to see Kevin J. O'Connor who was in such films as The Mummy - Beni God And Monsters - Harry Van Helsing - Igor Deep Rising - Joey Amistad - Missionary Lord Of Illusions - Phillip I think these are two really great actors whom I would really like to see at C4 or 5.
  14. Wow, I didn't think anyone would agree with me. Yeah, I'd love to meet Lance Henrieksen (sp???) He was also in films like The Terminator (he was actually going to be the Terminator at one point) and he also did a TV series from Chris Carter (creator of the X File) called Millenuim. So there's definately an audience out there for Lance. I would really like to see Veronica Cartwright there. She has done shows in the past I think and sell her autograph through her website, so she's obviously happy to meet and be incontact with fans and to sign autographs. It would also be ncie to see some people from the other Alien films. (Especially the first three) and quite a few, especially in Alien 3, are UK residents. William Hope would be cool, he was Gorman in Aliens, he was also in 'HellBound: Hellraiser 2' and 'XXX' . I think it might also be quite nice to stick C. Thomas Howell. He was the main character in The Hitcher. I did see in the photo gallery that Rutger Hauer had been to a previous Collectormania event, it was only after seeing him in Blade Runner (which I only saw the Director's Cut for the first time when I bought it a few months ago) that I knew who he was and really wanted to meet him as he'd done several UK conventions in the past. I am disgusted with myself that I hadn't seen Blade Runner until recently. I did see the theatrical version a few years ago, but I only like the Director's Cut, I actually love it. It would definately be nice to see people from the Cult films of the time. Especially from 70's and 80's films like The Duellists, The Devils, etc. I have to say I'd love it if Collectormania could get a director or two to come along, maybe people like Ken Russell, or even Danny Boyle (although those two might be a bit far-fetched) But I'd love it if Baz Luhrman could come along, but he's definately too far fetched. Not to mention busy with Troy. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Take care everyone.
  15. I'd love for Showmasters to get people from these films... Gladiator Black Hawk Down Alien Blade Runner Or practically any Sir Ridley Scott film. Naming people I'd like to see.... Sir Derek Jacobi (GLADIATOR, I CASSIUS) Tom Hardy (BLACK HAWK DOWN, STAR TREK) Veronica Cartwright (ALIEN) Harry Dean Stanton (ALIEN, THE GREEN MILE) James Olmos (sp???) (BLADE RUNNER, BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA) Rutger Hauer (BLADE RUNNER, THE HITCHER) Orlando Bloom (BLACK HAWK DOWN, THE LORD OF THE RINGS) Matthew Marsden (BLACK HAWK DOWN, CORONATION STREET) Ioan Gruffudd (BLACK HAWK FOWN, HORNBLOWER, TITANIC) John Hurt (ALIEN, HARRY POTTER) David Schofield (GLADIATOR, FROM HELL) Sean Young (BLADE RUNNER) There are other people I'd list but they'd probably be too far fetched. Although you've gotten stars going who I'd never thought would have gone to a convention (e.g. Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, etc) One person who I'd love to see there would be H.R. Giger, the Swedish artist who created the Alien in Alien, Sil in Species, etc and is a very famous artist. I'd love to see him there, but he's one whom I would consider a bit far-fetched for Showmasters to get. But there's always hoping!
  16. The guests who I would really like to see at Collectormania 4 (not including the great ones on the list so far) Veronica Cartwright (Lambert from 'Alien') Tom Hardy (Twombly from 'Black Hawk Down' - also in 'Band Of Brothers' and 'Star Trek: Nemesis') John Hurt (Kane in 'Alien' - also in 'Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone') Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett in 'Attack Of The Clones') Michael Gough (Alfred in 'Batman' and it's sequels - also in 'Sleepy Hollow') Thomas Arana (Quintus in 'Gladiator' - also in 'The Bodyguard' and 'Pearl Harbor') Rutger Hauer (Roy in 'Blade Runner' - also in 'The Hitcher') Sean Young (Rachel in 'Blade Runner' - also in 'Ace Ventura - Pet Detective') I'd also really like to see people from the films 'Gladiator', 'Black Hawk Down', 'Blade Runner', 'Star Wars', 'Alien', and many of the other classic films. They are just some of the many people I'd love to meet at the convention. I did read a post where someone thought there was talk of one or two mentioned in the list, but they're the people who i would (realistically) like to meet.
