  1. I was stuck in the mad crush of people for about five to ten minutes and I can honestly say, I wish all SM crew were the same and only touched the corner's. I know that you can only ask attendees not to touch the photos so much and I'm sure not all photo damage is the result of the crew, but from what I saw it when I was there it wasn't the attendees. I watched in a sort of horror as one crew member condensed a section of Karen's photos to make more room on the table by pushing them along with two fingers in the centre of each photograph. That was instantly 50+ photo's marked in the centre area with fingerprints. As I said, I appreciate that it was busy, but if the crew don't have the time to treat the photographs careful then maybe they should be wearing gloves - as someone above suggested - allowing them to move and touch the photos however they need to, without damaging them.
  2. It was far too manic at the end of yesterday to give this feedback to anyone at SM, so I'm putting it here as I'm sure some other people will be slightly miffed in the same way that I am. The two photographers I saw at LFCC were fantastic and I have no complaints about the pictures taken. I had a couple of photoshoots on Saturday and the pictures are amazing (I rarely, rarely like pictures of myself, even less so with celebrities, so bravo on that front!). What I am disappointed about, is that my Karen Gillan picture has been returned covered in the greasy, sweaty fingerprints of the SM photo-distribution crew! I understand that photo-distribution is busy and that the photographs need to be moved to make more space and picked up to hand to people, but a lot more care could be used than I witnessed yesterday. While stuck in the press of people yesterday evening, unable to escape, I witnessed SM crew moving photos around the table by putting their fore and middle fingers smack in the centre of the photo and pushing them along the table! Another crew member was holding a stack of photos like they were scrap paper - with their thumb right over Karen's face in the top picture, and then proceeded to pick up photos putting their fingers all over the print rather than the edge. Nearly every picture I saw while looking for my own had at least one (and in most cases, many more!) grubby fingerprints on them! Really, SM this is more than a bit not on! I wouldn't mind so much if I were able to get a reprint from the jpeg, but as has been discussed on here that option isn't currently a possibility. This is my only copy of the photo and I take care to protect all the photos I get - I bring protective wallets and a hard backed folder to keep them safe on the journey home. After having paid £25 for my Karen photograph I do not appreciate receiving it with dirty fingerprints on it that aren't my own! It certainly takes the shine - both literal and metaphorical - off the photo! I would expect the crew to handle the photos with a little more care and respect! However, I would like to add that this was not all SM crew on photo-distribution. The photo I collected from the second collection area (what had been Photo Area A) was in perfect condition, and the crew I saw in this area were treating the photos with much more care. I think it's a bit of a shame that I ended the day with this, seeing as I had a fantastic time and the crew were as a rule, amazing!
  3. Oh god, I was at that one and it was a nightmare. They were right next large glass windows and people were pushing and banging on the windows at one point so much, there was a concern that the glass was going to break under the force. In the end, the safety of the guest has to come first!
  4. From Joe's twitter (also, about 5 mins ago):
  5. He seems sincerely sorry, and is talking about the role, so I doubt he'll be there. Very disappointing, but what can you do. As for Showmasters confirming the news, he might not have contacted them directly yet....
  6. Sorry David B, thank you also! For some reason, my notification link opened to view his comment....
  7. Awesome, thanks Too Tall. See you guys tomorrow.
  8. Any chance of photo prices? I want to know how much cash to bring.
  9. Colin Firth :) He graduated with an honorary degree from my University the same year I received my BA, and was at the same ceremony as me. Afterward they snuck him out one of the many back ways (I graduated in a cathedral) while the rest of us went out the main doors. Me and my family then went for lunch in one of the Cathedral buildings and decided to take pictures in front of the main entrance after, because the light would be better. When we came out, the afternoon ceremony was just about to start, including the formal precession. As we'd all been inside when this happened for my ceremony we watched and waited until everything was cleared and ended up waiting another hour or so. We did the whole family taking pictures thing, and just as we were finishing up Colin walked past. He stopped to talk to us - I was still in my full graduation robes and mortarboard - and was incredibly polite and charming. He was a complete sweetheart with both my mum and my nan, who were both practically incoherent over him. When I congratulated him on the degree, he laughed and told me I was the one who deserved the congratulations, as I'd actually worked for mine, and asked what I'd studied and if I'd enjoyed it. His wife (who is both gorgeous and lovely!) took pictures for us, with me and my mum and then my nan (who bless, were still completely loopy over him being there). Now of course, the only graduation picture that ever gets shown to anyone ever, is the one with Mr. Darcy in it. .......Oh yeah, and I've met the Queen, but that's no where near as cool.
  10. Chris Barrie, DJJ, Alice Krige and Joe Flanigan...Hopefully :)
  11. I've never been to Braehead for a CM before, but as it opens at 9am the same time as the Show, where are people planning to wait if they get there early?
  12. So excited!!! I remember Friday nights were always my favourite! Dad would go out to his swim club, and mum would let me watch Red Dwarf if I'd been good in the week
  13. Thanks for the info Too Tall! I'm new to Collectormania events, I'm presuming everything is the same as the info given for last years Glasgow CM, only all tickets are only available on the day? Cheers :) Ax
